Guy Ritchie is a genius of the British New Wave. Brash editing and hilarious dialogues are his calling card. Each British crime comedy is compared to his films Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. He created a new genre and pushed the invisible limits of potential for dozens of excellent actors. Now it’s time to get to know Guy better and immerse ourselves in the beautiful world of cinema. In this first part, we will talk about the beginning of Ritchie’s artistic journey, his marriage to Madonna, and his ability to show London in a way no one else can. So, stop reading this and get watching!

Really great doc! What was the artist/song for the closing track on this one? Can't seem to nail it down. Thank you! Enjoying your work
Bringing back a prostitute or two to dorms is a great British public school tradition
U missed a moment by not including vinnies Gazzas crotch grab photo. Jones is a legend
8 minutes in, and you have won me over. Just saw the part, where you talk about the not caring to much about catching the action. I've said for years, the more times you can make a screen shot, and blow it up to a poster, the better it will be. AND - watch the movie with ZERO sound - if that works, the movie works. BØRGE ODK - artist, inventor, designer, author aso..
Rock n Rolla is CRIMINALLY underrated, I’ve always said it was his 3rd best film (1 & 2 are pretty obvious I think) and should have got SOO much more credit than it did.
One of my favorite movies ever
RocknRolla is one of THE most underrated gangster films out there and is a must watch.
so ya wanna be a REAL rockNrolla
Agreed!
Shocked that revolver didn't do well. Loved that movie.
Its actually my favorite Guy Ritchie movie, and i think its better than his first two movies.
I love it.
His movies are great, but I think what really sells them is the pace, the montage of his films is flawless there is not a minute wasted in nonsense, you are always carried throught the story of the film by the witty conversations and hilarious (sometimes also violent) stuff that happen to the characters.
King Arthur? Wrath of men? Both terrible
Lock Stock and Snatch were really great flicks, imo. I used to think of Ritchie as the English Tarantino.
I hear that a lot, and I def get it, but I see him more as an English Coen Brothers!
@@phatnana2379 well, coen brothers are just american guy ritchie who is tarantino with a bit darker mind
After Lock Stock released, he was labeled as just that
tarantino is just disgusting. no comparison at all
@@marinski023 you clearly lack aby sense of art, filmmaking, humour, storytelling and dialogue
Just watched “The Gentlemen” on Netflix. I clicked on it without knowing it was Ritchie and had the same flush of excitement as my first viewing for “Lock Stock…..” before realizing it. Laughed out loud throughout the film at the moments that he creates and his plot twists are like getting dragged halfway through a knothole, and then back through the way you came.
The Gentlemen was definitely one of my favorite films of 2020, a nice throwback to his earlier work.
It is great
His “Madonna” faze is a story of loosing it and regaining it. His movies while with her were unrecognisable to the masterpieces before but soon as she was gone..top form returned
that's what i was trying to say
He still lives in Madonnas old house, regularly see him shopping in the local town or promoting his new brewery. Very normal man at the end of the day.

@@slugtoenail sorry teach 🤪
@@thunderwarrior1759 all is forgiven.
Ritchie's in his element when he ponces off of subculture, that's what he's good at, taking other people's lifestyles and portraying them authentically but with mild exaggeration on film.
Layer Cake was also the movie why a certain guy was asked to be James Bond. After watching the Tarantino documentaries, I started the Guy Ritchie ones. What a great job!
You can easily see in Daniel Craig’s walk he had the Bond part down
Snatch is not only a British Classic. The whole effing world appreciates that film. Im in Texas and I considerate in my top 30 best movies of all time. Not sure where it places but its surely in the middle
Snatch is a top 5 movie of all time for me. What a great flick.
I love you guys! Your channel is awesome.
Thank you! We really appreciate that channels like yours support us!
@@OkoloKino I've already bing-watched a third of your videos! I love that you're not only establishing facts and anecdotes, you also have an artistique angle and you go deep into their stories. And these intros are so good... I'm a fan, really :)
Guy Ritchie is a down to earth, genuinely nice fella in real life.
Instantly fell in love with his movies and his style!! It clicked with my senses when it comes to being entertained.
Revolver is one of my favorite movies.
Terrific movie.
Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino are by far my favourite film makers. Legends
Revolver is an underappreciated masterpiece.
Snatch is probably my favorite comedy ever!
Man, I'm really enjoying your work. Each one of your documentaries are well researched and just so happens to cover my favorite directors/actors. Thank you for your hard work
Thank you for your support!
My friends and I wore out my DVD copy of Snatch in high school. Such a masterpiece.
This dudes producing videos on CZcams like it’s the greatest hits.
Wow, can't believe Revolver failed in cinemas. That's an absolute banger of a film! Had to rewatch it a couple of times just to understand the whole picture and enjoyed it every time, yet still think I miss a lot.
Glad to hear it's Guy Ritchie's favourite film
I totally agree with you.
Thats why IT failed
Its the most deep, but sheep didn't understand the movie, one of his greatest movies.
If I got to watch a film three times to understand it I probably don’t need to see it
FAVOURITE LINES?
Well done boy boy! This documentary is all sixes and sevens playas!
Not a fan of lock stock but snatch, rock n rolla and the gentleman, those three right there are some of cinemas greatest comedic gangster movies by a country mile
Snatch is a top 20 movie of all time great movie great dialogue
Lock stock, snatch and rocknrolla are 3 of of my top 5 films, dead man shoes and trainspotting other 2
I came across this channel via a friend's recommendation and have been binging it since then. This channel needs to blow up. Great work Okolo Kino.
I love his movies. Not "typical" Hollywood. Different but great.
Haven't started watching this yet well 15 seconds in and judging by your Q expose. I'm looking forward to it
When I think of Guy Ritchie films, I think of the memorable, layered, and nuanced characters. Bullet Tooth Tony has to be one of the greatest movie characters of all time.
Guy Richie is my favorite director. I went to see RocknRolla in theaters knowing nothing about it other than he directed it. Was so glad I did. I use to watch Snatch every single night going to bed. It's still and will be in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
IDK how many times i saw those movies, each time i could pee in my trousers of laughing- the actors, the cut, the music and the very special humour from guy ritchie- i just love them and feel very entertained thanks for this documentary!
My favorite movie by far is Snatch!
Binge watching these now! Great work
Daaaaaaaamn! I watched the whole thing with a smile on my face! Thanks for this!
This is incredible,I just finished watching these 3 movies + The Gentlemen, awesome director!
HI Valentin! Glad to know you liked it! The second part of Ritchie's biography is already available in our patreon.
Great work, I saw all 3 about Tarantino, hoped for Guy Ritchie, and here it is. Thank you ! ❤️
Im loving this channel! It was a slow day at work yesterday and I spent the whole day watching the Tarentino docs. Now I can't wait for part 2 of Guy Ritchie !
Keep up the great work!
Really looking forward to future releases!

Wow! You showed up on my feed and all I can say is Wow!
Stephen graham is one of the finest actors in the world. I’ll watch anything if he’s in it. He’s up there with Eddie marsan and Toby jones
american here. one of the BEST things i love about guy ritchie is his casting choices. i think snatch was one of his first movies id ever seen of his and other than brad i dont think id ever seen any of the other actors and damn near fell in love with all of them. i then looked for his past films. great casting in every one i found.
I've watched his movies so many times. I love them.
BEST NEW-ISH CHANNEL ON CZcams! CANT GET ENOUGH.....BOOOOOOOOM!!
Awesome!!!
Snatch, my favorite movie of all time. Thank you for the content.
This is extremely high quality content. I thank you.
Lock Stock and Snatch are amazing movies. Watched both a dozen times.
Layer Cake is a mfxn masterpiece!
Well put together.
Revolver is his best movie imo. I can't even recall how many times I've watched it. Never get enough of it.
Revolver is one of the most misunderstood, underrated movies in cinema history.
It takes a few attempts to understand the full depth of it. Most people give up on the first attempt, thus misunderstanding its premise.
Great film
Legendary film.
Great, i gotta watch it again now. Thanks a lot, LEO
@@harris2898 My pleasure! Enjoy it :)
I absorbed it my first time watching. It is a masterpiece.
Well Its about time he gets some recognition for his style of directing.

Hell,yeah. This rocks!
You don't so much snatch a chance when being the son of a baron but super talented, iconic and inspirational none the less :)
one of my fave directors......love his take. Immense talent.. thanks for the info
Ritchie + OkoloKino = an ideal biography. Real recognize real 👏
You real bruh?

"Real recognize real" unironically
I found this both entertaining and informative.
Thanks OP. 🙏🇦🇺
One of my favourite directors …
His movies have an adranaline energy no other filmmakers has captured.
🇬🇧 you had to give it to Brad Pitt for snatch what a brilliant part and he smashed it. I personally think that Brad just showed what a number ONE actor he really is.. big thumbs up for our very own English actors.. 🥇🥈🥉🎭
This channel is amazing. Thanks to the CZcams algorithm for bringing me here.
Layer Cake, what a great movie.
I watched two of these documentaries. Top rated. Good job. People are going to take notice - it's only a matter of time.
Thank you for your feedback!
Wonderful images, photography and on top, the flowing, expert delivery. Congratulations
really good work you did here and the editing - fantastic
Love your stuff, and thank you for getting better voice over people
which lends the question, Why do you need voice over when you've got video and audio of the actual person?
Awesome all his movies are great entertaining I was introduced to guy Ritchie movies and I just was mesmerized great work👍
Thank you for your comment! Do not hesitate to watch other videos on our channel
Snatch is cinematic masterpiece...
Saw all his films in the theater save for Swept Away. While Snatch is that lad classic, I absolutely love his Sherlock films and Man from UNCLE. I can watch them any time they are one. The Gentlemen also blew me away as a mature Guy Ritchie film in his London lad vein. It’s a fantastic film in every way. Wrath of Man…errrr not so much. Can’t wait for him and Henry doing The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Sounds like a blast:
Likewise. I have no interest in watching "Swept Away" and have not sought it out at theatres/as a rental/on any streaming platform. I love Ritchie's movies including Revolver and RocknRolla (which contains my favourite line of any Tuff Guy film.)
His work is watchable and rewatchable, and brings me great joy.
I love Tarantino & Robert Rodriquez, Del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Ilya Neishuller and Evan Royalty's work..as well as the offerings of other directors... but it is RITCHIE who is my favourite director. The man is brilliant and my opinion of his former wife's intelligence and emotional intelligence plummeted when she failed to recognize his talent and contribution to film.
Great content!!
Man these are too good for youtube, honestly. BRILLIANT!
Lock Stock and Snatch are the the pinnacle of "Guns 'n' Geezers" flicks, imo! Some may say A Long Good Friday too but I think that's just too great a movie to be called anything but GREAT lol!!
But I also really likes Rock'n'Rolla too! I, at least, don't think it deserves the flack it gets! Obv miles from Lock Stock and Snatch but still an effortlessly, cool af, Ritchie-style gangster movie!
Interesting , my son
Took up karate ( shotokan )up to his brown belt and it taught
Him the exact oppossite . So proud of him . He learned perseverance , self discipline and tenacity . Did I mention I am proud of him ?
Rock n rolla next on my watchlist
What did you think?
One of the many directors who show you everything there is to see, but oscar material. You don't miss much.
That Was Incredibly Insane Well Done.
💎 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 💎
Snatch will Always be the best movie ever made
Excellent !!

Snatch is one of my favorite movies
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
Excellent video. Props to Ritchie. His films definitely pop into my mind everyday and influenced my life
I was watching this documentary, got past 'Snatch', got past 'swept away', they start talking about 'Revolver' and I'm thinking "Wait, what about 'Mean Machine.' And holy hell, Mean Machine is NOT directed by Guy Ritchie. Man, I could have sworn.... I mean, it uses all the usual Guy Ritchie actors, the editing, the black humour, all of it feel for sure like a Guy Ritchie movie. Unless this is one of those Mandela Effect situations...
