Exactly right. I like watching new knife videos but I think it's even cooler learning about someone's older knives and what they've been through.

Bought one of the first 055s when introduced in 2005.
Been in my pocket every single day since. Love it.

My Pops carried a 301 Stockman for years, and eventually gave me one of my own in 2001. I carried it sometimes, but it is a little big to have all the time. 23 years later, I bought him and I some 055s for Christmas and man I really love that thing. Stays in a jeans 5th pocket and you'd never know it was there. Perfect!

Been carrying my 55 in a 4x6 dice bag for about 5 years every day. Doesn’t have a scratch or dent on it. Keeps it looking great and won’t fall out of your pocket. That natural wood scratches easier than the diamond wood. I see they now offer this in a blue diamond wood handle, but cost is higher.

Nothing like your first pocket knife. New sub. Cheers.

Love Buck knives. I've got a 110, 503 & 373. I'd like to order a customized 112 at some point (no pun intended). Great video & channel!

Why don’t you just send it back to Buck Knives and let them do the spa treatment to it?When they send it back,it will be like brand new. They will fix the handle and tighten the blade, and clean and sharpen it hair shaving sharp.Maybe now you’ll treat it better like a knife instead of a sledgehammer or something.

One of the best overall reviews of anything I’ve seen. Just to let you know they don’t look like that in the picture, well the wood at least. I bought one online last year for about 65 dollars including shipping. The walnut doesn’t have any finish like all the other buck knives. Even the 505 Knight I bought which is almost half the size had wood finish. Two questions: Do you remember if yours had finish? And what do you recommend I use for finish on the handle. Thanks👍

No it definitely didn't have a finish on it. And as for the handle finish I honestly couldn't tell you. I'm not big into the wooden handles and such so I'm not too experienced in that field.

International EDC Sorry my writing is all over the place, but the handle is what I was referring to. Yours looks like it has some because it’s a little glossy. I guess I’ll put some WD-40 or some Minwax to preserve the handle. Thanx 4 gettin back at me man

@@thatguy7354 No problem, I try and respond to all my comments! I'm glad you liked the video and sorry for not being able to help with the handle finish.

Mine is Walnut. I put a little cutting board oil on it, let it soak in tor a couple hours before wiping off excess. Every few months. That oil is non toxic, I sometimes cut food with it.

How big would the Buck 110 be compared to the Buck 055 ? Where do you think the name came from ?

The company has a long history through five generations of the Buck family from 1902 hoyt buck made the first buck knife Introduced in 1964, it was one of the first lockback folding knives considered strong enough to do the work of a fixed-blade knife. Its debut revolutionized hunting knives, rapidly becoming one of the most popular knives ever made, with some 15 million Model 110 knives produced since 1964. The buck 110 is
      8 9/16" and the buck 55 is around 5"

That knife has a soul. You could get a new blade but keep the body. The body is where the soul is in my opinion.

Nothing sad about having a knife you've used for years that looks like you've used it for years.
