    It’s amazing that there is actually access to the torch via couple ladders but is closed off to the public.

    Loved the video! Love the journey, the end destination = the crown, but also loved the bit in the end when you decided you'd be faster than any elevator in there! Thanks from 2022!

    A big thank you ActionKid for mentioning the Statue of Liberty's friend in Green-Wood Cemetery! I never knew of the story of the Minerva Statue until you mentioned it. Yet another thing to see next time I'm in New York.

    I figure it was at that time of year after checking the title, at it looks like the length of the shadow being casted is 610 feet long, which is twice as long as the structure's actual height.

    How long was the whole trip from ferry ride Manhattan side, looking around pedestal museum, climb to crown and ride back to Manhattan? We only have one chance for tickets and it's on the day we leave. We fly out of La Guardia at 1p. If we get the 9am tickets, do you think we could get this done??

    • @ActionKid
      @ActionKid  Před 4 lety +1

      I would suggest not doing it. I would say it took around 3 hours. There’s still security to go through, and the ferry takes you to Ellis Island before taking you back to Manhattan.

    • @matthewvidrine2360
      @matthewvidrine2360 Před 4 lety +1

      @@ActionKid dang. I was told u can skip Ellis. Bummer

    • @ActionKid
      @ActionKid  Před 4 lety +2

      Matthew Vidrine I think the way the system works when I took this trip was this: Security at Battery Park, Ferry to Liberty Island, You get to explore Liberty Island, Security at the Statue of Liberty base, Ferry to Ellis Island, You get to explore Ellis Island (if you want to skip Ellis Island you have to wait for the next ferry to Manhattan here), Ferry back to Manhattan. Visiting the Statue alone is at least 2 hours but I would plan for 3 hours.

    Hi! I just stumbled upon this video. I always wondered what it looked like inside the statue. From 4:06 to 7:06, the climb up the spiral staircase took just 3 minutes? I'm surprised! I always thought the climb would take more than 5 mins!

      Except, oh I don't know, being by far the BIGGEST reason the United States ever won their war to be an independent country against the greatest empire in the world (thanks to France AND Spain) to the point they drove themselves bankrupt just to spite their rival Britain... leading to their own bloody violent Revolution over a decade later... But besides that, yeah, giving you a statue is "the one nice thing" France ever did for the Yankees. Learn your history.
