@@arturorosas2170 I believe most of us here know she is not from our country. Carol was referring to our limited knowledge of so many wonderful artists from other places. We never hear of them. I found Agnes Obel by chance on CZcams and now I can't stop listening to her music! I'm sure that is how many others have found her.
But if she were liked by the masses; the American masses. I'm pretty sure I, and many others wouldn't like her, because it wouldn't be her music as we know it.

Not sure where you're getting your stats, but Agnes Obel has yet to tour the US, though that will quickly change and should bring increased notoriety. As a radio programmer, I frequently play her music and talk up her tour. Like Eivør, Anna Von Hauswolff and other amazing young women with a unique style, Agnes will appeal to an open-minded, artistic minority.

I love how ambiguous her lyrics are, yet so intentional and specific to a nameless _thing_ . I had no idea that this song was about the power of a secret, but the song seems so fitting in that context.

I first heard her on Cardinal too!!! Just got Apple Music and have been listening to her non stop the past few days. Love all the different instruments she uses and the haunting style of her compositions. And her voice is other worldly! An amazing talent!
I gotta say, the more I listen to Agnes the more I grow to appreciate her work. so far I notice she closes her songs with strong instrumental outros - the same as my favorite metal bands (Megadeth, Dream Theater). it's super refreshing, & I'm now a fan.

My 3 favorite songs of hers. If Riverside and The Curse could've been added it would be a perfect set for me. Don't care much for the stale reaction and tone of the interviewer.
Justin Simon - I started listening with The Curse and Riverside too. And then each song after that was so good, I haven't been able to end my day without listening. Ms Obel keeps me awake at this late hour. Need sleep but I don't want to miss anything.
I discovered her from Dark, I started listening her songs, now I literally listen her everyday 3 weeks ago, have my ticket to see her in Barcelona, I have to work to pay the plane tickets from Colombia 😅😅😅
