I mean we laugh but the moment these guys make something thats bigger than us, it can begin to take over and becomes difficult to capture the joy of what it all started out as in the 1st place.
If HxH is never finished, honestly it's rough, but that's just fine by me. Perhaps not every story needs an official ending, perhaps the ending is the stories we build in our heads.

Fun Fact: Miura became a published author and mangaka with his first manga "Miuranger" when he was TEN YEARS OLD. This man was a fucking legend and man it hurts that he himself can't finish his magnum opus.
I have a funny feeling that Miura is going to be one of those men who's deeds are going to be recognized post-mortem in mainstream MUCH more than he or his work is now.
Wow amazaballs
People with no talent are to jealous to appreciate a great artist when he is still alive
That was for a school newspaper though.
I saw it on a video and almost threw the phone when the dude said he was 10
Miura was a master of storytelling. Knowing that his magnum opus, the work that will define his legacy, will never be finished breaks me.
Despite that, I look back on the major theme of Berserk; the world can tear you apart and take everything away from you but you will always have the strength to keep moving forward. You don't deserve to be consumed by your anguish, to spend the rest of your days wallowing in misery.
When I look at Guts, one of my favourite protagonists in all of fiction, I don't see an edgelord. I see a man slowly learning to live again. As difficult as it may be, he won't give up on himself. He is the struggler.
Fuck that description made me want to read it now. That sounds amazing.
@@JoboTupakii you haven't read Berserk? Please start reading it! It is worth the time and effort.

These men could have chosen between 6500 languages but they decided to speak facts.
The one panel that sticks with me is Guts staring out to the ocean, hes covered in bandages and some burns; his expression is what captured the moment for me. It's serene.
Berserk for me will always be one of my favorite manga.
Moments like that are the magic of Berserk.
Are you talking about the scene after the world tree appeared while they were on the ship?
@@dorkusmaximus5765 its while they were on the boat, if I'm remembering right it was before the battle with the kraken.
@@bleedingteeth935 I know which scene you’re talking about! Yeah, seeing guts like that was definitely serene.
"I guess even if you force back what was lost, it still won't be the way it was."
I reread my Berserk volumes after hearing about his death and one of Guts quotes (i think from vol1) really has a different meaning now
"He died doing what he wanted, no matter what right? I bet he was happy."
I fucking love this quote! When I read it the first time I stopped for a moment, realising the meaning behind it.
Actually in my experience they do sometimes say why they are on hiatus. Lots of times I have seen anime news saying "Hiatus due to Health problems". Must respect these people who work so hard. Not only manga but people who animate episodes
I don't agree that people wanting Berserk to go on aren't real fans or that it would necessarily be better unfinished. It's understandable that people who have been invested in a series for years would want to cling to hope. It would be great if we hear more about whether Miura did indeed plan for this situation (as people have speculated), and whether his wishes for the series are known. Because if he did want his assistance to carry the torch, then that'd be the most respectful thing to do.
Same can be said about those people who say that it shouldnt be touched anymore. Just funny
I would like a potential final chapter, kinda like what was done with vagabond, bc it still hasn't had a final arc but it does have a what if final chapter
These three pissed me off at that point. They're judging a fandom they absolutely are not apart of. For fans who have emotional attachment and investment in the series, it's not just Miura dying. Its also the fate of his magnum opus and their favorite story being left in question. It's natural for the fandom while also grieving to immediately wonder about the man's life work.
And how do we know they aren't Strugglers? Simple. They thought Guts killed one of the Godhand. Like ffs, I can give Cdawg a pass since he apparently hasn't read the whole manga, but Gigguk let me down if he's read it. Joey...don't care. He's always been a stupid prick and he just proved it again here.
@@Tomluke5823 I don't care if Joey has a statue or not, he clearly hasn't paid attention to the manga if he thinks something as monumental as Guts killing one of the Godhand happened when it never did. That's just a sign of him being a casual and putting up window dressing to maintain a facade. He's always been a stupid twit and a statue doesn't change that.
@@jharriger2816 You're mad at people coz they didn't pay as much attention to a story as u did. Calm down bud, it's just a piece of fiction. No need to get abusive over something so trivial

@@BrandonHilikus yeah considering how huge 2016 anime drama is im surprised too, but well i myself would rather take this than CBR articles and people unironically support Griffith because hes "hot"
True!!!
*Yes it is one of the most beautiful pieces of fiction ever written and drawn but NO,* what you say is unfair and I disagree, there are other mangas imo, just to mention one (of a LOT) example: *Vinland Saga.*
It's Ironic poetry that the story of a man trying to get revenge on the friend that sent him down this path will never come to an end.
True, but I like to think Guts is at the end of his journey, at least emotionally. Yeah, Griffith is still doing Femto things, but Guts has already realized that Casca is more important than revenge and they seem (relatively) at peace on the island. Same reason I’m fine with Vagabond not getting an ending.
@@RagnarLoudpak Vagabond actually has an ending. It's just that the middle to the end is what we don't have.
On the surface, yeah, the story is about Guts seek revenge. But, beyond that, and the main story for me, it's about hope and starting again to search a meaning Guts' life after monstrosity event.
Well it still might

Ok so these guys definitely didn’t keep up to date on how Miura was trying to go about making Berserk these past couple of years.
He hired multiple assistants that he then trained to mimic his art style in order for them to help speed up the production of new Berserk chapters.
And the idea is that hopefully he had story boards and such written out to the the end of the series that the assistants can follow to give Berserk its proper ending.

[TW] I just want to also point out that Berserk did something that I don't think a lot of manga does: it talks about: male SA & r@pe. The way that Miura handled this topic was just so raw and brutal and it just goes to show you that even strong, incredibly badass characters like Guts (who almost always comes out on top) can be incredibly broken by it and find healing through love (via his relationship with Casca and his brotherhood with the rest of the Band of the Hawk). I say this because it feels like a lot of creators use r@pe and SA as the go-to background story for female characters and at times it feels like they just use it in a shallow, exploitative way. However, Miura uses it in a way that's more "realistic" by showing that these types of things can happen to anyone, even the most hardened, badass, sword-slinging characters. I'm not a man so I don't speak for men when I say this, but I have a feeling that lot of men might have been touched by Berserk because of how it portrays SA against men, a topic that isn't nearly discussed in our current times, and seeing a huge behemoth of a character go through something like that shows them "oh, if someone as strong as Guts can go through something like that, then I'm not weak or less than for having gone through that myself" if that makes sense? Again, I don't speak for men so please correct me if I'm totally off the mark.

He didn’t train them to continue it u muppet. Only to help more with the process of drawing it so there is less space between chapters.
Miura did not know he had this disease. This has already been confirmed
As a fan, I'm hoping that the story is continued because it's a story that is so good that it needs to have an ending, and I would hope that if it is continued, it is in the format of some other stories where the author died and the assistants created their continuation of it by calling it something like Berserk: Tale of the Struggler, where they continue the story but they make it known that it is different from the original. No matter how gritty, dark, and decrepit Berserk got the overbearing fact that we are all strugglers in our own lives and must always move forward was pounded into my brain and mentality through the use of Guts as a character. Berserk is so much more than just blood and guts. May Miura-sensei Rest In Peace, his bonfire of dreams burning bright as we all stop by and gaze at the kindles.

"Berserk is a Masterpiece" Dead on. 🎯
“The reward for ambition too great… is self destruction.” - Guts
I refused to read Berserk for so long due to a certain point I heard (from the prequel story) about a young Guts late at night with a certain mercenary named Donovan.
I eventually decided to read it from start to finish (that was when the story was up to the millennium falcon arc) and loved every single second, including "The Boat"
Every single part, every single character is important to the story.
Isidro wasting half a chapter pulling witches clothes down - critical
Guts staring out at the sea as a boat sails for an unknowingly long time - critical
Puck carrying on and on being a silly bugger - critical
All of it is important to the full story and fleshes every part out.
I saw so many people getting annoyed at Isidro, Puck, Schierke, Farnese or Serpico cause "ohhh they're getting in the way of Guts being the furious Black Swordsman"
The way I see the story, and the way I believe Miura was pushing the story was that Revenge kills you, Revenge ruins you internally. Gut's suffering from wearing the Berserker Armour is showing that fact. I think the above mentioned characters getting in Guts way when he just wants to be violent is important for him to grow as a character, he needs to give up that violence and hatred.
Going by the things Miura said a few years ago about how he couldn't see a sad ending for the story, and that he couldn't imagine Guts killing Griffith cause that would be like Guts killing the Author (Himself). I will always assume the ending is where The Idea of Evil is destroyed by Griffith giving all the people a peaceful place to live resulting in Griffith destroying himself, then he will die off with his last sight seeing a happy peaceful Guts and Casca having a happy life being that they've long having forgotten him.
My ending needs way more explanation but i'm running out of characters to type with.
I wanna read berserk, but at the same time i don't wanna be depressed
Berserk is back, let's gooo
Here after berserker’s manga continuation has been announced. I am filled with joy.
I had totally forgotten about this comic book store in my small town and I recently went in there the other day and to my surprise they carried Berserk Deluxe Editions! Needless to say I copped 2/5 of them and I’m on my way to collect em all 😎
BERSERK LIVES
Kentaro Miura was a GOD of Art who descended on Earth to bless us with his Godly Art !!!!!
So far, I've only read the black swordsman arc and watched the golden age anime, so take my words with a grain of salt. That being said, not knowing whether a story is going to be finished is a legitimate concern, especially one as important as Berserk. What does Joey mean when he said "Those aren't fans of Berserk." You can be sad that Miura passed away, and still question whether Berserk will continue. These aren't mutually exclusive things. At the time of the announcement, I had only seen the golden age anime. I knew I was going to read the manga at some point. So when I heard the news that Miura had passed away, I was sad that Berserk may not get an ending. In my point of view, It's sad that Berserk won't get an ending it deserves. Not that it takes anything away from what we do have, but its still tragic that Miura didn't get to finish his masterpiece.
Those few later chapters that were just pages of breathtaking art and no dialogue blew my fucking mind.
Golden Age arc is a thing of beauty.
Guts is the best written character of all manga and anime
Now i understand how true every sentence of this highlight is.
I recently just finished Berserk (8/23/2021 around 3 or 4 am) once I finally finished reading the last panel I smiled and closed my laptop and started to tear up. That day there was a full moon, I'm not a huge believer but I was raised with religion in my life. That night I prayed for the author hoping he's in a better place. What a masterpiece one human can create may he rest for all of eternity.
I picked it up because it was wrapped in the book store with a huge “parental advisor” sticker on it and I was like
Ooooo I bet this is good
Was not disappointed
Berserk is a true masterpiece and the best Manga of all time 🐐

I think miura said last year that he planned to finish berserk in the next 5-10 years (taking into account his slower pace and everything). Lots of speculation that the climax of the series was about to happen. Like, the moonlight boy just showed up, and maybe Griffith would follow with his generals for a final battle on the elf island or something like that
As an Artist, reading 1st page of berserk made me tearup by detail and beautiful style.
