When it was combined with the glorification of Britain's Empiric 'heroism' and the 'civilisation ' of the natives that purportedly achieved, it was a most potent and poisonous exemplar of the indoctrination I endured in the 1950s...along with millions of other kids back then. I was not alone...and today's events - Brexit, nationalism, othering etc - perhaps bear witness to its efficacy. among that generation.
The Zionist views held by many millions today are perhaps a more polished version of what I and my contemporaries went through back in the day. In Rajputana (north India), for instance, there's this story of Queen Padmini and mass suicide pacts (Jauhar rituals), which is complete fiction but projected as real history to poison the majority hindu people against their fellow citizens. I guess there would be similar majoritarian myths and delusional practices in other cultures as well, like harakiri in Japan, otherwise how can they mobilize them to do evil?
