2 of my 3 favourite landscape Photographers together! Just need to invite Thomas Heaton along and that would be the perfect CZcams video!
One more vote for that .... :-)
Agreed, really the three main UK guys I follow, all class acts.
And perhaps even add Kevin Herdgristle (or whatever his name is) to the mix... 😉
I was thinking literally the same thing. Just finished watching one of Thomas Heaton's videos and then wanted to come here to see this one since I haven't had time to watch it yet! Those 3 are some of the most inspiring landscape photographers I've found in a while when it comes to getting me out and about shooting.
Great video. Nice to see you more comfortable when hooking up with other photographer. And with Nigel. What a treat.
Glad you enjoyed it
Two of my three favourite CZcamsrs, only Thomas Heaton is missing.
I agree 👍 💯
Must be Christmas! You AND Nigel Danson in one video! Thanks for today’s trip to the Lakes!
Good video Henry nice to see Nigel out with you , got some really nice pictures 😊
Like others have said - my 2 favs in one video. If only Nigel had brought Pebbles along that would have made even better. Your struggling still looks better than my good days but nice to know the pros struggle too.
Great to see Nigel in video, and you can tell you both enjoy each others company.
Cheers!!!
Awesome morning but tricky to find a good shot. Loved your take on it Henry! And great images!!!
Thanks mate!!
Hi Henry, Nigel and yourself in the one video, how lucky are we! ... thanks for sharing another grand day out. Days like that you can either get no shots or simnply hundreds, its so hard to know in advance, but you got a few corkers there. Well done Henry, and its good to see that Nigel's back is seemingly much better than it once was. I guess that's the recouperative powers of Z8 ownership ;-) . It was also reassuring for the likes of me that have very little talent, that even you and Nigel were occasionally struggling to get an image from the obviously wonderful scenery.
Brilliant move having Nigel as your special guest !
Some nice photos there ! Thanks !
Many thanks
I love the abstract shots and the shot of the hoarfrost on the trees. So simple and elegant
I've dropped so many Nikons in remote places and they have never failed to work. My D850 was like that Toyota Hilux that Top Gear tried to kill years ago and it just kept working.
Nice to see you both out and about, two top photographers 👌🏻
Thanks 👍
Nice to see you both together makes a lot of amateur photographers like myself feel the camaraderie amongst fellow light chasers its great to see well done lads
Need clouds and there is nothing substantial enough, don't need too much cloud and it's a grey pancake.
Fickle conditions are a challenge, but worth it if you capture something you can get excited about especially when you have a great backdrop to work with.
Excellent as ever Henry
I can't believe this, I was only thinking yesterday how you would get on pairing up with someone like Nigel, and here it is! Wow! Felt for you though, not getting the ideal conditions, but you certainly made the most of it Henry, I applaud you 👏
Nice to see you both hanging out together and a good selection of images Henry. Especially liked the one you said was the best of of the day as it definitely conveyed that cold feeling when viewing it.
Thanks mate I was really happy with that one in the end!
Loved the frosty oak leaves, feel like the frosty moss would also have been great on it's own.
This looks like an incredible morning, I feel bad for having been trapped at home most of the day watching it all fall now, and you got to share it with Nigel, epic!
Pops up everywhere that fella 😂 always a pleasure tho, cheers for another great bit of viewing
I do love that last image of the leaves.
Two of my favourite photogs!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow!!! How lovely to see you pair together xx
Absolute belter - Henry & Nigel wow!
Two of my 'must follow' photographers for the price of one. I'm really enjoying your advent calendar posts and so looking forward to the next adventure.
The two photographers I follow on youtube and facebook together. Bonus!
love the intimate leaf shot, you have a good eye for these, Henry
The struggle is real. Carry on. 👍🥂
It was nice seeing two of my favorites coming away with varying images from the same locations at the same time. Each of you provided several top notch images in tough conditions. Merry Christmas from southeast Missouri, USA.
Thank you very much!
Nice to see Nigel !!!!
Great to see you meet up with Nigel, always wondered if you two new each other.
Nice one Henry, I was unfortunate or maybe fortunate to get caught out in all the snow in Ambleside, cracking as always Mr T.
Great to see you out with Nigel! You guys both ROCK! Thanks for taking me along!
Fantastic video, is nice to see you enjoying photography together, all in one 👍🙂
Nice shots Henry, great to see you and Nigel having a good time together!
Thanks 👍
thanks again Henry really enjoyed your video again. good to see Nigel with you i follow him too.
Living in Ambleside I was in the middle of the snow (mayhem for some). On the Sunday, I was up Loughrigg in a winter wonderland by myself in a foot of snow. It was great, but photography wise quite challenging as it was like being in a monochrome world. I think my expectations were much higher than reality.
Some great images in difficult circumstances - well done!
Ooh, now that second abstract shot is nice! Even given such amazing scenery in challenging conditions, you certainly had an absolute blast. PD do a hand-strap if you feel a neck-strap might be too cumbersome 😉
Great hook up with ND and some good images. I like the sort of ghostly person (assuming that’s what it is) lurking mysteriously in the trees.
I love this advent series so far. And a video together with Nigel is awesome.
Brilliant 👏
Absolutely gorgeous scenery and photos, thanks so much for sharing your photography adventures in these brilliant videos.
Omg I've been waiting for this for so long, my two favourite landscape photographer creaters together, it's brilliant ❤😂🎉😊
Beautiful frost! These advent videos keep getting better and better!
You never fail to be an example of determination, inspiration, creativity and enjoying the wonders of photography.
great video Henry! thanks
Great video as always Henry.
It doesn't get any better than that.
Glad you enjoyed it
So cool to see you and Nigel meeting up.
A regular who's who of photography guest you have going lately Henry. ... BUUUTT... Love the snow. I could drive you guys :) Some beautiful shots there Henry.
This is a great video. You and Nigel creating photos together. I enjoy your videos and learn from them. Season's Greetings from the U.S.
Many thanks!
Very cool to have you both on camera today! LOVED the frosty trees shot you shared after the camera slid off your bag.
It’s made my day to see you out with Nigel. My 2 favourite landscape photographers 🎉
Thanks for reminding us that persistence and attitude are the two best photography tools---that last hoar frost image was a winner for sure!
Thanks for sharing Henry.... great results & good to see Nigel with your adventure .... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Fantastic content as always Henry with beautiful images from a stunning winter's day. Nigel is a legend so was a lovely surprise to have the two of you together. You should do this more 📸🌄❄️❤️
It’s Really great journey Henry! I like abstract photography with frozen trees!
Thank you very much!
It is frustrating when there’s beauty all around you but not great for photography. Beautiful images anyway. You persevered! So great to see you and Nigel together!
Well done Henry, a wonderful video as always, hope you get a strap for Christmas :) Have an amazing and enjoyable Christmas and many thanks for all your efforts and great video's. Take care.
Another awesome video. I took your advise this past weekend and shot what was available. It was raining here in South Carolina and I wanted to get something in "the can" for a shot. I was out and saw all of the trees that were missing their leaves and I noticed the drops hanging from the little branches. I thought that might be a cool shot. I spent over an hour getting soaked taking shots. Every time I thought I was done, I saw another branch that needed to get in on the fun. Thanks for the inspiration with your "shooting down" idea.
Thanks again for another video Henry, it was great to see you paired up with Nigel! Cheers!
Enjoy seeing you having the opportunity to meet and shoot with other CZcams photographers. You captured some beautiful images. Well done!
First the Cairngorns, then the West Coast, north of Ullapool, now Grasmere, several hours south - busy days?
Nice to see you out with Nigel and enjoying each others company. Also good to see you looking closer again with the leaf shots, I quite often resort to that when conditions are not perfect for landscapes, can get some really nice shots of things under your feet or up close and personal, still need as much thought regarding composition too 🍂🍁👌
IV been practicing filming and taking photos and how much harder it is and affected my photography. Especially if you have prior expectations and things don't work out! Filming/ telling a story to get great photos is another ball game and can't be underestimated in a way to different skills all together and appreciate Henry's and others vloging while taking photos a lot more! Great work once again Henry
I feel your pain, Henry! But the hoar frosted trees near the end of the video, that is one very special image. Nicely seen, and composed, and a demonstration of not letting your frustrations get the better of you.
Another great watch Henry, for me your 5x4 of the tree was your best shot followed by the last last of the leaves.
Another well done video and with Nigel to boot.
Truly great to see two of my favorite photographers out enjoying the day together. Again, some nice images from this episode, Henry. I am glad I am being able to catch many of these in your Advent video series. Cheers, both of you.
Many thanks!
No failures here Henry, another great video. The Advent series was a real challenge but you are smashing it!
Thanks again!
Nice to see you and Nigel together in a video! Was nice watching that!
Henry and Nigel. An awesome combination.
Nice to see you out and about with Nigel.
It looks like you both had a good time.
Although the conditions weren't what you wanted you still managed to get some really nice image's.
Catch you on the next one.
Thanks 👍
Well, that's a bit of a bonus my two favourite CZcams photographers on the same video.
Thanks again, Henry, for all your effort in putting this brilliant series together.
Thanks so much mate
that sometimes happens Henry - but the real important thing is you are winning at life. Anything else is a bonus :)
I know how you feel, Henry - I arrived in Grasmere the day before the snow came down and was fortunate enough to have 2 days in the 'winter wonderland' that was presented to us on the Saturday and Sunday. However, despite 'seeing' a lot of images, getting them on camera proved to be extremely difficult. Glad to see that you got some shots - especially like the trees with the hoar frost.
Lovely shoot with Nigel, always thought it might be cool to see both of ya in one vid and here we are :D PS: Last Image of yours the leaf is smiling
Super photos Henry. I suggest you check out Simon Booth as well. I think you will be highly impressed with his work!
Nice video guys. I follow Nigel too, so great to have the pair of you on this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting day Henry, I liked the long distance shot, and the last one of the leaves. Just out of interest, I know you were lacking cloud, but did you not think the Langdales were wort a punt at the start? Certainly on the video they looked just lovely, especially with the pastels in the sky behind them. You are certainly having a lot of adventures this month!
Thanks mate! Yes it hey probably were worth a shot
Quite sure it lovely being there but not terribly photogenic area in snow. You certainly caught up with a few CZcamsrs lately so maybe Thomas is coming in a future video.
Really enjoyed that one Henry. Great to see CZcamsrs collaborating on videos. Hope Santa brings you a wrist strap (or camera insurance) 😅
Love the video and great to see Nigel as well. Last month I'm struggling if I sell my D850 ( 20000 clicks) or not, I also own now a Z6ii
@14.55 you cross a bridge then walk past two trees at the end of Grasmere. There's a bench that makes a good photo using the lower path as a leading line, might have been a good shot with the frost.
Another great video lucky neither of you went base over apex looking at the conditions! I don’t know if you have covered this elsewhere but why do you sometimes decide to crop to different formats in camera rather than waiting till post?
Living the dream and you get to meet one of the nicest guys in photography ya jammy git 😅
i want your job lol
Henry… great video as always. Been wondering… it looks like you have to go through some gates to get to where you want to take pictures. At these locations private property?
Thank you! No these are accessible areas
You should pick up a dedicated macro lense, I bet you would get a lot of use out it for your straight down intimate shots
👍📷😎
I think this is important to struggle sometimes. Because fotography would be way easy and would grow boring.
Is that Gandalf in the abstract shot of the trees?
Henry what drone do you have now. I didn't see it listed in your gear list.
geni.us/obTn86
Henry maybe instead of beating yourself up mate looking for perfection all the time maybe take a step back & appriciate admire wot you have around you it dosent have to be picture perfect all the time because you can't buy that feeling of being in it no picture for that mate
Failure ??? Maybe for dropping the Z7 .... certainly not for the photographs :-) Kind regards, Guy.
It looked like you was in a great looking area but not a good one for photography but you can't have it all at least you had a good photographer with you for company!
Very true
Haven’t seen any videos from Nigel lately.
He put out a new one on Sunday
Great video, great company. Nice seeing you craft shots in those conditions. Thank you.
Great to see you both together! Regarding straps, I'm a working pro and I happily ditched them many years ago. I've had sooooo many more close calls and irritations because of straps. My camera is in my hand, on the tripod/gimbal, or on the ground (or a table in the studio).
