Nazareth Gayle been asking for SO LONG for a woman of colour. There are SO many in make up, skincare etc but she just won't feature one.

Have been looking forward to the 2nd part so much. I'm definitely part of the "passed up" generation. With a beauty obsessed 15year old daughter, I'm discovering lots of new brands that I hadn't tried before. Bravo, Sally! I think you hit the nail on the head when you said we need a broader definition of beauty!! While I can appreciate a trend just like the next person, I think above all else, find whatever suits YOU best. If you can mix in a trend or two without looking "unfortunate" then well done! I think it liberating to stay true to your own beauty and focus on enhancing those assets, instead of trying to look like someone you're not.
I know it's my hangup, but I get so frustrated at seeing the current movement with sooooo many ladies (young and not-as-young) trying to conform to one single "mannequin" look. And when that mannequin happens to have so much highlighter you can signal spacecraft, a one-size-fits-all contouring placement that DOESN'T begin to suit all face shapes and features, so much bronzer to the point of looking dirty, and those harsh, overdrawn-Angry-Bird, geometric eyebrows, on top of the patchy, streaky, Oompah-Loompah fake-tanned skin, I just have to shake my head.
It is more than evident I personally don't think that look is very appealing. In fact, it gives me a creepy, Stepford Wives feeling with the aforementioned trends being so incredibly prevalent. I can't wait for the newest trends, of looking more natural, to catch on a bit quicker! I say good riddance to the "mannequin movement" and hope all those currently on the bandwagon, to save the heavy stage makeup for those performing! Let everyone's individual beauty be celebrated, without feelings of needing to conform to such a narrow definition of beauty! Another wonderful and interesting "In the Bathroom" episode! Please keep them coming!

Thank you Sali and Zanna. I have just spent a joyous hour in the bath, finally using my special Christmas bath oil and advent face mask whilst watching these 2 "in the bathrooms". I have to confess to having a bit of a binge on yourself, Caroline and Ruth these last few days whilst snowed in. I feel so positive about beauty now I've found that there is such a great bunch of inspiring women talking such sense in an industry that have has previously been so guilty of smoke and mirrors. I first found Nadine Baggott and through her the rest of you. You genuinely seem to want to educate the consumer. Would love more recommendations of like minded women to follow. Thanks again for great entertainment as well as advice. Vanessa

Hey sali, love your series, how sweet are zanna's kiddos! I would love to see your ITB series to include a person of colour... If there is no-one super prevalent in the industry who springs to mind as a good candidate, it would be great to see you talk about that as an issue. I don't know if the person videoing has changed but I found it difficult to see the products on the shelf and as much as I like Sali I don't really want to see the back of her head for half the screen!

I always thought Zanna was Scandinavian but it turns out she is from the same part of England as I am. She has definitely not got a Mancunian accent and didn’t even seem to want to talk about her roots at all 😔

poor oxford she didn’t. She said mc-grawth is the pronunciation in British RP, Sally’s accent
yes she most certainly did. listen to 16:13 and 16:16, she very clearly says mcgraw with no -th sound. And she's pronounced it as such in other videos too. you can find videos of pat saying her full name, and she doesn't pronounce her surname that way, so i'm confused as to why sali does, whether it's on purpose or not
poor oxford hmm I just hear it as a slurring of the th. Perhaps she misspoke then.

What? That's simply not true. If you watch this video: watch?v=MSz9siqfUNc - and skip to :25 seconds in, you can CLEARLY hear Pat pronounce her name and SEE her tongue make the -th sound.
