With the annual Chanel price increase, it’s understandable that people want to nurture their existing handbags; as purchasing new can be a hefty investment.
Vintage designs really do have our hearts. The craftsmanship, premium textiles and the sentimentality that’s attached to them are unmatched, but they are often in desperate need of re-nourishment and a little TLC.
This particular Classic Chanel is over 30 years old and had been well cared for by its owner; who stored it in its dustbag and kept it stuffed in between uses to protect its structure. However, it is inevitable that over the decades, it had become worn across the corners, discoloured from sun exposure and its leather oily from contact with various contaminants. As you’ll know from our previous series, we often restore Classic’s in much worse conditions, so don’t think yours is too far gone for our experts!

The sheen of the bag before the restoration had this typical worn-out colour (some red undertone). Totally loved the restoration and I really admire the the artisan's talent!👜🧡

Do you have any tips for preserving the structure of the CC tab? I keep mine with stuffing but I've noticed that the tab is starting to fold over, causing the bag to tilt forward. How do I stop this from happening and maintain it's standing position?

You should add to keep something inside while not using to keep the structure of the bag intact. Tissue, or those air pillows.

Is there a way to preserve canvas bags?
Canvas is a limited material in regards to restorations and preservation, however, we recommend concealing it in its dustbin when storing (to optimise the condition of the fabric).

@@HandbagClinicOfficial I've got a Chanel caviar bowling bag what's the cost for inside pocket nylon zipper repair ? And also replacement of outside zipper pull ? Just a guesstimate would be so appreciated as I found the purse in a box of clothes with a sign on it ...FREE ! I plucked out the bag and was gonna use it to put my tools in for my car.
