Thank you for this wonderful upload. I apprenticed under the Italian Master Restorer Aldo Pistidda, from the early to the mid 2000s. a 12-14 hour day, 6 days a week was not unheard of. Artists suffer at their own sacrifice - the agony and the ecstasy of the studio!~
Tom was a working class hero . and never had any heirs or gracies . he still lives on and i hope more classes will be found i know he did van gogh paintings to.
This man really knew what he was talking about, you could see by the way he went about cleaning this painting that he had done it many times before. If I might add please do not try and clean paintings Tom makes it look so easy it is not.
My father painted many pictures years ago that I love but are now flaking. Over several moves I have noticed that the canvas is slacker than before. I am not wealthy so I cannot afford to have them restored now, but would like to stabilize the paint so that there will be something left to restore. What do you recommend?
Thank you for all six uploads, which I snarfed up in one sitting.

Such a knowledgeable and humble man. Having those traits together isn't valued much these days.

That was hilarious! He has the most tongue in cheek humour I've seen.
his voice sends me to sleep... a bit like his artwork and the opening music.
Probably for the best, you wouldn't want to risk learning something from him.
he is a copy artist. old fashioned and unknown..
