Chaserider 625 Volvo B7RLE (ZF/€3) MX06VPY - Musical Acquisition

- A surprising yet welcomed addition to the Cannock based Chaserider fleet is this well-travelled Volvo B7RLE. New to First Manchester as 69200, it passed to Go North West and was acquired by Connexions, where it was loaned to various operators. Last with City Transport Group, it entered service in the Midlands on 24/2/23.
With a musical ZF Ecomat and much axle whine, it made for a lovely journey on what is now one of its common haunts in the 826/8 corridor from Lichfield to Cannock.
This bus was serving route 828: Lichfield Bus Station to Stafford, Gaol Square
Via: Handsacre, Brereton, Rugeley, Springfields, Colwich, Great Haywood and Stafford Hospital
Filmed in March 2023 along the entire route.

I'm mates with James Fairchild, one of City Transport's onwers, and I remember going on a deadrun with him in this back last year. Glad to see it's ended up in good hands :)
Lovely! It’s a shame Chaserider never bought any of the ex NX B7’s as they would have been reliable and more welcomed than some of their Solo’s! Wonder if they’ll acquire anymore ex First B7’s?
That’s a good thought regarding the NX B7s, would’ve been good to see and like you say far more suitable than Solos ! There is more of these ex First ones on the market so it’s possible, especially with some fleet changes needed in the wider D&G group when they takeover some Arriva Cheshire routes.
@@EnviroExplorer Think they've gone for a few E200s the PVR increase is 12 but might be more.
Nice-sounding bus with a seemingly well-maintained interior and exterior (must have been refurbished recently 🤔).
Surprisingly not refurbished recently at all, just well looked after ! The white repaint is only a few years old though
@@EnviroExplorer However, the condition of the bus makes it seem like it was recently refurbished. Chaserider must have taken very good care of this B7RLE!
