- Good day all. This is an "un-reherased" demo of Stability at angle of loll versus angle of list. I wanted to improve on this, but time was not my side. What the heck. Let the raw video stand on its own feet. Not like a ship with negative GM. We had so many cases in 2022 of ships capsizing alongside - especially container carriers. The " ONE" case of 2000 containers lost overboard is a pointer in reckoning. Guys talk of parametric rolling, No one talks about negative GM induced by the underwater geometry which is dynamic and ever changing. More later, time permitting.
To simple5907, Thanks for your compliment. As regards finding actual GM on timer ships and even containerships use the "list" method. Ballast a side tank, check list by reading midship drafts or a good clinometer. This is an accurate method if you find the list angle using P/S misdship draft instead of a small clinometer. It is accurate and practical ----After all inclining experiment to determine KG of the lightship uses list formula! sad that many believe their loadicators or programs blindly.

Excellent explanation Mr. Kumar, as to your question how will we know the actual GM at sea, I suggest rolling period will give some idea.. but definitely not a waterproof method.
