If you do an act of being with multiple people out of lust, it is adharma no matter which gender. And polyandry existed back then, apparently. Not common, maybe, but it did. So, my interpretation of this whole thing was, Krishna was not calling the act of marrying multiple men adharma, but the situation in which it had to happen was. Draupadi and Arjun were supposed to be married, but then, her being asked to share (against her will initially) is most definitely wrong. He can't term the whole circumstance as dharma overall, now can he? But, because the core of Draupadi's action highly relied on compassion, i.e, core of Dharma itself. So, the act is pure, is what he tries to tell her.
