- "King of Romance", Gemini Ganesan known as one of the "big three" of South Indian Cinema (the other two being M.G. Ramchandran, and Sivaji Ganesan).
Ramaswamy Ganesan had acted in several box-office hits between 1950 and 1978 as the lead hero. Born on November 17th,1920 he was a graduate from an orthodox Brahmin family, and had begun his career as a Lecturer in the Madras Christian College, but subsequently began to work with Gemini Studios as an Executive from 1947, hence he was referred to as "Gemini" Ganesan.
A Padmasree recipient in 1971, Ganesan also won the Kalaimamani, MGR Gold Medal and Screen Life Time Achievement awards.

Sowkar is a great lady I adore her views.I agree with her that Gemini mama evoked love and joy.I know in Malaysia here from my elder sister to many others he was a loveable man.In love scenes his eye movements and smile evokes every human no hugging no kissing ...Kalathur Kannamma, Then Nilavu are classic examples.I know how many wept profusely in the theatre for him in Kalyana Parisu.No other star could evoke this feeling.I am grateful to God for having seen him and the other two gems MGR and Shivaji in person here though not a handshake or photo. I have seen here that he never forgot his religious duties.That truly was his greatness.Lets see him as a man who showered love to us.God Bless his family.God willing some day after this epidemic is over, I will be able to meet at least Dr Kamala as I see Gemini shining in her heart

K.R.Vijaya photo was given to K.S.Gopalakrishnan after attending a dance programme in Island grounds Chennai. She got chance in Karpagam. Kutty Padmini also speaks well of him.Yes.Savitri was alright .But success in Telugu films and Tamil made her lose caution. She became arrogant and fell in bad conpany.It is told that Gemini wanted daughter of Savitri to be educated like his other daughters.But Savitri did not listen and married her off.Gemini boycotted marriage and went to South Africa for programme! Savitri is responsible for her downfall.
