Nach dem Party-Knüller "Bye Bye Caroline" präsentieren Gotthard diesen Freitag ihre zweite Single aus dem kommenden Unplugged-Album "Defrosted 2". Die neue Single "What I Wouldn't Give" ist eine wuchtige Ballade, wie man es sich von Gotthard gewohnt ist. Der Track reisst Rock- und Gotthardfans in einer mächtigen Woge von Emotionen mit und entpuppt sich als die Winterballade schlechthin - perfekt für die kommende Weihnachtszeit.
Die ausgekoppelte Single erscheint genau vier Wochen vor dem grossen Release von "Defrosted 2“. Damit veröffentlichen Gotthard am 7. Dezember 2018 eine ultimative Unplugged-Auswahl der grössten Gotthard-Hits, aufgenommen während der „Defrosted Tour“ im Frühling/Sommer 2018. Es ist die emotionale Momentaufnahme einer aussergewöhnlichen Karriere mit grossen Momenten, leisen Erinnerungen und unübertroffenen Riffs. Das Live-Album bringt die 22 besten Tracks der Tessiner Rock-Gruppe sowie zwei brandneue Songs - „What I Wouldn’t Give“ und „Bye Bye Caroline“.
Mit „Defrosted“ veröffentlichten Gotthard 1997 ihr erstes Live-Album überhaupt. Steve Lee was great, no denying that. And his voice was perfect for the music that they created when he fronted the band. His loss was tragic...
But Gotthard 2.0 is ALSO effing fantastic with Nic. It's different, yes, but listen to this song and tell me it's not great. It is great, as are the other tracks in the past few albums.

Glad to see some appreciation on here for Nic. He's a great singer! Nothing against Steve, he was great too. But for all those hailing Romero as a better replacement for Steve, I got one question: If Romero sounds so much like Steve... was Steve's voice really all that unique? I think not. Steve Perry sounds similar. At times so does Steven Tyler. And David Coverdale. Nothing wrong with that, all are great vocalists. But, for me, Nic's voice has a more distinctive sound and a bit more personality. Plus, he adds a third guitar. Not your everyday talent. After all, what would you have the band to do? Give up after losing Steve? Or continue into a new era? I'm glad Gotthard is still going strong with an excellent front man!
Ok, nothing to say against the voice of Nic, but the problem is that after Steve were not written those immense songs that we all remember from this band ... the inspiration, unfortunately, is no longer the same.
@@EXTINCTION-Italy I get it. And I can relate. For instance, I'm a big Warrant fan. When I first heard them with current singer Robert Mason I thought, "It ain't Jani Lane so it ain't Warrant." But, after I gave him a fair chance, I liked *many* songs on Rockaholic - and "Life's A Song" was my song of the year 2011. Gotthard has, for me anyway, a long list of (to borrow your term) "immense" songs with both vocalists. I wish every Gotthard fan could enjoy both eras because I hope to see the band continue to write, record, and prosper.

It's true that Ronnie Romero's voice is similar to Steve's. But something that made Steve unique (at least for me), was his stage performance, because as a frontman he was very energetic and warm at the same time. Anyway, I love Gotthard whether it's the Steve's or Nic's era. Nic has his own style and Bang was a great album. Silver, on the other hand, didn't do it for me.

This band are better than they know, yes, they had probably the best vocal talent since Freddie Mercury...sadly, he has passed, truly a tragedy....but, Nic has added a different vibe, and the band continue, in my opinion, to evolve brilliantly. I know alot say it would have been great to have had Ronnie Romero as vocalist but, again in my opinion, his style is too similar to Steves. What they are doing with Core Leoni is brilliant, a different feel to an earlier Gotthard ,who I guess were at the time finding their true path. So, please stop looking back and look forward to the future Gotthard (and CoreLeoni!) and enjoy one of the best acts on the planet x

Nic Maeder is a seriously unappreciated vocalist.
Sorry , aber wer einmal CoreLeoni live gehört hat, wünscht sich Ronnie Romero als Sänger bei Gotthard. Denn bei aller Liebe, Nic Meader (ist wirklich ein guter Sänger) gibt mir nicht das Gefühl Gotthard zu hören sondern irgendeine Softrockband...Leider hat Ronnie Romero seine eigene Band und ist auch noch der Frontman bei Rainbow, also daher sehr unwahrscheinlich...aber ich hoffe das es noch ein Part 2 bei CoreLeoni geben wird, und dann wieder mit Ronnie Romero als Sänger.
Das ist was Gotthard ja wollte. Ein Sänger mit einer anderen Stimme und nicht mit einer ähnlichen. KLAR jeder wünscht sich Ronnie aber so wie es jetzt ist. Ist es Perfekt
Mir gehen diese "Ich will Ronnie als Leadsänger" auf den Sack. Ich wette ein Großteil dieser Leute hätten sich beklagt, daß Ronnie versucht Steve zu imitieren. Ich vermisse Steve auch und finde Ronnie's Stimme großartig, aber solange Leo lieber der guten alten Zeit nachtrauert anstatt mit der Band wieder musikalisch in diese Richtig zu gehen, würde auch ein Ronnie nichts an der musikalischen Situation ändern.

Deswegen gehen mit diese "Ich will Ronnie als Gotthard-Sänger" auch auf den Sack, weil es nichts daran ändert, daß Steve tot ist und auch nie durch irgendjemanden ersetzt werden kann. Auch ned von Ronnie, trotz seiner zugegeben geilen Stimme... Für mich ist es seit Steve's Tod Gotthard 2.0
