I love your new plans which seem very reasonable for present and future. I'm secretly excited that you are building a new tiny because I'm in love with tinys and I can't wait to follow the step by step building process.
I'm like you, living in a one room studio, no car, no money and I'm ok with that. My joy is not in what I own but the people I love and help as well as my projects. Take great care of yourself, my friend 🙏💙💫

Hi Moose! That land is so beautiful that you are staying right now! I sure do miss the east and all of its greenery. I too like a life of changes. Just circumstances keep me from wandering too much. You know , life is short , so I understand your wanderlust and your adventurous side. I am glad you can get deliveries from Lowes/Home Depot, etc. I use their delivery systems almost exclusively now when I order things. Often, with the smaller items, there's not even a delivery charge. (I don't understand how, but , oh well...gift horse.etc).
Having a vehicle is so expensive these days. Beyond the cost of buying one, there's the insurance and maintenance. $$$$ flying out the window.! Anyway, I am excited to watch your build , and to see you taking your time to enjoy the build==all good too. You make me wish I could do that. So hopefully the boat sells and that will give you a bit of a nest egg for your projects. Great to see you again Moose, and may each day bring you happiness and love! 🥰👋👋👍👍

You poor thing. I think all of us viewing knew the rebuilding of a worm-infested boat and sailing it around the world, would never happen. Do indeed take the advice of a group of trusted friends, as you mentioned you would start doing. And, I suggest you should do exactly what they say. Do not just treat their directions as just some ideas to consider. Follow their plans from a high level and then you make the decisions about how to execute the overall plan. This way, you have a solid direction to pursue, but you don’t bother them with all the details. This is critical, because, you my friend, are your own worst enemy and the life-decisions you keep making have put you on a perpetual path of continual failure. You seem to have figured this out and showed strength in communicating that difficult message. So, that’s good. Good luck and we’ll be pulling for your future success.

Now that you understand your condition, you can move forward as you now are doing. You said you have purchased a trailer. I like my 10x24 wood framed, tiny house but if I had to start over I think I would use a smaller cargo trailer or the box off of an old box truck? I find I spend 99% of my home time in a space 8x16. I'm pretty sure there are people near you in Georgia that have been living in the same 'travel trailer' for over 30 years. Converting a cargo trailer to a 'camper' is a lot less physical work than building a tiny house (I've done both.). Cargo trailers are built better than travel trailers, or mobile homes, and you can insulate them like an ice cream freezer truck. 🤪

It was probably nice while it lasted. The sad truth is that time is not on your or my side. Would it be possible for you to get a elderly apartment style rental that takes your income into consideration? Possibly in a elderly community? I am concerned that you will put all your money into a tiny house and not be able to afford a place to put it or transportation. When you first bought the boat, I thought it might have been close to one of your daughters in Florida. But it obviously was not. I am thinking about what happens a little later down the road. Maybe you could build the tiny home and later sell it for more money? The intentionally created higher cost of living is putting stress on people with fixed incomes. We have a lot of people that come to our area from larger cities to beg for money. They all stand at the same exact locations and create the same kind of signs. While watching them I have noticed the people that seem to be living in their vehicles that don't beg. We now have a older man living in a old RR building next to the tracks. He can be seen dumpster diving at times. A manager at the local Walmart told me they had a woman living in their parking lot for 8 months. She refused to take help. One woman was living in the local park with her son after being thrown out of their rental. She died in her vehicle. You aren't all the way down yet. Be careful. Another option might be buying van or a used Class C with the boat money. But I would look into the elderly housing that takes your income into consideration.

Moose been following your channel for years. I’m only gonna tell you the truth as I see it as I continue to follow your channel. If at any point YOU want me to stop I will. I see you are in north Georgia I’m in Atlanta metro. So at least you are not going to build an observatory with an extremely expensive telescope in an area that is cloudy a great deal of the time even though it was an area you were familiar with ? And you not going to put a tiny house somewhere that seems to get three or four feet of snow in the winter to the point that an old man like you or myself can’t shovel the snow. And you are not going to go thru all this stuff with the sailboat knowing at the end of the day your eyesight is failing and you had to know this really wasn’t ever going to happen? Now I hope you can financially recover some of this sailboat cost but I suspect break even is the best you can hope for. Some people love watching a train wreck but don’t confuse that with people that love trains.

    • @MooseHenderson1

I think, at best, I will recover what I paid for the boat but never recover the investment in other items added to the boat or improvements. I am okay with recovering nothing, this was my mistake and I must move forward and not wallow in pity over a terrible mistake.
