I’m pretty sure they’d have evolved into a jam band - the rock equivalent of a string quartet - had Freddie survived. They just had that kind of chemistry.

I love that you did this. When I first heard this I was struck by Freddie’s voice how pure and true it was. The song has such an atmosphere about it like it’s some kind of medieval tale of Knights and their ladies.
To think this is live is astounding. This is better than the recording. Imagine sitting in that audience and having this performance going on. The music is mystical. It’s like it weaves a spell. You don’t want it to end. Thank you for doing this.

Your question: “Did he sing every song like this???”
    Answer: “Yes, and then some.”
Freddie poured his heart and soul into every single performance. He wanted the people in the audience to get good value for the price of the ticket; he wanted the concert experience to be somewhat different than listening to their recordings. But I think it was more than that-Freddie was a true artist and always performed each song by expressing the particular emotion behind each song as he sang. It sounds like something obvious and easy and her few performers actually do it. Probably cuz it’s exhausting and hard to conjure that emotion the 1000th time you have sung that song. But Freddie always brought it. I, for one, am very thankful that I was alive at a time to have witnessed his genius! Thanks for doing this reaction!

It was written by Brian for his previous band “Smile” in 1968, several years before the band “Queen” would be created in 1970.
Queen's catalog of music is wide and varied. It includes soft rock, hard rock, progressive rock, thrash rock, area rock, rockabilly, R&B, blues, gospel, disco, jazz, folk, ragtime, opera, ballads, British music hall tunes, etc, and songs combining any number of these genders (i.e "T.he March of the Black Queen" - czcams.com/video/SoBMhx_ap_g/video.html which is too complex to ever perform live)
One of my favorite of Queen's early songs is called "Liar" - czcams.com/video/FK9YSri2xNQ/video.html.
Also, I love this medley of 3 songs "In The Lap of The Gods - Revisited", "Seven Seas of Rhye", and "Tear It Up" - czcams.com/video/sb-uUzLu3Wc/video.html

Magical, powerful, compelling, passionate, apparition-like song. So glad you reviewed "White Queen", because I'm not sure I've heard anyone touch this beautiful ballad. So many of Queen's songs are underrated, and this certainly is one of them. In 1975, Freddie's voice was crystal clear, with the ability to traverse octaves easily, and hold notes endlessly. As he sings "White Queen," Freddie draws you into a mystical realm with his amorous and erotic voice. Unfortunately, he started smoking cigarettes, and he developed the dreaded vocal nodes. As time progressed, Freddie developed his signature "growl", which is also quite appealing. In this song, let's not forget about Freddie's ardent and intense piano playing that is absolutely mesmerizing. Freddie easily could have been a concert pianist. Thank you, Salvo, for reviewing this song.

One of the best songs by Queen (Brian May) and sung by the best singer ever. I’m a HUGE Freddie fan! I have about 30 Freddie dolls, pictures of him on my walls (a few hand painted) and jewelry of him as well! Only wish I could have seen them in person. The band now to me is not as good as when Freddie was alive. Maybe if they wrote new songs, I might like them a bit better. You made me cry as I felt your emotions as they resemble mine!

What we can say is that Freddie was feeling music with is body and was able to translate it with his voice, yes very underrated song and there are many more : check out Somebody to love in Montreal 1981 or Love of my life, or Another one by the dust, or Bohemian Rhapsody, same concert… Queen is often better live

Best live performance off Queen! I’m a big fan, but this performance kills me! I’m listening and listening…the whole band is perfect here.

This is "the" definitive live version of this song. I saw it live twice on this tour in 1975.

Whenever I hear this and Freddie describing the White Queen walking in light always makes me think of Galadriel walking through Lothlorien.

This is an outstanding performance by the entire band from start to finish. The only thing wrong with this video is the cameraperson never focuses on Brian as he is absolutely shredding his guitar during that long instrumental portion. Very disappointing, fire that guy or girl!! Brian wrote this song about a girl in one of his college classes who he was interested in but didn't have the nerve to ask out. Beautiful song, unbelievable live performance. Queen...What a great band! Thank you for your reaction.

Great reaction...Brian May wrote “White Queen” about a girl in his university ...he really liked her but didn’t have the courage to approach her..believe it or not ”Black Queen” is featured in the game “Final Fantasy” V111...Queen is everywhere🤩

This is classic Queen in their early/mid 70's progressive phase from their brilliant second album "Queen 2", they'd just released "A Night at the Opera" and the world was mesmerized by the brilliance of "Bohemian Rhapsody". It was billed as "The Night at the Opera tour", I was 15 and saw them in Sydney in April '76 at the end of the tour. It was utterly phenomenal!!! Freddy had the audience in the palm of his hand, Brian sounded like 3 guitarists in one, what a genius that man is!! And Roger and John just rocked out to the max, it was so electrifying. Have a listen to the concert opener "Now I'm here", another Brian May gem from their third album "Sheer heart attack", czcams.com/video/k3C7CPAAPks/video.html Cheers

Yes White Queen is one of my favs- Freddie puts all his emotions into his singing- this is tearing your soul out of your body!! Play ‘March of the Black Queen”. Body Language is also a different type of Queen@ rather sexual but then it’s rock! Just for fun and watching Freddie with his friends at his 39th birthday party- Freddie pulls out all the stops- fabulous and cheeky !, called Living on my Own@ please check through the videos offered up because some are abstract and poor quality but you can find the clear one@-- cheeky Freddie!💛🍑

Yeah you’ve got to do march of the black queen. Precursor to bohemian rhapsody. Freddie’s first coming out song.
These guys were the best of their time from the beginning to end. Wholly unique. Learn about Brian’s guitar. It’s unique sound and Freddie’s unique voice made for magic.
