    Had left a comment in another glass project of yours I absolutely fell in love with (in it I also mentioned I'm making a table top with Swatch watches and then resin). I'm definitely working on smaller projects now to practice and am working up to the table. Meanwhile I'm having lots of fun with resin and molds - this butterfly may very well be my first step to get closer to the table top. I have a family member who adores butterflies and moths and this project, though small, will launch my next steps all the while getting me closer to the table pour. I'm so excited because it's all going so well. Wish I could show you and learn faster from your great videos. I watch them all and love each one. You are so super clever and explain everything well. So glad I found you.

      Did you ever make your watch table?

    • @DressYourHorse
      @DressYourHorse Před rokem

       I'm still agonizing over the resin pour. Finished the design with the watches, and added many small jewelry turtles. The basic table is white. I also picked up some soft colored broken glass but have not added it yet. I love this project and know I'm onto something unique and one of a kind. My fear is ruining it by applying resin. The more I looked into resin, the more I became afraid of ruining the table. I've watched your videos for months now; even joined your FB group. You inspire me and I'm struck by your ease with resin. But I'm still stuck. Love the fact that you remembered and asked about this project.

      Have you ever watched how people do mosaics with the grout if you’re afraid of the resin that might be the way to go

    • @DressYourHorse

      @@crazyglasslady Lovely to hear back from you, thanks so much. I do stained glass both with solder and also grout. Did a floor and an entire kitchen in glass and tile. So I'm very comfortable with grout. Unfortunately, the table has some depth to it and it would probably be considered a deep pour. I'd have to do it in stages. That means I'd need specific resin and the size of the table top together with the depth is causing my worries. I'd be so bummed if I had tons of bubbles or if it became icky yellow. Yes, I've been learning all about resin. Worse yet, if I did not have the correct temperature in the house it might also not harden properly. Then I thought of finding someone to do the pour that is in the business. Haven't looked hard enough to find a place. Anyway, you've put my mind on this project again and I really really do want to complete this thing. Thanks a lot!

    Can someone tell me if you have to cover the whole window with resin or can you just drizzle over glass flowers

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Před rokem +1

      When you put the rain stone chains around it it may be possible to keep the resin within the boundaries of the rhinestone chain the thinner the resin is the more it will run. If you let it sit for about 20 minutes or more depending on your work time with the resin you may be able to keep it from spreading onto the glass but once it gets onto the glass, you will be able to see where it starts and stops so you might want to just put a thin layer on all of the Glass.

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Před rokem +1

      I do the resin in a back room but I use art resin which has no VOC you don't need to wear a respirator even though I do. I used to use other resins before I realized how dangerous some can be if not done using a respirator or outdoors.
      They have there own CZcams channel called Art resin (of course) Lol the have a video on it about safety and resins and how you can tell how safe various resin are

    How did you get the glass to stick

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Před 11 měsíci

      So the rhinestone chain is held down with glue Elmer's glue . In this one I used regular elmers glue but now I use the clear elmers glue because it dries perfectly clear and will not show under resin. Then the glass was held down with resin. Watch the video I explain everything step by steo.

    Could you show using the heat gun to remove bubbles??

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Před rokem

      In this video I use the kitchen torch but in earlier videos I do use a heat gun and in some more recent videos I use an embosser which is smaller and is also a heat gun that puts out less air and you can control the area the heat goes to more easily then the big heat guns. I stopped using the big heat gun because it's cumbersome and it blows the glass around . I actually prefer the kitchen torch which I used in this video.
