- I picked up this Duraflame infrared electric heater for free because the light for the fire illusion wasn't working (and it is July). Let's see if we can relight the fire.
The model number is DFI-7025-01. I currently cannot find the Amazon link. As soon as I do, I will update the description.

Nothing like going the long way around the barn to fix something ✌️❤️
Exactly what I was looking for. Great video thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
This video was just what I needed.. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Your video answered my repair questions and my duraflame is warming once again!
Congrats on your success!. Glad the video helped
Thank you so much!! I have this exact kind and it went out. Ill have my fireplace back tonight.
Glad the video helped!
you are the best!! i was able to fix my electric heater!
Glad I could help!
Thanks! Our light went out yesterday, and will be back in service today! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great! Glad the video helped!
Thank you. I found out my problem on mine. That was given to me. I was going to toss it. But thanks to you, I love it!!! 👍
Glad I could help!
YAY! Thank you so much! I can have my flame again!
Glad I could help!
Thank you! Really helpful!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks so much... now , I will have my 10 year old fix it for me... it's cute addition to his little lego corner so he can create and be warm and "proud" of fixing his own little heater.
That's cool! glad the video helped.
Easy fix! Thanks!
You're welcome!
What a find and easy "fix!" If I were the folks that gave this away because it was "broken;" I'd be like 🤦♀️! Lol.
Yes, I wish they were all like this.
I own 3 different styles of the power zone electric stove heaters. I have to clean it and replace the bulbs every winter. I enjoy mine.
Thank you! I just turned on my electric fireplace just like this one and the lights/flames were out. Hopped on CZcams to find a solution and yours was the first video that popped up. Simple enough, even for a girl 😂 I got mine at a local thrift store a couple of years ago in like brand new condition, heater and flames both working fine (until today when lights went out/bulb blew). I think they had it priced for around $15 and I ended up getting it for $10. I’m like you, love my freebies and deals! Take care ❤
You are welcome. I am glad you found it helpful!
Did your heater have to be replaced that's the problem I. Having the blower works yr usnt suppose to light up
Thank so much! This is exactly the video I needed. I thought mine was broken. My favorite heater! New ones are shockingly between $145-$160 now! Bought mine in 2021 for $80! Thanks again!
Glad it helped!
I have the identical heater. I glued 3 small pieces of wood on top of the plastic "fire". It improved the illusion.
Nice modification. 😊
Thank you so much for posting this video! I have virtually the same heater and noticed after a year the "flames" would sometimes not work unless I closed the door hard. I should have realized then it was an issue with the bulb's filament. I'm relieved that it's a simple fix because I love my heater! Using it right now on this cold morning and will be getting that replacement bulb asap!
Glad you found the video helpful, thanks.
Thank you soooooo much !! 😉I was able to fix my heater too .. I have the same brand ! Thought I had to go buy another one 😬
Glad I could help!
Thank you for showing the bulb repair. I have the same unit and today the flame stopped working. Had the unit for 5/6 years. Worked great.
Hopefully, my problem is the same issue. Thank you!
Hope it works out for you!
Can actually lift the plastic fake log panel up just enough to change bulb as well
I will have to check that out. I was surprised that there wasn't some kind of an access panel to change the bulb.
There are two screws holding the plastic fake logs. Much easier access to the bulbs that way.
I didn't even have screws in mine, just pulled them out and there was the bulb!!
What I feared. Hate screws.

*"Hello, welcome to the Fix'n Shit'*
It does kind of sound like that, and oddly accurate
@@TheFixitShed lol. In all seriousness you have been a tremendous help brother, thank you.
@@user-sg2yt6nc1z I am glad the videos were useful! Thanks!
On mine you just take the plastic logs out to replace the bulb. But my togo switch stopped working on the heater. I noticed a spring laying down in the bottom but don't know how it hooks up
I think I tried to access from the front, but didn't have any luck. It wouls make sense to have easier access. Some models have an access panel on the back to make it easier. I don't have this heater anymore to check it out.
Thanks. Great video. With the heat turned off, after replacing the bulb a terrible noise was heard. On the opposite end of the flame spindle from the motor, I noticed a lot of excess grease. Where did that come from? This fireplace is 5 years old and has had 2 bulb replacements and a splindle motor replaced. I feel I should clean the grease. I'm afraid if I do the unit may not be safe. What do you think? Is my fireplace dead? Where did the grease come from?
Padma (Nothing like a man around the house!)
Cleaning the crease off should not hurt anything. Not sure where it came from. I don't have this heater that I cal look at it anymore to help figure it out. Did it stop working after the noise?
Extremely Helpful!!!
Though the switch to turn on the heat component is not working. Is this fixable?
Thank You!!! 😊
Replacing the switch shouldn't be too difficult. Finding the right switch might be the hardest part. If you can find a website for the manufacturer of your heater, they may have a parts list you can look up and find the correct switch you need. I am not sure if the switches unplug or are soldered in. Uf the unplug, that is easy. If you have to solder them in, that may be more challenging, depending on your skill set.
It's a rheostat. Used to hang on the rack at Radio Shack.
I’ve got a similar one also Dura flame and it blows cold air. I would love to know how to fix the heating element
I believe the elements are replaceable, but if none of them are heating up it may be a problem with the control electronics or the thermostat. Hard to say without being able to look at it.
Boy they really want you to throw it away and buy a new one. Otherwise they would have engineered it to be a lot easier to replace the bulb. Thanks for showing this. I will attempt to change it myself.
They really tried to keep costs down. Should be easier access.
@@TheFixitShed I do understand the need to keep cost down. Just saying- probably less than a buck to put in a “hatch.” Oh well I still will give it a try.
it has a phillips screw and another crew looks like a allen key screw what do i need that 'em all off not just phillips kn but both
I am not sure what the other one you have is. I don't have this heater anymore, so I can't check on mine.
I have one of these but I can’t get the auto on and off to work, it just keeps warming up forever. Am i just doing it wrong??
If you turn the temp setting all the way down and it doesn't ever shut down, there is a problem with the thermostat. You could try just making sure all of the dust is out of it (as in the video), but more than likely, dust build up would have the opposite effect.
40 w blubs btw
I replace the bulb but it still doesn't work I was wondering is there a fuse inside of it
Not that I am aware of, but not 100% sure. Unfortunatly, I no longer have this heater to verify.
Any info if he heater part not working?
If the fan isn't working, it can cause the heating elements to trigger the safety shut down right away, so check the fan. If the fan is blowing, but the elemnts don't heat up, some of these heaters have replaceable element. you can check those. If you have a circuit tester, they should test for continuity, if they don't try new elements. You can see me do this test on a different kind of heater here czcams.com/video/8XBPgxr4WGY/video.html
What about the motor for the flames not working?
I am probably not going to be much help. I would check all the electrical connections. Make sure nothng came loose. If it is actually the motor that burned up, you might be able to find a replacement online, but I doubt it will be cost evvective. I don't have mine anymore, so I cannot look at it for reference.
Hello I have a Duraflame Electric Infrared Quartz Fireplace Stove with 3D Flame Effect and heater isn’t working. An error message (E3) appears. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
E3 means it is over heating. the manual says "Inspect the heater and check that the air inlets and outlets are not blockedas this may cause overheating. Unplug the heater for 5 minutes and allow it to cool down. Replug and operate, monitor the heater for signs of overheating, if the problem persist discontinue use of the heater and contact customer service"
Thank you
What is an easy fix for why the little rotary arm won't turn to make the light flicker?
Did the arm come loose from the motor, or is the motor not working? I don't don't have this heater to reference anymore.
I fixed it lol. They arm wasn't turning, so I put lots of DW40 and where the stem meets the little motor worked it in a little bit, and problem solved. Thanks anyway.
@@poetfederico Glad you fixed it!!
Hi I have a question. I have a heater like that but mines is smaller. The heat that comes out it hot and my floor gets hot where it blows at. Is there anything I can do to make sure my floor will be safe. Thank u for a answer
Best would be to have some sort of hearth underneath it. Made of brick, stone, or ceramic tile
@@TheFixitShed thank u so very much.
i have this heater it worked fine last night i went to turn it on this morning the on switch just springs back to off the heater doesn't even try to turn on. i unplugged it let it set and tried again still the same. any sugestions?
I have another heater with the same issue, except it is stuck on instead of off. I am just using a power strip to turn it off for now, but need to replace the switch. I suspect that will fix your issue as well.
That's the heaters limit switch. There is a short in the wiring. Toss it out.
I attempted to do this on one of similar heaters but there were no bulbs inside only an electronic panel...any ideas?
Is it possible that it was an LED? Not a bulb, but just a diode on the circuit board?
@@TheFixitShed yes
So I have the same problem with no lights working, but heat still works. I changed my bulbs and the light still won’t turn on. Any solutions?
It is really hard to say. It sounds like you have a different heater from the one in the video that has more than one bulb. I would would probably start by checking for loose wires.
In my owners manual it says it's the "Dimmer Switch" cause mine wasn't the bulb either. I'm here trying to find out how to take it apart to get to it.
The fan on ours stopped working.
That is unfortunate. I don't know that I am going to be of much help, as I don't have that heater any more. I do have another heater that has a fan that isn't working, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Hopefully I will get a video up of that one in the next couple of weeks.
What do I do when the legs won't align with the screw holes?
I am guessing you bought a new one and are trying to assemble it out of the box. You could drill new holes for the screws that don't line up. If it is like mine, the metal should be pretty easy to drill through. Just be careful. Make sure it is unplugged and that there is nothing on the inside you might actually drill into. Option 2 - Return it to the store.
@@TheFixitShed thanks you for replying so fast but my mom got mad and pushed a little hard and it went in, and then as we where putting it into my room she accidentally hit the leg of it on the wall and it broke but we just tightened it more and it works.
@@ynb_clipz Glad you were able to figure it out!
What about one where the 1000W button won’t flip anymore?
I have a similar problem woth a different heater, except it is with the on/off switch. I have to find a replacement switch for it. I have been getting by with just unplugging it, but that won't help you. Is your button jammed and doesn't move, or can you press it, but it won't stay flipped?
@@TheFixitShed yeah mines a different one too. Mine has an on and off switch too but that works. The flame light turns on n everything. But no heat comes from it.
I don’t think my 1000W button is jammed bc I’m able to press it down, but it won’t stay flipped 🥲
Oh simply problem. I almost threw mine away
Glad the video helped!
The cord has been cut off
That is unfortunate, but hopefully not too hard to fix.
no heat
Does the fan run? I had one that the fan wasn't running so the elements would heat up and then immediately shut off. The pronlem was the fan.
Mine was working fine until my toddler jumped off it and now my lights won't come on. Smh.
that is unfortuante. Did changing the bulb help?
@@TheFixitShed Yes I changed the bulbs and still nothing. I'm ready to cry. Loved it!♥️ Lol
I thought u said THE FIXING SH*T lol
You aren't the first. I'll have to be more careful.
@@TheFixitShed love it either way.
