Great team
Nice video Roger. I like the companionship between the two of you.
Please do more of these buddy videos. Enjoying it to bits.
Keep them coming Guy's I am on my way, I should be there in Approx 18hrs
I did notice that Steve seemed to enjoy your “Big Bird” rock spikes Roger… so much so he even found his own pair……LOL! Safety is huge along the rocks and this video surely pushed that forward….Great session and great cook up….thanks for sharing Roger.
Thanks Mark 😊
Beautiful fish and cook on the rocks 🌊🌊🌊🌊🎣🎣🎣🌮🌮🌮
Roger simple basic? I think your cook up is top notch, my version of high end is a roll of foil but most often bang em in the coals.
You guys work well together in your videos.
Thanks
That leatherjacket was beautiful!
Good session, chaps. Enjoyed it immensely.
Couldn't help but notice there, Roger, you have pretty deft and fast, dance moves (about 26 minutes in). The girls will fill your dance card very quickly. 😁
Thanks 👍
Two awesome men...who happen to be excellent fishermen.
So delicious to see the tacos 🎉
Rising levels in content, applause to all that join you Rodger love it
Great session you both, I love it when you team up.
The cook up looked tasty.

First comment! Go Roger, love your work mate

Learning heaps from you 👍🏼
Nice one guys....I just ate and I'm hungry again...lol

What an absolutely beautiful video...when everything on the net right now is all about war and politics, this was just what i needed to see ....to old blokes enjoying fishing and a feed👏👏
Hey Rodger thanks for the video! I was wondering how far do you set your float stopper? Is there a general guide? thank you!
Really enjoyed that vid, thanks guy's.
Great to see all the species
Another cracking educational video, steve is an awesome guest too 👍
Absolutely
Good video again, Roger. The water looked good. The fish looked good. I've just had fish as well ....hoki!!!

I'll join if you pay the airfares from Brisbane for my wife and myself and a limo from Sydney airport??
Hi Geoff, classic thanks

Good to see you back.

Thank you so much Roger.
You are the best at you do, the bad thing you just made me hungry 😂😂. Using your teaching lesson i have manage to hook breams (blacktail) and 36 cm shephead on rocks thanks a lot

Thanks mate, back every week starting next Saturday
Nice fish Roger
Nice fish Steve
Heading to Little Bay in the morn. Thanks boys. Now I'm revved! True knowledge 😊😊😊😊 ps... I wear old cricket shoes with champion spikes on the rocks. Works well.
Have fun!
Great day fishing . I have caught a few drumer and they are brutes
Yes they are
Thanks for another one Roger. Gotta say, it's a bit strange seeing yours and Starlo's (near) identical videos about the same trip both released within a couple of days, Seen one, seen them both.
You’ve got to remember that while there’s some overlap in audience we each also have our own subscriber base. We don’t expect many people to watch BOTH, but of course, you’re more than welcome to! 😉
@@StarloGetsReel Fair enough!
"I've hooked Australia" 😂
The comment I was looking for 😂
Second comment. Love this team!
Us too!
My 10 year old son wants to fish off the rocks for tuna is this something we can do safely love your videos thanks for all the tips
👍🐟🏋️
Superb
Im new as, watch the swell and follow up sets
My favourite type of fishing...very nice fellas!
Went Drummer fishing with a buddy a few weeks ago. Lost 20 rigs and caught a dozen rockies. No Drummer.
It’s always good to be out there and you are always learning
@terrysmith7740 This is where the float can help (I thought Roger would say that!), if you fish higher up in the water column then you don't lose rigs off the bottom and more chance of staying away from rockies.. or unweighted as Starlo mentions if there's no wind or tide taking the bait the wrong way, unweighted is perfect on a quiet day.
wrong location, keep moving about, you'll find them. :)
Love it 🤙
Thanks Jeffrey
What town are you guys fishing in?
Ulladulla
Just found your channel recently and love it. Hi from Sussex 🏴
Thanks so much for your video, can’t wait to the rock, the problem is my bait is always taken by the small fish, tried a lot of different spots but still keep happening, can I know your suggestion?
Good video always
Missed you last week, glad to see you are all good.👍
Thanks 👍
Where did you buy them slip over rock spikes cleats
Everything does like bread, it’s why I have a few casts before I burly.
Best time is winter?
Yes absolutely 👍

Dick was a brand of knife sharpening steel used by butchers, hence the term butcher's Dick.
This led to all kinds of innuendos but it may be the long slender shape of that wrasse that gave it the name.
Yes you are right. I used to be a butcher

Hi Roger, last week my son signed me up for the September weekend, but he entered my contact details incorrectly. I tried to make contact with you through your website, but haven't heard back yet.
The PDF downlaod is the Beach fishing to rocks structures one again? I just entered my email and the download was that one and not the drummer one :(
Thanks for letting me know
what brand rod are you using bro?
We're both on Shimano rods. Mine's a 10 foot Dialuna Spin. I'm not sure exactly what model Roger's is. I've done a review of that rod I'm using on my channel, if you want to check it out. I love it! 👍
@@StarloGetsReel
thank you, bro,
So what was the winner? LJ or D?
Drummer for me... but there's not a heck of a lot in it. Both are great fish to eat! But black drummer (rock blackfish) is in a league of its own, I reckon. 👍
@@StarloGetsReel you guys got me thinkin, i may give give Ds a go, know a couple of spots here at Durras.
Hi Roger, I'm new to the channel. Great stuff. What I don't like is the videos that have guests such as this episode. It rather spoils the content in my mind. You and the bearded wonder spend a lot of time with all the back slapping, kissy kissy stuff. OMG. He has his own channel, and I notice you don't get as many views when you have guests. Sorry for maybe being too forthright.
All good Billy, I appreciate your comment. Most of my videos are just me but it is good to mix it up and collaborate with like-minded fishermen.
Can you tell the male from the female for the drummer blackfish? I hear the females are larger and better to eat. Or is this another example of fishermen BS?
I don't think it's possible to tell externally, and I've never noticed any difference in the flavour.
I'm surprised the woke haven't complained you don't call them "rock fish of colour"....
two guys stressing the importance of rock fishing safety standing there with there back turned on the ocean????
ROCK FISHING RULE NUMBER ONE NEVER TURN YOUR BACK TO THE OCEAN ...
Thanks for your feedback, but where we were standing for that segment was perfectly safe, and we needed to face that way for the camera. (Also, we had ocean on three sides, so we WERE actually facing the sea!) Furthermore, I'd argue that the old "never turn your back on the ocean" gem is not only NOT the number one rule of rock fishing safety, but also totally impractical and un-workable advice - unless you're particularly adept at walking backwards (which I wouldn't recommend on the rocks). FAR more important rules are those about observing your chosen spot from a safe vantage point for at least 15 minutes before fishing; having an emergency game plan; wearing the right clothing and footwear (including a lifejacket where applicable); being able to swim; and understanding the prevailing conditions (especially regarding the state of the tide and swell patterns). Plenty of people have been washed in while facing the sea... far fewer have who've correctly applied the more important safety rules I've just outlined. Tight Lines, Starlo.
@@StarloGetsReel complacency is also dangerous on the rocks to say you are "perfectly safe" is not a good way to look at it . Your never perfectly safe .Get the cameraperson to stand on the other side then you face the ocean and you can keep an eye on the ocean and let the cameraperson know if there is an issue as they would not possably be able to notice danger while recording while facing the ocean
i grew up there and have surfed and fished that spot for many years and have seen all types of conditions there to say you had the ocean on three sides and were facing the ocean is just taking the piss . the swell dosent approch the rock from all three directions as much as it wraps around it just doesnt work like that and surley you known that. Ive seen people washed over across and in there .ive warned multiple people not to stand where they were and have shown them a better place to stand
Ok so perhaps the old saying we are refering to may not be toatally practical but the message within is one that lots of youtubers never seem to stress
perhaps NEVER STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO THE OCEAN is a more practical way of looking at it .once you have checked it for fifteen minutes doent mean that its going to just stay that way
also as for mocking Rodgers selection of footwear isnt a good idea to put on public display as it may deter someone from getting the correct equipment nesassary to be safe, would have been better to say "Wow what are great idea "
anyway hopefully someone reads these comments and gets an understanding that rock fishing saftey is not a game
Bent hooks Mick
Personally myself and many of my mates go by never turn your back on the ocean. As stated I’ve seen many people washed over and off that fishing spot even tho they assessed the conditions prior to going there 👍
God i still cant stand Steve Starling 🙄
I've caught 3 seagulls!! What's your number??
I caught a pelican once. Wasn’t my best day.
I’ve caught a few, can’t remember, shags as well 😊
my son hooked a ganett
That's Grouse
