He (IBB) spoke with so much intelligence, and being able to stay updated on events happening around the globe makes him more relevant than the present leader (Germany vs Western Germany 😉)
I was impressed. There is a lot of mediocrity in African politicians, that did not come through in this interview. He may have been a bad man, but a smart bad man.
IBB does has good working brain. He know how to articulate his point of view. Unfortunately, he kaput the chance that was given to him. June 12 spoiled everything he did. The annulment of the best election in Nigeria was a terrible mistake. Sad!
The truth is that there would have been a bloody coup d'etat by the bad boys in the military over Abiola's government if he hadn't annuled that election and obviously, all the structures that IBB put in place for Nigeria to be among the democratic nations would have been erased. Am glad he made the right decision at the time so to stop what was planned and deliver a lasting and enduring "democratic" government which we av today. It was better that one man to suffer the pain than having a nation of blood streets.
Am really proud of this guys articulating level in comparison to his age and mates. I wish buhari has a thinking capacity of at least 5% of Ibb's. Things would hold and not deteriorate till next suitable president takes over!!!
He is a deep thinker... despite his many failings. I have been critical of him for a long time. Yet, I must admit that he is one of a small number of men that have the ability to use force but elects to be diplomatic. On the other hand, looking through the history of this country, its hard not blame him for being too lenient on public sector corruption. With an estimated wealth of $10 billion, we all he he dipped both hands in the common wealth of Nigerians. But he could easily have prevented others from doing the same. Perhaps haven amassed for himself, he could not throw stones in his glass house. However, we have seen many a corrupt leader able to prevent lower cadres from amassing too much. When he eventually stepped aside in 1992, his Chief of Defence, one Gen Sani Abacha was himself a dollar denominated billionaire. Abacha would eventually seize power after 3 years as Minister and Chief of Defence. it is very obvious that while he amassed billions for himself, he kept a strong check on his cabinet and even his close family. Of course they all shaved a little off the top, but never too much as to be noticed by him or by the majority of the poor masses. In five years as Babangida's Defence Chief (later Minister of Defence) he stashed over $2 billion in his Swiss accounts. When eventually became Head of State, its doubt his own defence chief could muster more than a few million U$ Dollars (still a huge amount, but small in comparison) he was still able to payoff over $20 billion of Nigeria's debt in 5 years. Already a billionaire before mounting the Aso Rock, he died with an estimated wealth somewhere between $6 or 10 billion ($2 billion of which was amassed as Defence Chief to IBB.
The two party system would have been the best thing that happened in IBB's government for Nigeria. Unfortunately, he lost the opportunity to that legacy. As brave he was, he succumbed to the pressure from other officers like Abacha. In his solemn moments, he might be regreting it.
Two party system is what we need and uphold Option A4 for a better political landscape in Nigeria than all these unlimited parties we now have. Also, iBB gave us Third Mainland Bridge that we would not have had if he didn't do it when he was in government. I think we should move on and pray for a leader with human heart. Only today, the US Ambassador visited Makoko Community where none of our past or present leaders ever visited and give them hope of a better future. A word is Enough for the wise. God bless Nigeria.
These Military guys never at one time thought of the populace ,all they wanted was to get power and money really , how l wish they concentrated in protecting Nigerian borders and leave power to civilian rule .Today Nigeria would be very far , Nigeria is such a great Nation loved by the rest of Africa and also a role model , l’m from East Africa and we keep wondering , what really went wrong from the beginning , these Military guys are not the best of leaders in the world, they trained to protect but not how to be Presidents,
I liked some of his policies though. He formed the "two party system" were he empowered and encouraged both women and youth to participate in intra-politics within a political party. He built two state secretariat in each state total( 72 ) and also built two standard secretariat in each local government of Nigeria total (1, 548 ). I remember he once said, he wants the youth to be politically independent. Yes he is not perfect. Yes he wanted to rule for a long time. Yes he annulled June 12 these were his sins, he will live with. He also had VERY GOOD SIDE, I WILL SAY THAT AGAIN AND AGAIN. OK TELL ME HOW YOU WILL ELECT A VERY YOUNG MAN AS PRESIDENT, WHEN THESE ELDERLY POLITICIANS ARE USING THE PARTY AS THEIR PERSONAL INVESTMENT. OFF COUSE, i don't blame them to some extent. Because the spend their time and money right from the formation of a political association until it becomes a viable political party structure.I honestly, wished they have mercy for the country and admits their failure to give youths the chance. Having said that, they seniors didn't want the government to control or manage the offices party build, so that they will be incharged. So what was wrong with the two party system?? Even with the multi- party system in Nigeria isn't it more like the two party system?? My question now is Is there provisions for independent candidate?? So that when one couldn't pass thru..the manipulated primaries...there is a second chance for credable candidate to emerge at the general...elections and lastly, IBB also provided that options and I remember we elected our JOS LGC Chairman then as an independent candidate and he won after he was so call defeated at the 'party primaries'
Nigerians must find a way in their hearts to forgive this man.He did some good works. No man is perfect. I pray history will be fair and vindicate him.He is a good listener. Also a fervent intellectual. He may have made mistakes. But he built some structures.I wish him well.

June 12 Annulment: It is an open secret that IBB loved Abacha more than MKO. Both were his friends. Abacha-military, MKO Abiola-civilian. IBB feared for his own security if Abacha did not taste power. Then came military annulment of election under IBB leadership. So Mr. Sonekan, the Interim Head of State held power in trust for a while. Abacha eventually took over. Both Abacha and MKO eventually died within months. An indication of how the country has been governed, past and present, through cronies. Vanity upon vanity all is vanity. But the Nigerian masses continue to suffer. Sad! We are all gonna go one day. What a baseless interview. Leave this old aged thinking illiterate alone. Taking Nigeria 100 steps back is to believe anyone cares what he has to say. The interview was weak from the former dictator & worse still from the interviewer, total waste of time. Let's move on as a nation & cast away corrupt politicians with their aged thinking aside.

Granting IBB Demon interview
Shame.....!
i even prefer IBB to booharia,
MAY GOD ALWAYS BE WITH YOU.
Erasmus Wednesdays but you can never step into his shoes before they bury you ,before him you know nothing n you are nothing

@@billyogah1494 , to most nigerians he was. He literally instituted corruption in nigeria and started the free spiral downfall of nigeria's economy decay as we know it today. Go do some research and get educated.
God punish babangida
I o
Obasanjo doesn’t have anything pls
Two party system is what we need and uphold Option A4 for a better political landscape in Nigeria than all these unlimited parties we now have. Also, iBB gave us Third Mainland Bridge that we would not have had if he didn't do it when he was in government. I think we should move on and pray for a leader with human heart. Only today, the US Ambassador visited Makoko Community where none of our past or present leaders ever visited and give them hope of a better future. A word is Enough for the wise. God bless Nigeria.
Non sense they are spy
there are worst place in United states why didn't he/she visit their own problem? in their country?
