I’ve spent the last 3 months alone in my house(built 1920). I know it’s probably my mind slowly slipping or going mad, but man I have to google “are ghosts real” and convince myself that they aren’t.

Me too. Always read all the books at my library and went to psychic conventions, practiced magic, and watched the stars. The mystery is what draws me in. Not sure if there will ever be a complete answer to any topics regarding the supernatural, paranormal, and miracles.

I do wish people like this got more attention. I personally find it so much cooler to see the rational and logical explanation behind certain myths and folklore, and especially ghost sightings and paranormal encounters. I find it so much more interesting than just "oh well it's the spirit of a dude who died here and he's moving glasses of water and chairs for...fun?"
But alas, people want to believe in the sensational and supernatural, and it's the stuff that supports that belief that is ultimately more popular and entertaining.
"people want to believe" you hit the nail on the head. A believer will believe in the face of all contradicting evidence, they'll double down, then accuse YOU of being close minded. It's a sad irony when the only one with a closed mind is a believer that won't even look at the evidence before dismissing it.

Maybe not! I watch a lot of ghost hunters videos, and that's super entertaining you know! Even though I know half of them are hoax and aother third is just trick of the place, but I wouldn't want everything to be debunked. Or maybe I would when I see comments of people who are 100% into this and tell shit about demons and ghosts theories plus a lot of insane bigotry!

If you don't mind I'd like to throw in my two cents. Like Alex I am not sure either of what that exact one is that he has for his profile pic however there are so many that looks similar to that. Are you certain it's that one you've seen since young? If not then it's totally understandable if you are mistaken it for another. I mean it even resembles the Iron Fist mark a bit. But yeah, to get down to the point. Dragon crests, symbols, emblems....etc are used all around the world in so many forms, for so many reasons, in so many cultures, across so many countries all through history.

I just came from a channel that shows ghost videos. I was amazed by how easily people will think of "ghost" just by a bad photo or video
These shows are an embarrassment. Apparently they garner good ratings. I finally gave up after investigating this stuff for fifty years. There is nothing. NUH-thing.
@@michaelmontgomery5818 Yep. You can see clear videos of people going to some of the most "haunted" places and seeing nothing. Literally have seen people so unscared that they played hide and seek. But there is always an excuse that people have. Such as, oh some people are more susceptible to seeing ghost, yet have zero studies or evidence to back their claims. Or my faborite just use an evp device and you'll see that ghost are real. Yet again, have zero evidence or studies that would say that ghost are made of energy or whatever people say now.

Lots of things cause us to see things that aren't there, not getting enough sleep, insomnia, proscribed medications, alcohol and withdrawal, drug use and withdrawal, to much coffee, certain foods eaten before bedtime, mental stress, extreme work loads, fasting for to long, religion and its silly strict codes, silly belief systems, over studying for exams, peer pressure, the lose if a family member or a beloved pet, a break-up or miscarriages, abuse and being in an abusive relationship. And the number one cause mental illness.

Just use sleep deprivation and you are sure to see ghosts.
He's not alone, all you have to do is watch these paranormal/crytpid investigation shows to see they spend one or two days in a hot spot and come away with claims they 'sensed' something, they've been caught red handed doctoring footage and sounds, often claim their equipment is "too weak" to pick up stuff they allege to capture and too often these shows begin with them capturing nothing and finding rational reasons but then they visit fancy business places and get freebies for lying through their eye teeth.
Not all the investigators are fraudulent. You could be extremely open minded that you believe in the Jolly Green Giant, or you could be far too closed-minded where you dismiss everything as fake because it doesn't conform to the laws of reality! There are many things we don't know and should be treated on a case-by-case basis.
This is one of the things I really want to do: Go into haunted places and prove that ghosts exist, because frankly, I don't and I want to. But seeing is believing, and if a hard skeptic like me can experience a haunting, that would satisfy my curiosity itch.

It's good to be skeptical and all, but when you find evidence that looks and sounds logical, it's also good to keep an open mind and think outside the box.
Most important, be sure your confirmation bias isn't clouding your observations.
Too many people have a binary view point. They think that just because you acknowledge paranormal phenomena that that means you also believe in ghosts when those are two different things.
This is the kind of Paranormal Investigator i want to learn how to be.
I would love for Ghost, Cryptids or Aliens to exist.
The problem is that most of the people who look for those things go out of their way to try to prove things that are obviously fake.
And the rest know their particular field is fake and are doing it as a cash business(Mediums, Tour Guides, Haunted Houses, Ex).
I do believe some mediums are real, I have personal experiences....no lie.

I personally believe that the concept of debunking ghosts or myths and catching people or organisations profiting off this misinformation is far more interesting, for example if a hotel is claiming its the "most haunted" etc yet charges extortionate prices to stay there or host expensive "ghost hunts" and I think catching the people and exposing the liars who are just looking for a profit is more convincing

I have done ghost hunting in the past and it takes a lot for me to believe something... I don't do psychic, sensations, cold air BS. I look for real solid evidence like a ghost standing in front of me or something moving..... Nothing ever happens in my house, rarely does anything move. The only time something has moved is when i'm having a clearout and piles off stuff topple on each other. Well anyway I went on a ghost hunt at Schooner hotel, supposedly the most haunted hotel in the uk, we slept in the "most haunted room". We got lots of EMF reading but when we turnt the light out and went to sleep, my wash bag flew and dropped of the side of the counter that was opposite the room. Could be coincidence IDK?

I like this guy. Hes a skeptic but hes not a smug one. He doesnt dismiss with disdain.
Most paranormal investigators I do not take seriously. But this guy comes across as someone who will treat the cases he researches in the way an actual scientist should. Not wanting to prove it really are ghosts. Neither wants to disprove. He just will research the evidence and draw his conclusions at the end of the investigation.
Maybe he's on some kind of Paradigm Shift where he can never know the truth no matter where he looks!

Two days before my Father died, my sister, Mother and myself were at his bedside when we heard the back door of the house open and shut, footsteps walking through the house to the kitchen and the sound of groceries being laid on the counter and then footsteps walking away.
We were expecting my brother, so we didn't think much of it, but found it strange that he didn't come into the bedroom.
We called his name, as we heard the footsteps, but there was no answer.
I thought he was playing a joke, so I went out to see him, but no one was there.
We all heard the same thing and freaked out a little, then we realized it must have been spirits, trying to get Dad to give up his fight and leave his body.
Another brother was on vacation with his family, so I knew he wouldn't die until they returned.
Dad held on until my brother and his family crossed the state line.

well what I do know is that CZcams heavily favors channels that upload a video every day. You MUST upload a video every day for a certain amount of time in order to get that sweet sweet CZcams money. But why they upload more than one video a day, i have no idea.
