  • This is a good example of what a small farm would use to pick ear corn in the late fifties and early sixties. Combined equipment is all Oliver right down to the wagon hoist! Captured at the Boonville, IN antique farm show October 14, 2023.

When we was kids my dad picked corn with a 88 Oliver and the same picker. He'd let us ride in the wagon.

Sounds like my childhood! What would OSHA say about children riding in a grain wagon! You survived just fine.

I have a video of a 520 pulling a jd picker. You can get your 2 cylinder fix with that one! It’s in my list of videos.

Wonder when the companies figured out to put deck plates above the snap rolls to help with butt shelling and stuff had to be after they started using combines thanks for sharing

I was looking at when the corn head was made for a combine harvester, from what I came up with was 1954. Before this all corn was picked, husked and shelled with different machines. I think that came out after the pickers were on the way out, some of the newer units got the technology though.
