Amazon Wants To Read Your Palms

- Amazon has created a new device called AmazonOne, which allows users to pay using their palm. It’s terrifying, but many people online are eager for this system to be rolled out across stores in the United States.

why not? Corporations already have your DNA. You give it to them freely :) with so called "covid tests" :D
why
Do you really need a reason?
Cuz it sounds sketchy enough to me, even if they were a totally cool company.
Amazon already completely locked some guy out of his smart house because one Amazon driver misunderstood his ring doorbell's auto answer. The driver claimed it said something racist, when it was just something like, "Hello, can I help you?"
This guy set everything in his house to connect to his Alexa account, so he couldn't even turn his lights on. It took a week of appeals to fix the problem.
Now we are supposed to add access to our money..... I don't think so.
I read about that to, it's not far fetched to directly link that to the very obvious push to a cashless society and social credit scores. Don't obey, and your home is shut down along with your bank account. Rather like China 🤔
Why does this remind me of Disneys Smart House 1999 film.
I swear I remember a Scooby Doo episode where the culprit was the AI-controlled house. Oh yes. High Tech House Of Horrors. That was an uncomfortable one to watch as a kid.
What that shows, is that you don't rely on company like Amazon to control your house. Also needing an account with a company to control your house, is just stupid (we've seen how people get cancelled so it would just be a matter of time until you said the wrong thing and can't access your fridge LOL.
Imagine you scar your hand, or worse lose it in accident, then you need to fight (with no money) to get your money. Cold Hard Physical Cash People
Nope. I cannot believe how people are so willing to give up so much privacy.
Alexa, Siri... every term and condition on any/every cellphone... people are that stupid.
Very true. But the real question is does it stop people from stealing, cause if it does , then companies with shrinkage will gain from this. The shrinkage will sure drop At Walmart or any store where people steal from
But for privacy , yeah is a no
Several years ago Walmart got a new machine that required associates to scan their palms in order to get their till for the cash register. There were a group of us that said we wouldn’t do it. Sadly everyone ended up handing themselves over. I was the only one who felt uncomfortable enough about it to actually quit.
I work at a QuikTrip truck stop and all of us employees clock in and out using our thumb print. I found that a little creepy but I gave them my thumb print. It would've been a lot more creepy if they had wanted my whole hand print though.
After you left Walmart and we're hired on for another job elsewhere...., did you give them your social security number?
Do they have a copy of your driver's license?
If someone had mugged you on the way out of Walmart 1 day.... Would you fight for that person's right to not be fingerprinted when they were caught by the police?
After all, you've just told us that identifying a person by their biometrics isn't okay and you'd never agree to it
@@zwijacBeing fingerprinted after entering the criminal justice system, is part of the price you pay for breaking the law. But, you also need to give fingerprints for a background check if you want to work in certain jobs or volunteer positions. I was involved in abortion protesting when I was younger. I was fingerprinted after being sited for blocking a public entrance. I knew this might happen going into the situation, so I made that choice.
Yeah luckily when I worked at Walmart it was optional and only if you were an extremely lazy cashier most of us just used our numbers.
As a tech guy, this has 100% crossed a line.
I'm in college for computer science and this is REALLY bad! I don't like it. I don't like it at all!

Bingo. Manufacture a crisis, then offer the "solution".
It’s messed up, but it’s true
My father literally predicted this would happen years ago and said it was the Mark of the Beast. A lot of crazy sounding things he's said throughout my childhood are starting to seem a whole lot less crazy with how society is falling.
read the last few verses of Revelations in The Bible. or look up “Mark of the beast Bible Verse”. it was prophesied long ago. if somebody tries to make me to do this i’m finding the nearest axe and chopping my hand off. i’m not doing this.
Your father got this idea from some where else. I am 42 and the mark of the beast talk has been around for a LONG TIME. Basically, this is nothing new but it is finally here.
The mark of the beast, also known as the number 666, according to the Bible will be on peoples foreheads or right arms. Notice which arm everyone is using in the videos.
And the mark the beast is VERY scary!! We really are living in the end times and,to be honest,I'm ready to leave earth and go to heaven. It'll be alot better than here that's for sure!!
@chelsealott7708 Your sympathies are in the right place, but the idea that it’s God’s plan for you to “leave here and go to heaven” is a real misunderstanding of what Scripture says. Read 1 Corinthians 15. At the last day God will raise us from the dead and Christ will return to earth to reign - and we shall meet Him in the air to welcome Him like a triumphal parade (this is the 2 Thessalonians verse that was misunderstood by John Nelson Darby about 200 years ago, leading him to invent rapture theology).
Why do I bring all this up here? Because our understanding of God’s plan influences the mission of the Church and our mindset about the world around us. Your comment (like many others; it’s not your fault!) reveals a sort of “I just want to leave” escapism that was never God’s plan for us. Instead He left the Church here to proclaim His coming Kingdom, share how people can join said Kingdom (the Cross), heal the sick, promote justice, and create beauty.
I've worked in factory jobs where you scan a fingerprint to clock in and clock out. The amount of time wasted every day because one in 10 people had some issue with the machine not being able to read their print for one reason or another was ridiculous.
So these may come with issues.
Gee.....ya think. 🤨🙄😑

Could be but there's a few different reasons for the theft I think
Yes. Agreed.
I mean not really. I can go in, steal stuff, and just go out of a fire exit even if they were to try to lock the door if you didn't scan out with biometrics. No way having to scan out to escape through an emergency door will be able to pass fire codes.

With all of the concern for discrimination these days, its quite amusing me how they aren’t concerned about people who don’t have arms. I really hope this doesn’t become a thing, it’s too end of times for me 😬
Interesting and valid point. I've actually known a few people who were born without arms, or had them amputated in an accident or war.
I'd expect more than a few DAV rights groups would be "up-in-arms" (no pun intended) over this.
NO ARMS, YOU STARVE!!!!!!!!!!

@@rationalcynic8416
A chip is more secure then the stripe.
Bret it’s “not weird” it’s evil.
The pushing factor in this isn't going to be convenience, it's going to be safety and security. You can lose your phone or debit card or someone else can steal them. However, you can't lose your hand or have it stolen unless you encounter a really bad person willing to cut it off.
But now just think of the incentive of criminals sticking ppl up you use the palm tech it’s less secure because you can no longer say you don’t have your card/ phone to access, ppl can hold your hand up or worse
This is happening for two reasons: to make you spend more money by making it harder to keep track of what you’re spending specifically in contrast to buying things with cash. The second thing is that they are probably scanning your hand and gaining medical information on you and keeping it in a database and selling it, or using it for some reason maybe against you!
Lol

This reminds me of the research on DNA almost 20 years ago; there was a big fear that after mapping out all of the genes in our genetic code and we could identify any genes that could be problematic (disease, life expectancy, etc) that insurance companies would discriminate and turn down customers based on their genetics.
Had to do a debate about it for uni, we were in the against camp and had a tonne of arguments (we went all out, privacy, insurance, reliability of findings- its assumption based), our opponents had 'its technology, technology good'
The lecturers decided the for won, because they agree with the technology... totally not biased 😂
@@strange-universe no, but that’s mainly because laws were passed after these discoveries became realized; I learned about the human genome project being completed around 2004 (it was completed in 2003), and several laws were put into place to prevent this kind of discrimination: DDA of 2005, I believe the Equality Act of 2010 covers some of it, etc.
@@chrisg8321 yeah, I did too; we had to consider whether or not knowing our life expectancy due to our genes was a good or bad thing, and whether or not we should take the feelings of mortality (that is, if we knew we only had 20 more years to live while we were in our teens, etc) into account.

It's really scary to think how easy offended my generation is and that society is teaching us to just fit the standard and not have a mind of or own. So thank you!!!
Same here!
"your palm is unique, and can't be lost or misplaced"... this line alone tells me exactly who their primary target for "convenience" is and who will be exploited - if you're in a wealthy secure and high class area, it's a benefit; if you're in a poor, dangerous or low class area, which are most areas, you palms can be very well misplaced and lost, and once you lose both and there is no alternative transaction anymore - you're basically destitute and penniless even if your bank account has 10 digits... Maybe year one or year ten won't be as bad, but for the people who only ever lived in that system, those who wish to abuse it will find ways to do so anyway... You could write an entire series of books with the implications of this being a thing and going sideways eventually. In fact, I'm pretty sure some variation of that has already been novelized...

In regards to the shopping cart thing I read in my computer science textbook in 2008 that this tech was coming out, the store knows what you put in your cart because the cart has an rfid scanner and ever single thing in the store has an rfid tag. The text stated that the dangers of this tech is that if you go home and don’t throw away the tags anybody driving by with a scanner can see what you have in your home and thieves can use this info to their advantage.

Brett, they use RFID tags, similar to what's in a contact less I.D. card to keep track of what's in a grocery cart. You pass through the reader and it's all added up. They're very small, probably embedded in the bar code of the product. I'm all for that. Would definitely save a lot of time. I can clear up how that Whole Foods store knows exactly what is in the cart. Every single shelf in that store has invisible barrier scanners. If you reach inside that barrier, you break that plain and it knows (scans?) that you reached in there, it also knows if you took an item off the shelf or not, and if so, which specific item. You don't see it or hear it, but it essentially scans the item as it passes through that barrier. If you put it in your kart and walk around a bit and then decide against buying it, you put it back, it knows that too, cause it scans it again and is smart enough to know an item has been put back and your bill drops by however much that item would have cost. I don't know this for sure, but I imagine each and every shelf also has scales to help accurately determine which items are removed or replaced. It's all very weird and very creepy for sure, and technologically, it's fascinating, but it's still terrifying.
The main take away everyone should get from this is, the book of Revelation. If you have not read it yet, GO read it right now, and if you don't understand it or have questions, seek out someone who can help, may it be in person or online. All of this was foretold about 2 thousand years ago in the book of Revelation. "In the last days, the Beast will be worshipped as the Christ, and only those who have the Mark of the Beast will be able to buy or sell." (I'm sort of paraphrasing there, I don't have it completely memorized but that is the truth of it.) The technology is here, the rest of it won't be far behind.
This reminds me of the skit with Elon and the new Tesla scanning your nuts to unlock the car

Yeah but it's really not
I live in Holland and this interviewer was going around asking people what they think about a mobile phone, one woman said: why do you want a mobile phone in your pocket, it’s to big, I don’t need it. Then years later when we all had a iPhone or android phone the same woman was asked the same question and guess what her answer was, she can’t live with out it, like almost everyone. So maybe this is the same thing. I agree it’s a bit scary but maybe we all doing this in 2035 and be like, what’s a creditcard?
If your payment card gets stolen or copied, you can block it and get a new card. With your palm, it'll be compromised forever.
It’s the mark of the beast..
How bro 💀
Bruh no it's not
Duh
This is terrifying I'm never giving some big tech company biometric data cor something like this. Never.
RFID microchips are in labels and tags. My husband and I met a German in California who was working on this technology over 20 yrs ago. Guess they perfect it.
The injection of Luke having his hand sabered off had me laughing out loud 🤣
So, you break your hand, you're in a cast, now you're SCREWED. 😂😂
This reminds me of those people that get chips in there arms to use their smart homes and stuff.😢
I commented this before I saw the other part of the vid 😂
I’m scared of this. This sounds like we’re entering the end times.
I'm sorry to break it to you, but we are already in the end times. The signs are everywhere.
@@enchantedadventuresthrough3065fr😂
@@enchantedadventuresthrough3065 that’s more than a fair assessment.
You don't need to be afraid, don't forget God sealed His people as well.
"Revelation 7:2-3 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."
And once you are His nothing can take you away from Him, God is with you every step of the way "Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
Brett you are a breath of fresh air. I absolutely love your channel, and always LOVE hearing what you have to say. Thank you :)
Holy shit, already 3.44million subscribers- been here since the beginning and that growth is absolutely wild
Congratulations! Love to see it, well deserved
That meme inserted in the palm ad, was precious 😂
It's so nice for Chip Girl to give any potential burglars the location of the key to everything she owns.
They will only need a quick stop at the knife block in her kitchen...
This cart thing at Whole Foods was something GE was working on decades ago. I remember the commercial where they were working on a scan that goes off the RFIDs associated with the boxes. I thought it was never going to happen, kinda cool to see actually. The palm thing is a never gonna happen thing for me, but the cart is actually a logical next step for RFID usage.
I had that kinda cart system as a University project a few years ago before it was starting to be implemented. It seemed completely pointless then and still does now.
this comment makes way too much sense for this comment section. Brett will rave about convenience w express VPN and then is terrified of convenience at the palm reader. She seems more and more pointless each video.
@@LordofChaos42 Not even close to the same thing
@@syko2695 exactly, brett doesnt understand the basic idea of this but looooove how easy VPN is to set up.
she thinks it will save milliseconds. w comments like this from brett, you can really tell that she was homeschooled and wanting to latch on to every grifter she can
@@LordofChaos42one is mining personally identifiable and possibly hippa data that can be sold, vs a VPN that that mines little if anything....
Medical facilities have used palm scanning for at least 5 years for me.

There’s pretty obviously a Fitbit or Apple Watch under her sleeve…
I use my Fitbit like that. She’s not using her palm. It just has your apple wallet enabled..
@kellybraun5013 the rfid chip implants was a thing for a while in i believe Sweden or something like that, turned out to be really bad and they got rid of it almost immediately. We didnt even have them in our cards here in America yet at the time
Are you married or do you have a boyfriend?
No thank you
They have thumbprint pay for years now.
This makes me think of Minority report with the eye scan.
