  • Today we have an 04 spec v. Its got the 2.5l 4-cylinder engine along with the manual 6-speed transmission. We are following along in changing the crankshaft sensor. It is placed behind the engine near the bell housing. We go under the oil pan and follow along the passenger axle to see the sensor. Thank you for watching! Like and subscribe for more content! I was able to go in on my 2006 from the top. The 10mm bolt is just inside the rear of the block above the rear motor mount. A few moments of digging with your index finger while holding a medium extension and socket to get it on the head, rest it on the motor mount and bring in the wrench. You should be able to losen it. Pull the extension and wrench out, and take the bolt out by hand, and pull very lightly on the connector/wire. Should come out after a few gentle tugs (pause) 😂 disconnect your plug once you can hold the sensor in your hand, and in view. Repeat the process exactly in reverse. Starting with reconnecting your connection to the new sensor and gently putting back in place. You can rotate the edge of the sensor housing until it rests in line with casing rounded out edge. Slide the bolt back in by hand and hand tighten until you feel it snug. Press the center of the sensor into the casing to ensure a nice seal, and use the extension to tighten further, rest on the motor mount and tighten to a snug fit. Reconnect your battery and give her a start!
