  • After many questions on an instagram, I have finally decided to do a performance review of the Kitplanes for Africa Safari MkIII Taildragger with a Rotax 915is 141hp turbocharged engine.
    We dive into the take off performance, cruise speeds, stall speeds and also landing distance of this South African designed Bush Plane.
    I think I have made the perfect choice of light aircraft because I am able to travel long distances to short backcountry bush strips without the need to stop for fuel every couple of hours.

    This was one of the best general flight videos I’ve see for giving the flavor of a typical flight in a small aircraft. Well done.

    The Safari looks to be a great plane! Hopefully see one up close here in the US. Enjoyed it. Also love the bricks if front of hangars!

    How much does it weigh when recording this video, my friend

      Empty weight 434kg. I would say that the total weight during this video was approximately 600kg

    How are you finding the 915 as the Turbo has oil supply issue and now recalling the fuel pumps how can ROTAX make these mistakes ? I don’t understand how.

    Just wondering was this video made before the lockdown or during, because I'm soo jealous right now because I'm not allowed to go flying due to the lockdown :( Lucky You!!

      @ThomasMarrow  Před 4 lety +1

      Jason Aviation was made about 3 weeks before lockdown! I’m also stuck at home wishing I could fly 🤦🏻‍♂️

    What climb rate do you estimate you could get at sea level?

      Josh Cawcutt I like to test it for sure without making any assumptions. There will definitely be a video though
