- Lincoln has succeeded in building a sweet spot in their lineup with the 2020 Aviator Black Label. Under the hood is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 producing 400 HP, and mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It's exterior features such wonderful touches, and the wheel and tire combo sets it apart. On the inside you will find the highest level of materials and room inside for a mid-size SUV. Is the 2020 Lincoln Aviator the best luxury midsize SUV?

I love this car. I purchased one a few weeks ago , and it is the best driving experience I’ve ever had. It’s such a smooth ride , and the leather in the Black Label is sumptuous and comfortable. We took a 5hr road trip that felt like 90 mins.

I have a Black Label/Grand Touring, flight theme, luggage tan interior, pristine white. 2000 miles, AWESOME vehicle . Can’t go anywhere without compliments. Lincoln hit this one out of the park.

I was seriously considering a lexus 450 and lexus lx570 for me and my mom. The 570 has a cool box. I thought that was very useful. I love that panoramic sunroof. I love those new Lincoln's. On the navigator it comes in 3 different packages in black label edition

If Ford can improve the tech to the level of the German offerings, this Lincoln Aviator can really give them a run for their money. Keep it going Ford! You've definitely put Lincoln back on the map for luxury vehicles.

Looks like a really great vehicle.../.it would have been nice if you actually had a light on your camera so we could have seen the inside. The whole video was dark/...btu.. you,never mentioned pricepoint for any of the trim levels....

What's up joe just wanted your opinion on this. If you could buy a brand new gt350r the 2020 version or a brand new ford raptor which one would you buy honestly. I just had my first kid and a truck would really be useful but at the same time when my boi grows up I would give him my brand new gt350r beacuse I'm planning on keeping low miles on it.
I would go with the Raptor in your situation.

Raiti's Rides I saw one would like the two-tone interior is beautiful and I have something like 32 different movable seat functions and I love the way the hamstring extensions are separate and they could move individual for each hamstring that’s really nice

Yes there have been some major issues. Leaks, cpu malfunctions and problems with the brakes. I hope Lincoln /Ford can remedy these problems asap.
By far the most appealing luxury SUV to come from an American brand!! The excellent interior design and quality, the standard 400hp/400lb ft of torque; this is how you gotta compete if you want respect! I just hope Ford/Lincoln can manage the few quality issues that have been reported, but I'm confident they will!

The 2020 aviator is absolute junk. It’s a great looking car inside and out and it drives well, but the quality is absolutely horrible. My lift gate just became inoperable for the 3rd time in 9 months. I also had to get the drive shaft replaced at 20k miles due to what felt like a jerking while accelerating/breaking. But it took Lincoln 3 repair attempts to get to that decision. And if you’re expecting Lincoln corporate to back their product, don’t waste your breathe. The only thing they offered was a free extended warranty. It’s not worth the hassle and will be trading it for an Acura MDX in January.
I got to sit in one at the 2019 San Francisco auto I was in love 😍 I love they have real exhausts

The Aviator is an elegant vehicle, the only thing I hate is the exhaust pipes with the holes on the bottom so when you follow it on a cold day the smoke isn’t coming out of the tips but from the bottom.

Only problems I see are the amount of times this has been recalled ever since the first few were sold.
And the first few were even bought back from Lincoln a few weeks later.

I'll be cross shopping this with 201A and luxury package with the Explorer ST at some point next year. I like the looks of the Aviator a little better, but it will come down to what kind deal Lincoln will have.
I personally would go with the Explorer ST! I am very curious what kind of deal you would get at a Lincoln dealership.
I don't know about anyone else but I couldn't see ish on the inside. Turn on your camera lights or use a flashlight. Nice video, nice vehicle though....

I'm in love with the Aviatior. BTW you didn't mention that the pilot and co pilot seats have a massager built in them. Other than that, great video. I love the chocolate interior too.

What in your opinion is the closest thing to my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder that I will eventually replace? Nissan greatly disappointed me when they turned it into a crossover in 2013.
This Lincoln is beautiful but too expensive for me. The Nissan I have was top of the line without being super pricey and has been pretty reliable for the most part. I also like the body on frame style.

I think it's so rude when people at the car show clearly see a car reviewer making a quick video on the car and decide they have no respect and just hop in the car to start viewing it! They need to learn to have respect to wait until someone is done looking. I've seen this multiple times at car shows and I'm tellin you it irks me so bad! It's just so disrespectful and common courtesy tells you to wait until they are done! 😒

First time I saw this car in person it looks like it’s been painted inside a barn. The paint is riddled with imperfections like dust particles and small pieces of hair caught in the paint. This will significantly lessen the durability of the paint as hose imperfections will peel off and will cause corrosion.

I like it much better than it's paternal twin, the Ford Explorer with the possible exception of the ST. Wish they had a sport tuned Aviator model also though. I like the Corsair better than the Escape as well. Now call it a day, and go eat some Thanksgiving 🦃 and save some room for all the twinkies for desert.

As much as I love the all new Ford Explorer, I desire the Lincoln Aviator even more. They did a great job differentiating these two vehicles, unlike what Ford did in the early 2000's.
You know what I'd really like to see Lincoln come up with next? A "gentleman's coupe", if you will, based on the current Ford Mustang platform to compete with the likes of the Infiniti Q60.

You know what the problem is joe everything has become so expensive!!! Even at 30k ur not getting much anymore unless u buy used certified.. and just think when all these high tech cars go out of warranty who can afford to repair them its gonna be insane in 5 years to maintain these vehicles..thats why i think kia and hyundai are going to flourish really well in next few years...

Lincoln priced the Aviator way too high, in the same category as MB GLS and BMW X7. At that point people might as well just get the GLS instead. They should’ve priced the Aviator in line with the MB GLE or BMW X5 instead. This is a dressed up Ford Explorer after all regardless of how nice it is. It is quite a bit smaller than the GLS (which competes with the Navigator). Size wise the closest thing to the Aviator is the Infiniti QX60, but the Aviator is priced at about twice as much as the QX60.

They may call the Aviator a full size, but if you put a tape measure to it, its only a few inches shorter than the GLS or X7. With the Aviator black label (non hybrid) out just a hair above the starting price of the GLS and the X7, it just goes to show just how overpriced they really are. You could load up a GLS or X7 and hit well into the 6 figure range, only to get about 5% more luxury. Honestly I think the Aviator is too good, it downright cannibalizes the Navigator as most in the market are good with what the Aviator has to offer. I'd be willing to bet Mercedes and BMW quality skyrockets over the next few years with no real price increase. Okay so say you want to include the "brand prestige" in the cost like a braindead ape, then sure the price of the German or even British options are justifiable, So lets look at brands without the "prestige" tax, you have Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, Audi and Volvo.
Lexus is just outdated across the board, their vehicles are stuck in 2012 which was honestly the worst era of vehicles ever. (except for the LFA) Both of their 3 row SUV's are on very old and inefficient platforms, with one being a slightly stretched 4runner and the other being an 11 year old landcrusier with a facelift and Lexus grille.
Infiniti is in a similar boat as Lexus, but has the soul advantage of their infotainment being functional, even though its just as dated. At least the QX60 is a unibody and not a BOF like Lexus
Cadillac is using a crossover minivan to compete with this (the XT6 is on the Traverse platform, which is a minivan turned into a crossover) If GM cut their losses and picked up a real architecture for their 3 row crossovers, they would stand a chance (irrelevant to this video, but would also help the Acadia out A LOT in the AT4 mission since that's also on this minivan platform)
Audi is a very very sport-centric brand, and has a much more sport oriented lineup. While the Q7 is a decent luxury 3 row, the Q8, which is a fastback Q7 with a third row delete, is actually their flagship crossover, since they are after all a sports focused brand.
Volvo is the only true competition this thing has. The XC90 even comes in a more powerful PHEV version just like this. Only real difference architecturally is one is FWD based and one is RWD based, But them both being AWD negates most the difference. Really at that point it boils down to which layout you like better, and sadly Volvo is extremely underrated and just doesn't sell well in NA for whatever reason, so by default Lincoln wins here even though the competition should be much more tight.
I didn't include Acura on this list, because I would consider them a "premium" brand, which sits inbetween mainstream and luxury. Other examples of that would be buick, gmc, chrysler, alfa, and jeep (although this will change in 2021, they will make a push toward luxury sooner than later, taking on land rover for the luxury offroader spot)

People still buy the Lexus just because it's bulletproof reliable. Aviators having a ton of issues and the quality control is horrible with many buyers regretting their purchase that s*** just doesn't happen with Toyota.
