Shocked by Traditional Korean Street food!?!

- Hello!! This week I took Ollie to Namdaemun Market in Seoul for the first time! We got to try loads of traditional street food that Ollie had never had before, including probably the best Hoddeok that I've ever had and dumplings from a place that sells more dumplings than I new was physically possible!! Enjoy!!
안녕하세요!! 이번 주엔 처음으로 올리 데리고 남대문시장에 갔어요! 올리가 처음 먹어보는 한국 길거리음식들을 같이 먹으러 돌아다녔는데, 지금까지 먹어본 호떡 중에 제일 맛있는 인생호떡도 발견했어요! 그리고 저희가 가본 만두집에서는 세상에, 그렇게나 많은 만두를 팔 수 있는지도 처음 알게 되었답니다!!! 이번 편도 즐겁게 봐주셨음 좋겠어요!!

그게아니라 뜻은모르고 들리는 단어가 많아서 그래요 편집하면서 듣는 한국어는 많은데 올리는 뜻을 몰라서 단어가 헷갈린데요 아는것도 비슷하게 듣던 단어랑 혼란이온다고....편집할때 몇번씩들으니까 뇌에 그냥 자동으로 소리만 입력되어있던 단어들이요..ㅎㅎ
그리고 혹시 자기가 아는 단어랑 혼동해서 잘못 말했다간 타격이 어마어마하니 그런듯 그래도 그럴것이지 저땐 100만도 안했을꺼고 지금은 400만이나 되는 초대형 유튜버니

I feel like Ollie understands *so* much Korean. Like, I'm sure he's fluent by now. (I bet he lowkey is and just acts like he isn't 😂)
What gets me is that this video is from 3 years ago and he already understands so much
I kinda can imagine how he feels about using korean since after being into kpop/kdrama stuff for 4years already I can understand a lot of stuff but I'm totally unable of making even a small talk just by myself 🤡 and it's not like I've been learning the language it's just that some words and sentences are so common that you start to remember them without even trying, in addition ollie had been to korea a lot of times so he just naturally learned some stuff it's just that he can't express himself well (I think korean might be harder for him to learn since he already knows something and isn't starting from the bottom)
There's a language acquisition that is more on understanding than speaking. So, like me, i understand three languages in my country but I find it difficult to retrieve the words at will in order to speak it 😅
may flower ollie is pretty much constantly around korean whether he wants to learn it or not. if you spend your time hearing it then overtime you’re gonna pick phrases or words up. so i’m guessing ollie’s understanding is waaaay better than how he comes off. personally i think trying to piece together sentences in a different language can be hard especially with grammar structure and all that.
Now he can understand Korean but can't converse back in Korean. He responds in English. This was Armand's observation when the highschool boys are in Korea. He's amazed that Ollie can understand the team

와아.. 어묵이라 할때 소름이.. 한국사람도 오뎅이라고 하는사람들 많은데.. 진짜 잘하시네요.. 굿굿!
현재 연재하는 식객2에서 봤는데 어묵과 오뎅은 다르다더군요. 현재 저희가 어묵이라며 먹고 있는 것들은 다 오뎅이래요. 진짜 어묵은 생선살과 전분을 이용해 굳혀먹는것이고 오뎅은 튀기거나 찌거나 구워먹는 것이라는데 인터넷에서도 다 오뎅과 어묵이 같다고 하니 어떤게 맞는지 저도 잘 모르겠네요.
