What is DampRid®?
Think of DampRid® as a dehumidifier that doesn’t need electricity. It’s the convenient, all-natural way to absorb excess moisture in the air that can cause stale, musty odors, while preventing damage to your valuable possessions. DampRid®’s calcium chloride crystals absorb unhealthy moisture in the air to create and maintain the optimal humidity level in your home, storage areas, cabin, boat, car, RV or wherever moisture is a problem.
Indoor air that’s as fresh as the outdoors.
DampRid products have been providing effective moisture and odor control to homeowners throughout the country for more than 70 years. It’s cost-effective, nontoxic, all-natural and simple to use. And unlike sprays and candles, DampRid attracts and traps excess moisture to eliminate musty odors. - Jak na to + styl
"All natural crystal" = Calcium chloride, just get calcium chloride to refill it, skip the middle men. Also yes, you can regenerate it by heating the "water" aka calcium chloride solution by heating it at at least 100 degree celcius.
I'm not sure, but 100 not enough to separate water from salt back verse, it needed 250 degrees Celsius.
@@bulatdavlet5141 it is, on Wikipedia. CaCl2 has multiple hydration state. Heating it to 250 is bad idea.

Don't trove away the dissolved crystals liquid! You can reuse it by drying it under the Sun.
You guys are awesome. I absolutely love this stuff.
May God bless you all
Drive that boat!
I have to order this
Why were the Mega refillable containers discontinued? I would need 8 of the 10.5 refillable containers to replace one Mega 5lb container.
Don't worry, Camco makes a similar 5 lb desiccant container that you can fill will the same calcium chloride granules. I asked the same question of DampRid, but got nowhere. At least there's a decent alternative now.
@@MikeTrieu Thanks! I found it on Camco site.
Can this be reused if placed in the sun to evaporate the water?
It's calcium chloride, you need at least 250 degree celcius to dry it
I sweat a lot. Could I use these crystals to coat my body before I got out on dates with the ladies to keep me fresh and dry? Do they have a nice smell to them? If they do, bonus.
no, you cannot. this stuff iritate your skin, and there's a heat while it is absorbing moisture.
Your skin will be as dry as the sahara desert. Dont.
Please don't you'll get dry rashes all over and your date will not go so well lol.
only if you use a stapler to hold it on with
Really.😊
Thanks so much😀😀
So in a garage would i take the paper off here is SC .
good for bedroom?
Do you gotta put both bags ?
You dont have to, but it just makes less work if you use both.
Is it ok if I dump the water after 3 months and continue using it? I don't like the idea of having the much water in my room
If you don't mind rebuying calcium/sea salt every time, sure throw it out. Or you can save money by regenerating the calcium/sea salt ,by heating "the water=sea salt water" in the oven for 3 hrs on 250 F'. It'll turn solid again for reuse.
do you own math on whether running your oven to evaporate the water is worth it. I just dump it. a refill is only a few bucks
hmm, with mine the crystals hardened but there's no water. Does that mean there's no moisture in that area?
it may take a minute
Got water?
I've had that happen, but I have yet to find a solution.

Oh I get it, an the ingredients that are used.......hmmm
Do dehumifers and damp traps kill mold already in a bedroom or do they just stop new mold appearing I have mold in my bedroom also is salt effective and ok to use in dehumifers or damp trap when Crystal's have run out I wanna save money and not have to keep buying more dehumifers and damp traps
It's a prevention thing. Once you have it it's too late to my understanding
@@fidgitsfixo.o3476 will opening windows and opening bedroom door stop mold and air out room
You need to run air purifier, clean the mold issue according to what it's attached to. If you clean up mold without purifier running mold spores can travel and attach and start in new area. Then continue running the air purifier and a dehumidifier device or calcium chloride so the issue doesn't return.
I would do a cleaning with drugstore hydrogen peroxide and let it dry. It should kill most of it. Then you can inhibit mold growth with vinegar weekly ( i spray my bathroom shower with vinegar right after I’m done showering to prevent mold growth). Do you know what the source might be?
@@stardroplet9499 I'm a hoarder and I have lots of items my dad said probably not getting enough air in room
Its so difficult to find the container. Can't even buy from your website. Where can i find the container?
Any luck finding one? I’m having the same issue
Just get the Camco one. You can even refill it with DamRid's calcium chloride once you've used up the initial medium.

Can anyone help me to get in touch with the US distributor of Damprid?
RL, There are worse products than that in our world's water supplies. :)
And attitudes like yours are why we now live in such a toxic world.

Just use salt in an foil container no need for exspencive traps
What kind of salt?
@@durece100 just cheap table salt 🧂
@@mags127 No. That won't work.
Sodium chloride is not very hygroscopic. Calcium and magnesium chlorides work well, though, the former of which is DampRid.
its just calcium chloride nothing else... dont waste your hard earned money for brand name..
Wtf just get a reusable one I feel having to buy refill is just expensive. Get gels that reusable and just put in Microwave to reuse it again
Microwave? That doesn't sound right. Unless you have a way to vent the water vapor, it's just gonna reabsorb into the silica gel. Toaster oven is a much better way of desiccating, especially if it has a convection mode to constantly move air around.
WTH.... dumping brine into the toilet!!! Where do you think this brine water ends up? In our lakes, rivers etc. No wonder our planet is in trouble.
It actually goes to the wastewater treatment facilities just like the rest of the shit
Educationjack Yeah, sure it does
www.americanrivers.org/threats-solutions/clean-water/sewage-pollution/
It's just calcium chloride which is one of many naturally occuring salts in rivers and seawaters. It's not harmful for the environment. Calcium is important for marine animals to synthesise shell (calcium carbonate).
