    I am a Patreon member and I think this is one of my favorite watercolor instruction videos that you have made! You did such an excellent job of explaining how to manage colors. I think something I would appreciate in one of your upcoming videos would be how to control your water. How important is it to keep my water clean? How often to dip in the water? Basically, how to manage the water. Because your water bucket is off screen, It’s hard to know exactly what you’re doing so maybe just explain that part a little more while filming the video. Thanks so much for your videos. I love them!

    Very practical lesson. I like the suggestion of having this very simple basic palet of those three primary collrs plus the "special case purple" blue.
    I have been concentrating on value, not color, so have been using mediums like charcoal and graphit mostly. But I am starting to long for more color in my work....

    This is just what I've been looking for because I've always been frightened of watercolor. I draw portraits in graphite which are enjoyed by my friends and family and have been frequently asked if I can do colour ones. This will certainly help me. I wi become a patreon member as soon as my finances get better(I'm only on sick pay at the moment due to a spinal injury). Anyway you are awesome and I look forward to the challenge. Can I just add that your voice over is so calming and relaxing which helps tremendously. Keep up the fantastic work my friend

    When I use prussian blue , for shadow on face, the face becomes greenish. It looks very odd. How to show shadow ?

    • @laurishaw7788
      @laurishaw7788 Před 4 lety +3

      Hi. I'm a student of Yong's. Hopefully this video answered that question, but if shadows are looking green, you need more red in your mix. Don't forget that Prussian blue already has yellow in it, so adding more yellow just gets you green.

    But the real primary colors are Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow not Red, Yellow and Blue :/

    • @laurishaw7788
      @laurishaw7788 Před 4 lety +5

      Subtractive primary colors used in printing are cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Other sets of primaries used by artists are the RYB system of red, yellow, blue. There are also additive primaries created by light, and they are red, green and blue.
