The hype train of rising bantamweight "Sugar" Sean O'Malley took a detour on its trip toward crossover stardom after an apparent leg injury led to an opportunistic finish from Marlon "Chito" Vera on Saturday.
The co-main event of UFC 252 at the Apex in Las Vegas came to a close just as things appeared to be heating up as Vera (16-6-1) took advantage of a compromised O'Malley (12-1) to record a stoppage at 4:40 of Round 1.
