I had the distinct honor of writing the lyrics for this song. I remember I was so broke at the time I couldn't afford the taxi fare from the studio some late nights so I did the hour and a half walk home crossing the bridge from Gangnam to Itaewon (this was in Seoul). Grateful for the exercise though. Andrea Bocelli said in an interview "This song's beautiful lyrics and melody moved my heart." Made it all worth it. What an honor.

This is not a David Foster song. It was composed by Donjune Lee. The lyrics were written by Robert Choy. I believe Choy wrote the lyrics specifically for Andrea.
Personally, considering the nature of the song, I don't think a female voice would be apt. Just my personal opinion.
