Thank you for the video, especially the bit about 4 minutes into the video that showed the switch taken apart and that you fixed it by cleaning. Instead of taking my steering wheel apart, I used a compressed air from a can and aimed it into the switch while alternately pressing on the sides that worked-> this fixed my switch. Thanks again!
You are most welcome, and thanks for positive feedback, your idea is good to work smart and blow air while pressing the buttons, then the dirts my move away.
I only have a simple steering wheel with no buttons on my Mk6. Can I install those modules on that or do I need a new steering wheel with buttons on it?
My buttons have started to be a bit problematic. The skip track button still works, but it doesn't have that "click" feel when I press it. Could it be just a bit of dirt stuck behind it?
I have a 2012 vw Passat my alternator died then I got it replaced after it was replaced my steering wheel controls wouldn’t work is there a fuse for that? If so where would it be

@saud... Electronics might be smart.. but it always requires a smarter human Brain to make it works.. you are one of them.. great work saud...
Thanks very much Jervin for your good words, I fully appreciate your positive feedback, this is the best value to share useful technical knowledge.

Great video! What size / shape screwdriver did you use to remove the 4 screws to access the internal pushbutton board? (3:41)

Hi, better to check with car dealer to get proper answar. Thanks
Did you have a error come up when you first turn on the car saying "Button for driver assistance system faulty." Or something similar?
No I don't remember I got any error as such, may be because no actual circuit failure but button not able to move, so system not detecting that .

Yes most probably required some cleaning.
same but i fixed mine, stripped a toothpick in half to make it thin and cleaned out the gunk around the sides. good as new

How do you twist the steering wheel when battery is not connected. Mine just locks up
Did you try having the key inside and turning the key even though the battery is off. That should release the lock.
My passat is wireless and I can't find a key hole. Steering locked. 2016 b8
Could it be a fuse?
sir this is petrol engine am I right and guess how I know that ?? pls answer
Yes you are right.
Volkswagen - das auto: you have to take apart the whole wheel just to change simple buttons. Engineers really screwed this up
Not helpful 👎🏿 Failure to identify the mfg year and specific model no (B5, B6, B7, etc) that you’re working on is negligent.
Hi, thanks for your valid feedback,
I is ok to fail, I learn from failures, I thought the main working concept should be the same regardless model.
It's actually a very helpful videos as most VW cars have similar components
