For me it's a no-brainer because Ever After High is just better at basically EVERY category! Regal Academy's musical style is so sweet and fits the whole fairytale style, and the 2nd season has a much better animation style - but the childish tone is just too off-putting for me, while Ever After High is just THAT show!
Rainbow are only targeting babies nowadays. If you thought Regal Academy was childish, than I REALLY don't recommend you to watch 44 Cats.

I do loved Ever After High Series but I am disappointed that ever after high series was cancelled because there's so much things that need to be resolved before the series will finally end like revealing Cerise Hood's family secret, Who's Apple's destiny Prince, how Darling became the white knight, the Ever After High graduation day and show what they doing in the future now, but unfortunately this is not going to happen so the writers decided to end with the cliff hanger.

They didn’t decide to end on a cliffhanger. They thought there would be more episodes and specials. The web show’s staff was working on new episodes but had to scrap them after they couldn’t get a hold of anyone from Mattel who btw has still never actually right out said that it was cancelled. They just stopped updating everything and have been acting like it never existed.

@@Goleon true, i remember their last EAH specials is the cross-over of Monster high and EAH they show the sketches in a special episode where Claudeen and Draculaura is watching a movie who is supposed to be a special webisode
Regal academy wished it looked half as good as EAH
It had potential but they really flipped with their designs lol
You should compare descendants to ever after high especially since its infamous for causing ever after's cancellation. Some of the designs are also eerily similar like Raven and Mal (even if they don't have the same parents, you can't deny that they look very similar to one another)
I've never seen Descendants but everyone seems to love it, so I just might.

I think they designed Mal to look similar because of how popular Raven was. They knew she was one of the most popular charecter then and probably designed Mal with Raven in mind think Mal would be just as popular

Honestly one of the things I like most about EAH is the clothing designs, they creatively draw on aspects of each character's stories and just look appealing overall
Exactly, even in the background characters you can tell that some characters are from some other famous stories, like caption hook, king midas, aladin, the pea princess. (these are not canon, just theories but its cool on how you can connect some with a story)
I am pretty sure that Ever After High ended the legacy plot because the crossover between it and Monster high was cancelled (because of the reboot) so they were kinda stuck and decided to release way to wonderland
It will be amazing if Nickelodeon monster high series has a crossover with ever after high
Like many people I prefer EAH, but Regal Academy was still cute and very enjoyable! I kind of hope season 3 happens
Mhm, even though I prefer EAH as well, Regal Academy was still pretty good. The concept of grandkids instead of kids was nice. Their uniforms were cool. I can literally still remember younger me fangirling over one scene where Travis or whatever the hell his name was ended up talking to some girl he liked.

for me i like to think that the ever after high characters take on their fairytale name when they take on the role
I had trouble watching through Regal Academy just because of how annoying some of the characters were. Rose's default setting was always "wow, so cool!" And Vicky didn't really seem to have a reason for wanting to be evil. The romantic subplots weren't awesome either ^^:

Yes, I do agree with you here; EAH is likely the better fit! However, that being said, EAH was always attempting to market something; even if the sort appears better than most 2016 - 2023 television series, it was always considered. Now, with Regal Academy, they made a few dolls. Sure, that was interesting; but was it their main goal? Of course not! That's how it kind of aged better with sub-plots. More antagonists could exist, without the worry of making them too main and selling 'their' dolls.
i would like to say that there's this disney webisode series that came out in 2016 called star darlings, i would really love for you to make a video about it

Yeah that class team thing always bugged me. It didn’t make any sense since we hardly ever saw the other teams bar Vicky and the Puss n Boots girl and Rose’s group was the only one that was 5 students. Always felt like the writers only included it to check some kind of box on a to-do list.
Things that dont make sense in R.A:
1. How Kira is the daughter of the Snow Queen when the other characters are the grandchildren of Fairytale characters.
2. How does currency work in the Fairytale world?
3. What happens if they cant graduate? Is that even possible?
And others but I dont feel like typing them out
OF COURSE Ever After High did a better job (I mean... Ever After High is a jewel! How can deny it?) ^u^
But I like the designs and the worldbuilding of Regal Academy. Has a kind of charm. And a good potential. Sadly, the way the episodes were handled for the sake of comedy was... ugh, not always good.
I get two RA Giochi Preziosi dolls a time: they were cute but the legs wasn't as strong enought to support the weight of the doll. (And the hair was just a bit better than theWinx Club dolls as long as you don't brush them.)

HNGKSHFKS the whiplash I got at 8:26, hearing “this random website I found called Bilibili” and then seeing one of China’s _biggest_ streaming/video sites. 😂
I say that not in an “I’m offended way” because I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it-but rather, I say it in a “holy shit what?” way because I wasn’t expecting the mention ahaha. And of course things unique to certain countries very well could be unfamiliar to someone not from said country. Although Bilibili _has_ been growing its international audience lately since they have a channel on CZcams for their donghua (animated series) and they also have an app for their manhua (comics). It started as a fairly exclusive site for fandom before growing into a pretty big media company; it has the donghua and manhua I mentioned but many people can upload to it, making it known as something akin to China’s version of CZcams.
But honestly, on that topic, this entire video was fascinating because it took me by surprise how intertwined China really was with _Regal Academy._ Not by much, but more than I expected.
Specifically, I immediately recognized the logo of Alpha Toys as Chinese, mostly because they’re the producers for the Chinese magical girls series _Balala the Fairies_ (my personal favourite remains the _Finding Melody_ season, which was animated by what I’m pretty sure were the beginnings of BC May studio before they went on to do _Quan Zhi Gao Shou_ and _Mo Dao Zu Shi_ etc. But I hear _Over the Rainbow_ and _Ocean Magic_ are pretty cute too~).
I wonder if that collaboration is why they included Lingling Ironfan, since she’d have to be the (grand?)daughter of Princess Iron Fan, most famously known as one of the antagonists in _Journey to the West._
Although this within itself fascinates me since Princess Iron Fan and her husband, the Bull Demon King, already have a son in the legends-and he’s literally in JttW-known as Hong Hai’er (commonly translated as Red Boy, although it’s perhaps more accurately “Red Child”). So now I’m thinking about the legend itself because like…did Hong Hai’er supposedly have a child after his reformation with the Guanyin Pusa? Or did he get a sister? 😆
It also makes me wonder why out of every Chinese legend they chose Princess Iron Fan specifically. She’s best known for her role in JttW, but JttW is best known for featuring Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. So now I’m wondering if any other Chinese legends were ever referenced, or if Lingling just…exists. Alone. Without the rest of her pantheon lol.
Hey, I mean, I’ll take and appreciate the representation, even if aspects of it surprise or confuse me haha. Especially since I don’t think we ever got to see too many Chinese legends or fairy tales featured in _Ever After High,_ at least from what I could remember. _Disney Descendants_ obviously had Mulan, but yeah. Huh. I’ve seen OCs based on Chinese legends for _Ever After High/Monster High,_ but not anything really in canon itself (I mean, besides Jinafire Long, but she’s in _Monster High_ and while based on a mythical creature, she’s not based on any specific mythical figure. Like I don’t think she’s the daughter of any of the four Dragon Kings or even of Qinglong, especially since they gave her fire powers, despite Chinese dragons being known for their water powers and ability to control the weather).
Anyway I’m really going off into a tangent now but as you can probably tell by my comment, I’m a bit of a Chinese culture/media/history nerd. I specialize in donghua and manhua, although I enjoy cdramas and Chinese music too, and I often like helping newcomers to each fandom with reference lists. Bilibili is a huge key player-along with Tencent/WeTV-in the donghua scene, which is why it took me by such surprise to see it here. ^^
Oh, and one final thing to note…I do personally prefer the designs and animation and story of _Ever After High,_ which I suppose makes sense since they’re a literal fashion doll line and _would_ obviously focus a lot on unique, interesting designs. But I guess I’ll now have a softer spot for _Regal Academy_ for the direct Chinese representation and its connection to Alpha Toys, since I do enjoy _Balala the Fairies_ ahaha. 💖

I do love me Ever After High, but after watching everything, I don't know if it's a case of "too many cooks spoil the broth" or if they didn't plan long term for the franchise, because the whole Destiny thing doesn't hold up the more we see of them. Regal Academy sounds interesting, and hey, two boys as main characters! :D
Ever After High does kinda overdose on girl power, not being a misogynist (I’m a girl myself), and it goes to a point where the boys are kinda overshadowed.

give Dexter a personality aside from being a simp, give Hopper an occasion where he's actually not being dragged around, give Humphrey a cool moment, the tech club needs love, and Daring needs depth
also, give Apple consistency. give Raven some time to think. give Maddie some time to be something aside from the comedic relief.

Me too. I think Dexter should've been more than just the dorky love interest.
I actually think Dexter's design is pretty relevant to how he's necessarily set apart from his siblings as the runt--he's the only one with brown hair, glasses, and doesn't outwardly fit their family's standards. Darling does her thing in secret. I think Dexter had wasted potential--he easily could've been a better character if he had more plot relevance. Give him some screentime with Darling. They were shown to be close in one book. Still, the one time when Dexter is actually using his brain just has him being helped by Raven and his pet jackalope. The tech club could've been plot relevant at some point and not just a clique for irrelevant male characters. Give Humphrey an arc where he stops tripping. Give Hopper self-confidence. Give Dexter an actual personality.
You can tell a lot of love went into EAH, and I miss that show so much 😢

Despite the negativity the comments clearly has, watching it back in 2016 was one of my greatest joys. I loved it- and still do - a lot and I recommend giving it a shot. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it was great, albeit a little childhood, it was amazing.
And I think Ever after High is a bit overrated which has it clear for me which one I think is the best. As much as I love Ever after High, I just think Regal academy deserved so much more love.

Watching this reminded me of fairytale high.
I hadn't watched either of the shows before i saw this but i tried to watch Regal Academy like after seeing this and it was very hard to watch for me. Rose was so.... whats the word unbearably childish, they made her an airhead but like in the cringe way. I got 10 minutes in then gave up. It had potential.
(P.S this is my own opinion, I know some people out there enjoyed the show, so please don't be mean)

I personally think that Regal academy could've a chance If It wasn't due to It's animation. Of course, I wasn't expecting a god tier animation like EAH does, but I personally think that It doesn't look good, It could've been better tbh
