The Melrose and Bolton Abbey.I grew up in Rotterdam and these ships used to go into the Parkkade Rotterdam.I used to go across regurlarly from Rotterdam to Hull.First at Riverside Que and later in Alexander Dock.Great ships bacon and eggs for breakfast.I have lived in Hull more than 50 years still married to the same Hull lass from Waterloo Street.

Thank you. Good photos. I recognise quite a few places.
My dad was from Hull but we lived down South, but visited hull frequently. I have fond memories of my Grandad taking me around Hull as a youngster and showing me the place, including the bits of the docks that we could get to. I remember it (1970) as being quite run-down and rather a smelly place (I think there was a brewery in the centre, and of course the fish - it was still a proper working port then). As a kid born in 1965 I didn't appreciate how devastating the war was in Hull and even in the early 1970s there were plenty of pre-fabs still around.
I don't get to go there so often these days but I try to. As Grandad used to work on the lightship that is now in the marina, there is always a bit of him there.

Love the photos, would have liked longer on each photo and the jiggling about was distracting
