@jared on the wing, if you can afford it, buy a secondary trunk lid, install the wing on it and just swap trunk lids on the days you race it, that way you don't sacrifice daily driving for it. Its slightly more work on track days but you get both worlds just for the cost of a trunk lid.
Jared, I think the wing is overkill on daily driver but it'd be nice to have a premount kit on there so you can bring out the wing during Track days. Keep up the amazing work.

Tokyo JZA80 the older years of the IS-F aren’t great track cars anyways because of the diff that’s in it. The newer years have a lot of improvements that include the diff.

I'd take that red one all day long. There's a few IS-F's around me and they're all black. The most common color of that model. I know Matador Red is the rarest color option, so you got a much better version sir imo :-D
I wanted white or silver but I found a black one with 12k miles, so... mine is black (had sworn no more black cars lol, oops)
Stock wheels were way better looking. Just get them powder coated. No to the wing.

Not cheap unless over 150,000 miles then it’s $15,000. The isF under 100,00 miles isn’t cheap unless you have $23,000 for a used reliable Lexus
Buy an used Audi s6 with the v10, they’re quite reliable and go for around 10-12k.
Only problem is carbon buildup due to it being direct injection, but with a little knowledge you could probably clean it in a couple of hours

My younger brother is a Toyota master tech and he went to Dallas for a training school at the big Toyota training facility. His instructor was an old hand who had crewed for Dan Gurney back in the day. One of the last days of the class they had some free time so the instructor treated them and he checked out one ISF for each of the students from the Lexus facility next door and let them have an hour to play with them on the Toyota test track

Have had my 11’ F for the last three years and love it. Don’t do the wing (ugh), had a 10’ in the Obsidian black and yes, a pain to make it look good but when it looked good, it looked gggoooooooddddd. Gotta say, the red stands out to me a little more Over the black. Mine is Starfire pearl and and always wanted USB. Thanks for showcasing the F! There were only 5,118 imported to the US so there is a select few of us out here but are hardcore! Keep up the great vids Jared! Hope to pass you on the road if you are up here in the ATL someday!
Lexus tech here, thankful for the coverage of this vehicle! Idk why so many people overlook it! Although, I'm personally more intrigued by the GS F. It's definitely bigger than the IS F, but I actually need it for car seat space!

I love Lexus. I've had damn near every brand except exotics. The one car I miss dearly is my 2004 LS430 but end up buying a 08 LS460. I love Lexus.
I have an 08 LS480 as well! Mines metallic burgundy with chrome wheels. It’s absolutely phenomenal. I’ve always liked the 04-06 LS430 styling a little better tho. Never owned one of those
@@805NAVE the 04 to 06 ls430 has the sleeker headlights and its just such a great car. Idk why I like the style better than the ls460. But Lexus just period makes a great car. They drive so smooth especially the 430.
@@805NAVE mine is the green color that has the grayish tint, at first I wasn't a fan of the color but it grew on me. Are you having issues with the interior? They call it the sticky interior. I was gonna take mine back to the dealership to have it fixed, there's a recall on it. Unfortunately coronavirus came and idk if its still eligible

good to see that you enjoy it and put a good amount of miles on it. I use to tow for AAA and usually when I got a call for a Lexus it was just a dead battery or an old LS with a dead starter. you can't go wrong with a Lexus or Toyota. I only drive a Maxima cause Toyota doesn't have a 6-speed manual option for the V6 Camry..
I love the red one, shows the body lines a lot better. There’s a blue one for sale near my house and I absolutely love that shade of blue. Gonna go talk to the dealer and test drive it this weekend. This video came out at the perfect time 😉

That Blue Magic polish is good stuff. I've used it on a lot of bits, especially on the chrome steel wheels my Jeep came with.
I really like the stock wheel design. I guess with your kind of driving its better to have more rubber contact but the stock wheels actually suit really well. (When they're clean )

Honestly one of my top favorite cars that i would never really talk about until i bought my 08 ultrasonic blue isf(also best color lmao) but its definitely a cool car not a lot of people know about.
Also for the wing i think its a good idea but i think the wing should be pushed back slightly with new uprights to help keep that wedge style. In my opinion the ubrupt end of the trunk could be fixed a little
I had an 08 ISF with ISS Forged exhaust and some other goodies, best car I ever owned and best sounding. Definitely a top notch car in my opinion.
I hope I can buy one before the prices go up 😂

Honestly, for a daily driver the wing is too big but if you track it about once every week, then maybe the wing would be a good idea, and to make it look good I’d say somewhat of a wide body kit but that’s going overkill imo. If you love widebodies then go for it. It’s your car bro 👍

Love both colors, the black gives it a sleek look, but the red one has more Carbon-fiber which gives it a nice contrast. The red one also has different/ better looking headlights. If Jared's had the same amount of carbon/lights I'd prefer the black one -minus the wing. But between the two as they are. Red.

My personal opinion is the black wheels looked better, the wing is hideous and just looks tacky. Between the red and black I would choose the black. 🤷♂️
I think you should put a camera on there with aero strings and see where the boundary layer separates. Lower the wing by shortening the mount. You have to remove the short upper wing because it is definitely cutting higher speed efficiency.
I also have a matador red mica ISF, and I wish I had the black ISF for extra sleeper points.

11’ and up is when the prices are no longer “cheap”. I’m lucky and bought a 11’ with 155k. But yeah that spoiler looks awesome but definitely track only. I like the square set up but i don’t run spacers. I have 285s in the rear. 255s up front. I’m also FBO tuned from RR. And i just bought a oil cooler, trans cooler and radiator for it. Soon I’ll upgrade the suspension and call it day. Have you thought about upgrading your LSD since you track it?
I have been curious to ceramic coat the paint on golf metal woods to protect from light sand scratching. The wing is out, extended duckbill , or flat deck extension. Got stay classy rolling vip.

The wing looks ugly, and the only thing it adds at real world speeds is drag.
@@charlesclark3840 under daily driving conditions you won't be going fast enough to get the effects of drag. On a road course with RWD and 400hp stability is what you want.
@@KeenanStyles I might be mistaken, but I believe you will have measurable drag on the highway, but not meaningful downforce. I am sure that it will be an eyesore though.
@@charlesclark3840 thats irrelevant as under daily driving conditions you are not looking to set speed records anyway and the majority of drivers on the road in modern day spend most of their time in towns and at stop lights where you will not be going fast enough to be effected regardless.

Red ISF is sick Dwyane! Jarrad, Spoiler is a bit much for taking Pira to the park, but it is super awesome that it's active and has a cable with the breaks!!!! Most Spoilers are useless, tough call on the spoiler I'm torn!
The wing is Cool, but maybe just a tad too much. If you are looking for something a tad more aggressive but still clean. Check out the Wald style Spoiler, I like the way it fits the car better.

I have daily driven one since 2009. Only mod I have made is the oem LSD. Car isn't the fastest, but makes a great daily driver with some fun.

The red shows off the body lines more then the black but the black looks very sleek and elegant but down where you are in Georgia black car will get insanely hot they are both awesome colors

@@kaetos03 A supercar is something people should recognize and pay attention to, not something people should be "trying to figure out what it is". Modern supercars do usually handle well, but the most iconic ones of the 70s and 80s had terrible handling.
The wings over kill. But i can see why you would want one both for looks and function on the car. Maybe try to find a less intrusive looking design that will add a good amount of benefit to the car on the track. While also filling out the truck area nicely for just bouncing around.
220k miles is awesome!!! Cant wait for mechanical updates. Hopefully some input on maintenance its needed to stay healthy

Get another trunk from a yard or something, or CF if you're feeling to make more questionable choices, and mount the wing on that, so you can swap it for races/track events, etc. I think the wing is a great idea, but when needed.

that ceramic coating can protect piano black finnish on plastics? those get bad and are magnets for fingerprints
With the ceramic coating, can you do a scratch test to see if it will protect your car from being keyed?
Diy Active aero is a great idea but no fit for this particular car. How about earl leaker or honda rousey?
Puck up a crashed trunk lid and fit wing to it and go test it for how it functions then deside if its perfect for ur car
Jared, love the black. I really don't see that wing working out for the daily driver, should think about putting it on another project and get some use out of it on the track. :)
doing a wing isn't a bad idea giving the features it provides. if possible get the wing to sit a bit closer to the trunk and maybe shrinking it in a bit will look a bit better, and making it removable for daily use will be also a nice idea again if possible

I prefer the red. I would off set it with a little black though. As far as the wing, I wouldn't. Right now it's a sleeper & I love it for that.
