  • Today's patient is a young, otherwise very healthy mom who was suffering from high blood pressure, low potassium, heart palpitations and more. She saw a cardiologist, who luckily noted that it was not normal for a young, healthy woman to have high blood pressure. He ran some tests and her aldosterone was high and her renin was low. This proved she had primary hyperaldosteronism.
An imaging scan further proved it, showing a tumor on her adrenal gland. She travel to Tampa and underwent a mini back scope adrenalectomy with Dr. Carling. Her blood pressure normalized immediately after surgery and she is now off all of her medications!
