    Burlap is definitely the way to go. It works great for me as well. I just use the carpet gripper tack strips. I haven't had any problem with the burlap not staying on the frame. But I'm glad to see a CZcamsr actually use burlap because most that I see use tufting or monks cloth which is literally like 10x the price. And the burlap doesn't affect the quality of the rugs at all.

    For the staples, buy a magnet on a stick. The helps me when I'm sewing and need to put my pins somewhere and when I knock them over 😅

    Bro you're the king! Have you experienced any issues on burlap with loop pile? Saw another youtuber saying she was having issues but it was her first use and may have been technique not the burlap.

      I just did posted a video using both loop and cut pile gun on the same rug. I've never had problems with the loop pile but many with cut pile

    Omg i think this is what I needed. Burlap and every other fabric I’ve been using has made huge holes on me even though my technique has gotten so much better and straight. The fabric isn’t tight enough and I should staple it. I’m gonna try it today. Thank you so much 🥹

      If you continue to create hole then it’s the gun you’re using. I recommend having the gun with the red trigger vs the black trigger. The black trigger gun is more powerful for burlap I’ve noticed

    When we learned to stretch canvas in college, they said put one staple in the middle then in then the opposite side.....that’s the way to get a very tight stretched canvas.

      you can use the other side of the wood frame for burlap and the tack strip side for monks cloth ect :D. I attached my frame to a 25$ horsey

      Cut Pile I like better. I buy all my guns from Amazon. I can't speak for guns purchased from tuft the world because I never purchased one. The link in the description to the tufting gun is what I use and I'm purchasing more to teach classes

    does it make a difference if the burlap threads aren't perfectly straight on the frame. they look just a lil bit wavy when i stretched it

      I had that problem when i first started. I think you have to push your gun in the burlap more while tufting to see if that changes things

    Hi, this is a great video. Just wondering do you know how many Oz the burlap you use is? I see 7,10 and 12 oz online, 7oz seems to be the most affordable, but I don't know if it will mean a poorer quality of rug compared to 10 and 12 oz.

    I switched from monks cloth to burlap back in April and never went back. I’ve never made a hole since. It’s sooooo much easier to use.

    Is there any way to re stretch the burlap during the tufting process, without having to pull existing staples out? I don't know if im pressing to hard or what, but my burlap gets loose during tufting.

      Hey I figured out that if you leave enough fabric around the edges then fold it under to double the fabric and staple to the sides of your frame it stays tight the whole time. I obviously still staple around the front but doubling on the edges helps it from slipping. Just wanted to share.

    I recently bought burlap from joans however i am not a fan id there different type because the one i have i made holes and its not streching enoughyl the lines in the fabric are bot str8… i wanted burlap to work because its much cheaper but now im not sure im so behind in orders! Help!

      If you're using the gun with the black trigger I learned that it's too powerful for burlap and you may have to use primary cloth or purchase the gun with the red trigger from the link in my description

      I bought the garden section burlap my 1st time and could get really tight stitches, however, i have learnt that there is Super Fine Hessian (burlap). Check if they sell it in your area, just found it locally and ordered a few minutes ago. It was even a tad cheaper for more.

    I can only find really bad cheap burlap for plants and it's driving me nuts. The only good stuff I find is like $150 for 20 yards right now. I ruined like 2 rugs trying to use it. The fiber threads are way too far apart and break super easily even just stretching it too much :(

      I live in Canada, I usually never have any issues finding things online or at the store too. I wonder what's going on with that.

      If you can order things from Walmart you tacan look up rolls of burlap natural

      I also use burlap. Im also having this problem..when I stretch the fabric to tighten it up..it just tears..

    I just worry about the fact that burlap breaks down, disintegrates over time and even faster if it gets wet! All the work you put into these beautiful rugs will be gone....

      Most people hang it on the wall or put it in a room that no one steps on so it'll be fine

    I can’t use my gun on anything! It has this huge needle and it rips everything I’ve tried on... I’m so disappointed!
