Amazing attention to detail bruv. If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well and you most definitely have done a wonderful job. It's a joy to see the way you've put so much love and care into recreating the most iconic scooter to ever lay rubber to road. Thank you for the video.
this scooter is what reignited the mods in the late 70s along with the film of course and I for one have never been without a scooter for over 30yrs because of quadrophenia - awesome scooter buddy I'm sure the majority of us would love to own it ktf
I got told from a very reliable source that the original jimmy quadrophenia scooter was bought by someone in aberdeen and has it in secret storage somewhere
I used to knock about with the lad who actually found and restored the original scoot. Kevin Percival who found it in an old guys garden in Portsmouth and he bought it for about £70 back then. He fully restored it and held onto it for a few years before finally selling it on…I think it’s changed hands a fair few times since then.
I watched the film several times but did not catch even a fraction of the detail that you show here. Do you have an alternative source? Anyway the one in the film was totaled in a crash with a Royal Mail van towards the end. I wish yours fares better.
The one in the film when Jimmy crashes into the post van isn't an LI Lambtetta. The headlight is a different shape , and the Southend sticker isn't even on it . A totally different sticker is in its place. Pause the film as he picks his scooter up, and you'll see the mistakes 👌🏻
Nice job!!! Seen the scoot with the magnetic 'C' somewhere before (Allstyles)? Does the Ken Cobbin exhaust have the washer style back pressure plate inside the rear can about 6" inside (which got knocked out by many in the 60's to make more noise)? Need that for the scoot to actually go properly. Managed to get the actual reg "251 KRU" (ie reversal of original film reg) for mine from DVLA!
It was just the fashion in the 60s. You could buy stick on letters in every car spares shop in those days. You even had to make up your own reg plates. Every car spares place sold them.
GS Jimmy wos on on the clf head is. My best but I like Jimmy is wos the best in the quadrophenia I have GS tattoo GS vcb160 I will get Jimmy lab tattoo on my ham ok quadrophenia dvd is the best and v d o to I am a big fan of the q
A scooter is what A child stands on with one foot & pushes with the other foot,A bike with A motor on is called A motorbike or motorcycle, why people keep calling A motorbike or motorcycle A scooter is absolutely ridiculous, its like calling A ship A boat or A airplane A hand glider or A car A go cart, humans always believe what some fool called them A very long time ago & have just carried on calling them scooters even though there not,no matter what you try telling people they will still swear blind there called A scooter & argue the toss with you over it,brain washed humans🙄🙄🙄🙄

Did the original have 175/200 engine mounts and a Gp airhose?
WHO DID YOU USE TO GET THE VINYL FOR YOUR TYRES BUD?

Lovely job. But the one sold at bonham wasn't a replica it was actually jimmys li from quadrophenia
I have ken cobbing exhaust exactly the same with a side exit tailpipe.
Does that mean mine is an original ken cobbing.

Superb job. Could you explain why they put Capital letters decals on the front?

To remind them which model scooter they had when buying parts.
