Accidentally giving the tower to Ray, having his hidden room discovered, losing the tower after finding it in “Find the Tower”. Minecraft wasn’t good for Gavin in the early years.

Even 10 years later, the sequence of Gavin illegally preventing Ray from winning, legal preventing Ray from winning, then unwittingly giving him the win anyway is still one of the single best moments of all their Minecraft videos.

Geoff seemed to be foreshadowing Gavin's failure with the whole "block immediately to the right of your name"

Ahsain this ending was better than wool because Gavin loses due to his own stupidity and not everyone ganging up on him
Alternatively, better than wool because the true winner won. Ray would have won without Gavin's irl interference, and Gavin should have won Wool but didn't because he was asked to stall.

Lol, Gavin physically stops Ray from getting the tower, no one seriously bats an eye. Ryan breaks a block under Michael, the whole room flips out.
i think cos Gavin so rarely ever wins even WITH his cheating that people don't take it that seriously, lol. But Ryan is damn good at just about everything and he doesn't need to cheat to win, so they get a little more upset. I dunno, it's not fair, but w/e lol.
I think it was a mix of Gavin got his first strike and then since he had just cheated, everyone was mad at Ryan for doing it, and Geoff wanting to extend the Let's Play.
It was because everyone knew Ray was going to win had Gavin not cheated but Ryan could have been caught. So when Ryan cheated he was cheating to win, Gavin cheated to keep the game going.
Brendan Maxwell Gavin's purpose is both as the video editor and as a fomenter of chaos, namely to disrupt the efforts of Michael, Ryan, Ray, and Jack.
I think that it was more along the lines that Ray could still have won the round even with the 'obstruction', but Ryan had broken the block, meaning that even if he did fuck up and die somehow, nobody would be able to reach the finish line because the jump would've been too great
kudos to geoff for stopping himself before he completed “he’s gonna dismantle-“, and for ray tackling gavin which also distracted geoff, which resulted in one of the funniest AH lets play endings

This episode is like.. THE classic. Ryan's unstated rule accident, Ray's happiness, Gavin messing things up..

You don't have to miss him. Ray Narvaez Jr. Is his YT channel. He uploads all his Twitch streams! He's really peaceful and having tons of fun! Doing his thing being good at games!~ I recommend you go over it's a wonderful place to be.

This was just recommended in my feed, reminds me of waiting every week for the upload then the next day at school laughing with my friends because we all watched it 5 times already. The earliest AH lets plays are just real examples of guys having fun playing video games, something thats hard to replicate and hard to describe but it brings a warm feeling inside knowing they are having fun and letting you watch and laugh along. Thanks for the memories guys. the jokes, the bits, the happiness you brought and letting me connect with my friends over some idiots playing Minecraft.

This is still one of my favorite Let's Plays of all time. And I know how much it killed Goeff and Gavin to build this, but (since the height levels increased), I would love to do another Clouds where there's a track above that one, then they have to ride down, beat the old one, and then win.
There would be no threat of needing two wins, either, just the one would do.

When this video first came out, I was at my cousins house. I'm younger than he was. I remember watching this video over his shoulder on his phone. This was the first AH video I ever watched and I fell in love with you guys. This was also the last video of the decade that I watched. Its kind of poetic. The editor just put it in post recording. it's just an effect from their editing software. They did good timing both times tho
