The 2 Click Chirp Flare (or Chirp to 2 Click Flare) combines a chirp with a 2 click flare to create a funky 8 note combo. Using the twiddle technique allows you to attain greater speed with less effort - just make sure it’s clean! If you can do this wrist style at fast speeds, you are a beast!

Took me ages to learn this scratch. It was the first one I actually dedicated a whole week to. I literally would only scratch that scratch. Definitely tightened it up.
Me too, thats the way of deliberate practice, keep on!
Fantastic tutorial as per usual. I always peep your vids to keep myself tight.
I've been getting pretty quick and cozy with the chirp flare and have been wondering how I can spice it up. Time to hit the studio and get back to practicing! Thanks for everything you do to advance the art form!

Thank you DJShortE, you are one of the best teachers of Skratching on the internet, I love the way you break it down so slowly & meticulously that it's so easy to learn. I have been watching your videos since about 2007 & you have thought me so much, keep up the good work, because there are too many DJ Course's on line that don't break it down the way you do, keep up the good work DJ ShortE, this is definitely your vocation, peace & love to you for helping me learn a new instrument. Peace & love to you & all in the Skratching family, John W.
all them hours you do to help other people learn this BEAUTIFUL ART peace & love, John 🕗🙌✌🏻️🇨🇮.

BMP 23 my brain is not wrapping around the technique and with her doing it effortlessly is really killing lol
So fluid
damn that double-timing though
awesome
Sorry, noticed that you had the reverse on your crossfader. Is that the standard or just preference.
I copied the link for the loop but couldnt find the one you used in this tutorial.
Sweeet lawwdhammercy this is a dope scratch!
Always great cuts by you, this is why i always recommended your videos.
Others have asked but the link you posted doesnt work, an I ask what instrumental that is at 4:37.
Tha ks in advance.
hi it's DJ Revolution - Dynamic Duo but it was on a looper - the instrumental is on the elements looper here: www.tablist.net/looper/elements-90th-looper
Veryyy sick
thank you!
how can I do this with regular fader hand
Great 👏👏👏
I've always struggled with 2 clicks cos I find myself pausing. I'd previously sussed out I could do them with two fingers but tried not to do it as I thought I was doing it wrong. I'm gonna start to twiddle my flares now lol. I'm Like your in that I also crab with only 3 fingers too.
George McArdle have fun with it!
im not sure myabe this is the right word in your language : i hold the fader solidly ?
Whoever did the thumbs down are lost souls. Great tutorial Emma.
😊 thank you
great video !
i have a other question ;)
i think my holding of the fader is not good for any scratch im not sure. i hold the fader with my two fingers tight together the whole time i do a chirp or a flare. there is no space between the fader and the fingers. i think my position is not so good for fast chirps should i try to learn it new with some space between the fader and the finger ?
i hope you understand its hard to explain in english ;)
short version is ok to hold the fader every time or do it like a C shape with space between or hit the fader with one finger to right side and with other finger to left side(right handed)
MrFab189 You can use whatever method feels natural and relaxed to you. i tend not to keep a firm hold, favoring taps.
I'm getting the hang of this and can do it with fairly good speed BUT like most the scratches and combos I've learnt now with the quickness, I can't keep it up for more than 5 seconds without my fingers breaking down and the platter hand and the fader hand start losing its sync lol..do alot of people struggle with this when learning how to scratch ?
yes! I did! Go slow, much slower This is an advanced technique. Slow down to speed up always!
bon tutoriel
Hey just wondering if you have a link to this beat please.Iv been learning alot from you over the last 3 months..5 scratches in 2 months thank you so much

Easy!

you are so cool
Your instructions are indeed very "learner" friendly!
DJ Freddy D Delrosario Thanks! My goal!
***** I have DJ'ed for years starting in 93, I mixed, I know my baby scratches but never got into anything technical. I've seen and watched other DJ's such as Q and got discouraged and said I will never be able to make my scratches sound as meaningful as other DJ's, I will stick to mixing....But then I came upon your instructions I can can actually absorb, thank you for this! much appreciated!
DJ Freddy D Delrosario This makes me so very happy that I could help you! Keep on!
@@godfather1116 dude the best scratch DJs are only good because they pratice more than everyone else. There is no easy way or quick way. Just hours days years
I was going to say you were cheating using the twiddles, then you showed the correct way. Mad skills! :DD
brian thomaston ha i try!
I've been doing this but never knew what it was
Anyone have good trick to keep hands moisturized/tacky to help fingers stay in place and not lose your sound on the record? (With out the constant licking of fingers)
Clinton Brooks try amzn.to/1e8cvVl
***** awesome!!!! Thank you so much!!
What Scratch track is this and is it available digitally??
FLYOBDAB Just superseal - on the thudrumble website
Subtitles are impossible (for me it's "French"), please, can you activate it ?
A big thank you in advance, and also for your work of explanation.
Les Sous-titres sont impossible (pour moi c'est le "French"), please, pouvez vous l'actionner ?
Un grand merci d'avance, et aussi pour votre travail d'explication.
Hi, I am not sure how to activate them? I cannot see any option for auto captions anywhere.
Does anyone know what the instrumental beat is that starts at 4:37? cheers
Sure do: www.scratchloopers.com/loopers/ed746446-254a-4199-92a2-a2a43428d93d.swf top left!
Thanks!
sweet to see a female skratcher that can really cut and cuts my style. strong hand fader, hamster. in newer vids i don't see you use the pdx but back on techs. i've considered it but even the mk1s felt like they were super fragile and would break. debating on the reloops but wouldn't wanna have to trade in my techs for them. any specific reason you're no longer using the pdx? i like how the ultra pitch is a fader. if it had the build feel of the super oems id get one in a heartbeat.
kazukami I just am head over heels in love with my technics!
ahh yes the monatomic scratch ;-)
Is your cross fader reversed in this ?
Yes it is! I have a video in my channel which explains in detail - look for "hamster" or "reverse".
i think u missed that your fader is in reverse, case peeps findn it hard
Thanks, yes! www.studioscratches.com/how-to-learn-from-a-hamster-reverse-crossfader-style-scratch-dj-if-you-scratch-regular/
⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥
It looks like she did a Chirp and a twiddle tap together to create the sounds
Hey, sorry for delayed reply I really appreciate you taking the time to share this! All the best!
The fader in reverse throws me. I guess if all you do is scratch it works. My mixes would be terrible trying to relearn mixing with the fader reversed.
I love mixing in reverse too! Just a practice thing. Natural for me now.
Dammmnnnn.
does this work for controllers
+malik davis yes!
+Studio Scratches thanks
Photo Cred but it's easier with vinyl
This blows my mind, i have never used my fader "hamster style 😢
Mortel!!!
Dommage que ce soit en hamster
studioscratches.com/how-to-learn-from-a-hamster-reverse-crossfader-style-scratch-dj-if-you-scratch-regular/ for you
now do it reverse please. I dont do this way. and I use my wrist to flare. I guess iam wrong
Hi you are not wrong at all. This is quite an advanced tutorial, in my basic tutorials I explain everything in terms of open and closed fader so its easier to follow along.
