Journeyman for the most part know how to survive in fights. That’s why they’re journeyman. They offer some semblance of resistance. But this guy wasn’t even a journeyman, he was a white collar fighter. I know for a fact that there’s a dozen journeyman who would have easily stepped in short notice to fight Clarke but instead they got this guy. No disrespect to him but this was hand picked to give Clarke a devastating stoppage win on his debut and as a result we got a disgraceful mismatch. White collar fighter making his debut vs an Olympian!
Would love to see a wilder fury type trilogy with these two

A lot of ppl in the comments new to boxing. Prospects fighting journeyman early in careers have been happening for a century or more in boxing. Not only is the prospect honing his skillset but he's letting his coaches know where's he at in terms of experience. Literally all champions fight journeyman for the first 5-15 fights or more depending on how fast they unproven.
Lomachenko is one of the rare champions that never fought a journeyman. Might be a couple others but in my time Loma is the only one.
This is up there for some of the most disgusting match making in boxing history

When Daniel Dubois made his debut he boxed a Cornishman who was a fat cruiserweight as an amateur. The Kernow bey took the fight because he was offered 8 grand. Same thing, basically.
