I love number one but number three with the sow and cub nothing more powerful than giving life and you caught that Beautifully. all of them very well done❤
I liked photo number 1.It shows the strength of the bear and those long claws say, "Beware." Everything is so sharp; even the water droplets. The eyes show the bear is focused and running with purpose.
Tim, I'm a direct response copywriter. I Had to write you a note about your ad that HOOKED me so good I signed up. The thing is, I watch youtube all the time and 90% of people never catch my attention. Your ad that started with "If you were to take a phone of that tree, how would you do it? etc..." So... Damn... good. I'm sure you're killing it. I'll reach out to you another time. Take care!
So awesome to hear! It is great to know that my hook worked for that ad. I should make more just like that one. "If you were photographing this grizzly bear, how would you do it? " haha. Thanks for writing!
I'm for number 1 as it is full of action and that paw and claws brings out the the fact that the bear means business and you better get out of her way.
Photo three. I love the balance. It's almost like a mirror image into the past (or future) of the bear's life. I learn a lot from your video's, as I am planning to get out full time RVing to do exactly what you are now doing.
Photo one is awesome for me. Raw explosive moment caught like just now! Photo 2 is great too! awesome Photos! Looks like you had a great time. Congratulations on a great bunch of pictures.
I love #2 - this photo shows the regal nature of the Grizzly and simply draws you in with her powerful, calculating gaze. Photo #1 is a very close second, showing the power, fierceness and gracefulness that these amazing animals have.
This is a good video, good info and amazing photography/scenery. It is hard to choose between those photos, but Photo 1 is a close #1 over the other two. All 3 are wonderful and paint a picture of the moments you had.
Really, I love them all, but number three is special. I have enjoyed your transformation class and it really has transformed my photography and way of thinking.
Photo 1, explosive! I have come upon your channel by searching the CZcams community of photography. I’ve got to say you have me going through my photos to find my own “3”. Your amazing! If I had Facebook I’d join your team, so I’ll follow on IG and CZcams.
#1 is full of action, shows her power, her anger, her protective mother-instincts, in motion. #2 is mostly neutral for me. A nice pic. #3 brings out my own emotion, sadness at seeing a very old bear nearing the end of her life cycle, possibly completing her cycle with these cubs. There was another photo that I liked as well as # one, but I have no way of pinpointing for you which one it was. Beautiful, Tim.
Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure and photos. Wish I could shoot photos and videos at the same time. Gotto do an adventure like this with two photographers.
Hi Marc, you are so right. My wife shot the video and I shot the stills. You definitely need two people, plus another person to drive the boat. We did a different grizzly bear trip last summer with just the two of us. I was almost impossible for me to take photos and drive the boat...obviously. But you need a third person for sure.
Thank you so much Lewie! It was super exciting to be there in that moment and the charge happened so fast I hardly knew it had happened. Good thing we were in a boat in deep water!
Nice vacation, Glad You Went? I like photos of the Griz # 2&3. Nice truck and camper, you might want to install a good winch and bumper. That muddy road look awful.
Yes Number 2 did it for me too. Beautiful BC! Loved all the shots...how exciting!!! If you could share your camera settings on some of these shots it helps us learn!
Outstanding!!! Love all three. If you ever get an opportunity (put it on your bucket list) - Give Katmai National Park (Katmai Falls) a try; I had an opportunity to go there and the bears and opportunities to capture a LOT of shots is unbelievable. It's a flight into Anchorage and then a float plane trip to Katamai....As we came into the Brooke's Lodge area we had to circle in the water as there was a sow and two cubs walking right down the beach. Keep up the great work!
Hi Keith! Yes, Katmai National Park is number one on my list for the next grizzly bear trip. In fact, we tried to get there in the summer of 2020 but covid stymied our plans. With that said, we got to experience this lesser known location and katmai is still there waiting for us to discover it. Hopefully in 2021 we will get there! Thanks for writing. Tim
They each, tell a different story, so it is difficult to choose. However, I have selected # 3 shows the power of the mother and also the bond with her cub.
Looks like an awesome trip. Heading there later this year. The 3 pics are awesome, but the face not being sharp on the first kills it for me. Anyway, awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Number one is my pick and number three. I like the action and movement in one. In three I like the size comparison giving perspective of the two animals. For someone who spends half the year at sea I understand the difficulties of shooting on water and struggle with the metering
Awesome ! Loved all the photos.Photo # 1, I like the best -Mama Bear was waving .Keep up the great adventures Tim ! I really love wildlife photography & have started to capture a few photos myself just from taking your class's ! So inspiring ! Love these videos ! Happy New Year ! Jeni
Awesome video! - - - This makes me want to get back into photography. - - - 7:44 - If you only want me to choose between those three shots, I'll have to go with #3. The composition is pretty much perfect & it tells a story. - - - You got a lot of really good shots that day and that's not easy when you're hold and looking through a 500mm zoom. You need a steady hand indeed. Can you imagine doing it with an old school 35mm SLR? Those lenses where HEAVY - LOL - and there was no video mode with 240fps to steal frames from. That's what I used 40 years ago and I still have all that old Nikon equipment - lol. I should probably sell it. The Nikor lenses are actually auto-focus. I wonder if they are still compatible with the new bodies??? Hmmmmm - - - Thanx for taking us along!
Favourite: #1 -- the way she is slapping the water with her massive paws (to send a message to the intruder!) is a rarely seen or captured behaviour of these bears. If she could talk you'd have heard something like "Alright mister! That is close enough! Now I'm getting ticked off!"
You did get the shots. Enjoyed them very much. I once killed a bear of this magnifacence and regretted it for the last 40 years. I captured an abandoned spirit bear, mostly black with al white paws and sent him to a sanctuary to be released next year. Perhaps the spirits will forgive me. # 1 jumps at me and I feel the bear, magnificent. Thank You.
Number One For Me For sure. Awesome opportunity Tim. Thanks ever so much for sharing.
Tim, I'm a direct response copywriter. I Had to write you a note about your ad that HOOKED me so good I signed up.

So awesome to hear! It is great to know that my hook worked for that ad. I should make more just like that one. "If you were photographing this grizzly bear, how would you do it? " haha. Thanks for writing!
#1 - it captured the moment that the bear to front of you and make viewers feel like you are in the scene. You feel the bear’s wilderness power.
Photo 1, and photo 3 are my favs. Love the video.
I cannot judge the best of the three. They are all tach sharp and gorgeous! Kudos.
#2 is my favourite. Wow fabulous photos
Amazing trip - thanks for sharing. Love the first photo!
I like the paw in the air photo with the splashing water. By far, this is the best of the 3 that you posted.
Great tour 👍👍 I Think number 2 is very powerfull and a great shot👍
I vote for #1. I love the paw and claws in the air as she defends her territory. Nyall London
I'm for number 1 as it is full of action and that paw and claws brings out the the fact that the bear means business and you better get out of her way.
#1 is my favorite with the paw in the air. #2 is everything you said; it's an awesome photo but #1 is the winner for me. Loved the video, btw!!
So much detailed description of the tour. Key points clearly explained. As if we were with you guys at the time. Very informative. Thanks!
Number one! Movement, power, water... all great
I love number 1. Keep shooting these wonderful photos!
1 for sure! Great picture!
It’s tough to pick between 3, but in my opinion, number 1edges out the rest. Wonderful job Tim!
Thanks George! It is pretty hard to ignore the drama from photo number one. Thanks for your vote.
You are a marvel, Tim. Love all 3 photos, but #1 I am partial to.
haha, thank you Kaohua! No grizzlies in Hawaií but you have such amazing landscapes to photograph. Would love to be there now!
Amazing trip and photos, Tim! The best photo is the first one because it expresses the bear's dynamic action so lively.
Great video Tim! I vote for pic #2. Thank you!
one of my dreams ! Wow photo #1 is my favorite
Your photos are amazing! It is hard to pick a favorite but I might favor #1.
Thank you Sheila!
We absolutely love them all but number 3 was our favourite ❤️❤️
Photo three. I love the balance. It's almost like a mirror image into the past (or future) of the bear's life. I learn a lot from your video's, as I am planning to get out full time RVing to do exactly what you are now doing.
1 is I like as it shows power and movement. Thank you for the hard work. Keep it up.
What a trip! Photo No. 1 would be one that I would strive for!
I absolutely loved the first photo. Showing her claws and nails demonstrated a fierce challenge about to ensue. Martha Leland, Manchester, CT
Hi Martha, don't you just love those claws! They look great from afar, but I would not want to see them close up. Thank you for writing! Tim
I like them all but I think #2 is the best.
Love the first one. It’s pretty amazing and also looks like she’s waving to you 😁
Wow. Great adventure and beautiful photos. Love it.
Love the charging grizzly. You never disappoint Tim with your photos and your lessons.
Thank you so much Melanie!
This is a good video, good info and amazing photography/scenery. It is hard to choose between those photos, but Photo 1 is a close #1 over the other two. All 3 are wonderful and paint a picture of the moments you had.
Thank you Teresa!
I love all three but number 1 is my favorite
Awesome!! Perth, Western Autralia #1...for me!!
Really, I love them all, but number three is special. I have enjoyed your transformation class and it really has transformed my photography and way of thinking.
That is really great to hear JL. Thank you for letting me know. So awesome to hear about the improvements to your photography! Tim
Photo 1, explosive!
I have come upon your channel by searching the CZcams community of photography.
I’ve got to say you have me going through my photos to find my own “3”.
Your amazing! If I had Facebook I’d join your team, so I’ll follow on IG and CZcams.
Wow, thank you so much Mo'Mo' Traveling!
All three are exceptional. Photo two - the eyes, the texture of the fur, the expression ( here kitty kitty!) Very fun, very nice!
Absolutely fantastic. No 1 is my best though - you nailed it!
Photo one is my favorite. Motion, water movement and seeing that powerful paw (and claws) with fixed eyes make this for me..VGW
Love all three images, but I am loving number #1 a bit more. Great work! Awesome.
I would go for number 1. The power and action are exploding from this picture !!
Thank you Marcel!
I like number 1 and 3, they are all spectacular❤️
Beautiful photos, and what a Majestic being!
Cool video! What an experience to spend time with those bears!
Photo no 1 is best for me Tim, I think the composition of motion power and wild is presented
Great effort. Thanks for sharing. Atleast we could see.. All the pics shown in the video are great, My personal favorite is 1st one ..
I liked #1 the most, however, they were all great photos!
Great this video and the photos are awesome!! 🔥 I'll pick the number 3 because I loved the cub mirroring the mom 😄
Can I say all of them, so jealous. But love living vicariously through you. Thank you.
Haha, thanks Tracy!
Very nice!!!!!
Very super photos! The recording is also good!
Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure and photos. Wish I could shoot photos and videos at the same time. Gotto do an adventure like this with two photographers.

@@TimShieldsPhotography have you seen the shots of the woman being attacked by a leopard and the husband took pictures?
Photo number two says it all
Photo 2 is my favourite- you captured it just at the right time
I like the one with the mother and cub. But they are all good.
I liked #3 and yet all of them are very nice...
No 1 ! Powerful and awesome
I liked Photo 1 - alive and coming at you.
They are all Great, but I like #2 the best. #1 would be my second choice because I feel like the bear is almost waving even though it isn't.
Tim, I love photo #1 the best. It’s great how you capture and show the action of the grizzly charging you! Great job!
That muddy road look awful.
how amazing it must have been to see those big super predators, would love to experience this one day
Make it happen Andrew. Start your research and planning! Thanks for your comment.
The number 3 for me !
I love photo #1 the best
Really nice footage and so beautiful animals :)
Stay tuned and hope to see more from you!
Yes Number 2 did it for me too. Beautiful BC! Loved all the shots...how exciting!!! If you could share your camera settings on some of these shots it helps us learn!

1 is full of action, force, is “the Decisive Moment”.
Photo one - the explosive once in a lifetime moment does it for me ...
Photo one is just a amazing shot congrats
They each, tell a different story, so it is difficult to choose. However, I have selected # 3 shows the power of the mother and also the bond with her cub.
Photo no. 1 seems to tell the story you wanted to convey.... Well done!
Tim, I think the second one is the best.
Looks like an awesome trip. Heading there later this year. The 3 pics are awesome, but the face not being sharp on the first kills it for me. Anyway, awesome video. Thanks for sharing.

It felt so good. Thank you for seeing such material in the coming days
Photo one: it capture the movement of the bear and the water; it is powerful!
Number 3 is my favorite
Photo 2...intense beauty!
no. 2 is my favorite!
My favorite is mama with raised paw. The reason is being able to see water drops flying off showing the motion
Desafortunadamente no entiendo el idioma, pero que belleza de paisajes. Excelente trabajo. saludos desde Medellin, Antioquia Colombia.
Preguntan cual foto es tu favorito: 1, 2 ó 3
Awesome video! - - -
This makes me want to get back into photography. - - -

Great video Tim.
#1 is my favorite.

2 and 3 are absolutely mind blowing! I hope to plan on getting my first grizzly photo this late summer.
My vote goes for Photo 1- right in the middle of the action.
Love the first shot. I really enjoy how you walked us through your adventure. Thanks.
Thank you kerry!
Very nice Tim
I like no one best 🙏
Photo two is my favorite...shows strength, power and resolve!
I like the 3rd one of course
#1. is the most unusual moment...
