My 36 Hour Ride Moving From Toronto to Calgary - Not As Bad As I Thought!

  • My buddy, Michael, and I drove all the way from Toronto to Calgary for my move. It was actually way easier than I expected, mostly because I had my friend with me.
The scenic along the way was pretty exciting (for a first timer only I think)! It went from mountains, rocks, and lakes to plain fields of farm lands. I actually like it quite a lot!
Anyway, the video's nothing super exciting really, but it is definitely a memory I want to keep on forever.

I returned to Calgary after 3 years in Mississauga. Things to love about Calgary- cheaper than GTA, more wages, closer to beautiful rockies. If you have a car, winter is not much of an issue. I made stops at Sue St. Marie, Thunder Bay, and Brandon. Until you cross Thunder Bay, there will be areas with very few gas stations, lesser stop areas, some hill driving along the Great Lakes. I wouldn't do it in winter. Avoid night driving through through northern Ontario, there are plenty of road signs warning of wildlife on roads.

@@PugCamper Yeah but here’s the thing , I grew up in Toronto during the most carefree years of my life. I lived there when I was 7-12 and at that age I had no responsibilities, all my memories were happy so I recall the simplest things so fondly . That being said , these 5 years of my life will always be better than my teens and adulthood in Calgary . In reality if I had grown up in Calgary and then moved to Toronto my feelings about these cities may be the opposite . It’s more about the age I was rather than what’s in the city itself . I work in Banff now and while I agree that it’s a lovely place to visit I will never get the hype about people’s desires to live in the mountains. I still go home to Calgary once per week . Calgary’s been ok, I mean I met my most amazing best friends here and if I move again I will have to leave them and I don’t want to do that. Also Heritage Park , Toronto ‘s Black Creek doesn’t have a midway . I love Heritage Park so much that I’ve spent so many birthdays there and I want to get married there one day .
