- Geo discusses the news from Fabrizio Romano that Sporting manager Rúben Amorim is 'highly unlikely' to join West Ham United and replace David Moyes. Amorim flew to London yesterday to have talks with the Hammers but it appears Tim Steidten and David Sullivan will miss out on their main target to be the next manager at The London Stadium

He must have met Sullivan
Stop blaming the owner! It's all this fan base ever come up with. If it ain't the owner, it's Moyes.
He is interviewing the best candidates. What more do you want? Jesus, it was only 18 months ago he forked out 200 million on players.
Geezers had one good season. 2 max. I didnt have a clue who he was before this season and nether did 90% of the fan base. He plays a totally different style to the players he would be inheriting, and let's be real, hasn't done a huge amount in the game. Not saying that's the be-all and end-all of recruiting the next manager (Trophies on your resume) but blaming the owner is just a cop-out for you wollys having wet dreams over a rumour.
He's the flavor of the month. Half of youse couldnt name 5 players he's coached his whole career.
Seriously, this fan base. Embarrassing
Was it the plastic gnomes that put him off? They would me.
@damiandamico4715 Have you quite finished tugging off Sullivan yet fella?
Embarrassing......
Spoke to Sullivan for 5 mins and thought fuck that
😂😂
Amorim didn't like the idea of trying to get all our current attacking players to stop defending.
😂
Let the deprogramming commence!
i did say earlier its just a to bigger job . we need at least 8 players straight in
Can't help but think that, if Amorim really did meet with Sullivan last night, he probably came away feeling like he needed Swarfega to all get the slime off!
😂😂
Was it as close as almost signing Cole Palmer?
Brilliant
Absolutely ridiculous the way all the you tube channels went overboard. Remember who our owners are.
Embarrassing - the whole fan base
I literally said I didn’t think it will happen, David.
Exactly...the moyes out gang were knocking one out😂😂😂...
Sullivan is up too hes tricks again and they are all falling for it 😂😂😂
I bet the season- tickets haven't been sold yet. People aren' t that gullible.😅
@@HammersChat still stretched it out to a 10 minute video though... so he does have a point.
Waiting for Sullivan's "well we tried to get him" quote
"Well we tried to get him... but heres Wayne Rooney"
He did try and he wanted the 2nd highest wage in the league to be fair.
@@TheWorstCZcamsr98 Which he'd be worth I bet, just take the jump cos well never k ow if we dont try will we
@@user-vx7xf3pn7x He'd be great but it's an extortionate amount. We are a big club but can't splash crazy money. We've already given moyes over half a billion.
@@TheWorstCZcamsr98 yes and it hasn't word, quarter I think not half quite yet, but a manager like this guy could seriously have kudus and Bowen playing to potential, you never know he might've even got mubama playing like he can
No big deal. There’s still loads of good options out there. Just don’t let Sullivan talk to the candidates and don’t let the candidates walk around the ‘state of the art’ training grounds until after he’s signed the contract and we’ll be fine.
Name me someone who is good and better than Moyes right now ?
@@Foorless26 Depends what we are looking for. Do you mean in terms of has the potential to at least qualify for Europe? Can potentially win trophies? I.e. what Moyes has achieved here.
@@MarkChippers2193 Give me a name then ?
@@Foorless26 Answer my question first and I’ll answer yours. 🙂
@@MarkChippers2193 No mate answer mine first which manager will come to us cooper Sarri lopateggi Potter Fonseca all downgrades from Moyes
You know what ! Im sick of getting my hopes up with West Ham !! And then getting an almighty kick in the Bollox
Never get you're hopes up mate not with sullivan in charge
Me too I can't help it cos I think this one is the one that changes all that... But it never is
I am delighted the interview took place, regardless of how tenable it all was/is - The messaging, that we are parting ways with DM is fantastic❣
Ambitious move, let's hope this is a sign of things to come with any further new manager options for next season.
Totally gutted. Let's look at Will Still, please? 😭😭
I'd actually love will still, I bet he like us fans would be busting a gut to do well and go the extra miles to be a success at the club he supports... keep it quite though... and keep your hammers crossed.... Will Steel's Claret n Blue Army...
Neil Warnock it is then.🙁
😂😂😂😂😂
Steve Bruce seen getting a family meal deal for himself at Chigwell King Kebab & Pizza. Here we go
I have heard Barry Fry could be teased out of his retirement home
Ha ha 😂😂😂
😂😂😢
Sounds like a step in the right direction even if he is not coming. As always a great video. ⚒️
Amorim or Will Still I’ll be happy. Anyone saying Still doesn’t have experience, he’s been in coaching for over a decade. He would work very well with a Director.
The pull of lifetime supply of sextoys from Sullivans basement in his mansion probably put him off 😂
Thought it was too much to hope for . My one hope is that while Tim is still around he will advice Sullivan and listen to him for the choice of next manager
Tbh if Sullivan can't even be bothered to try to get this guy, I'm out, I ain't renewing ATM guys a joke
I think he tried….
Bye bye then
@@Foorless26 bye
No surprise, Champions League v FA Cup, worth a punt but European football was a must.
Looking in the right direction though.
Well the main take away from all this is it confirms Moyes isn't staying which in itself would be very good news for those who are paying hard earned cash and simply not enjoying the football ☺
Gary O’Neil on his way to West Ham then. He’s reportedly scheduled to arm wrestle David Moyes, and the winner to be confirmed as our Manager next season.
I think Moyes would win an arm wrestle
Professionally Moyes goes by McSnarly on the arm wrestle circuit @@HammersChat
Also, this smacks of the last minute big signings Sullivan failed to get over the line in January window two years ago, phoney ambition with no real intent.
Amorim is worth the money- he will unite the first team with the youth system and our players will be worth their weight in gold.
I bet Amorim walked in met Sullivan and did a Connor McGregor....."Who the f*ck is this guy" 😂
Too good to be true, lets just wait & see!
David Sullivan must be really worried about increasing the season ticket sales,,, he is leaking these managers names, to the main sports channels
our search for a manager will be like our strikers, we will have talks with Amorim but will end up with shaun dyche
Flew him in like Morgan Freeman in Batman just to tell us that he has literally no interest…. ‘I think next time a phone call will suffice’
Steitens good with calculations
Ha ha very true love it..
People may not renew based of a rumour of a signing but they may well do if it looks likes moyes is being shown the door !
It feels me with hope as in the type & calibre of coach we are looking for
Ah well that didn’t even last 24 hours. Probably changed his mind soon as he clapped eyes on Sullivan.
As the saying goes,,,, its the hope that kills you. ⚒
Never thought this was likely. My money is on Stuttgart Manager.
I’d like him, I still think it’ll be Foncesca
Hoeneß would be good shout but like Alonso he's said he wants to stay at Stuttgart and has a long contract.
The alleged font of all knowledge "ex" is not even ruling out Moyes getting a new deal, none of it makes any sense
After all the excitement of this morning, you've burst my bubble Geo!
I would imagine the Sporting fans and the club owners would be furious with him. Sounds like he went rogue and they had no idea he was gonna do this.
On another front, how about we look at the manager humbled both Klopp and Amorim? How about we look at the same guy who also found a way to bring out the best in Scamacca? Gasparini anyone?
Moyes could go today and leave with dignity. This seasons gone. Yet it seems the more resentments aimed at him the more he digs his heels in. Sad really because it could've been ours and his ultimate swansong. Now its like watching a festering spot that is about to pop. Yes we're glad it popped but a complete anticlimax.
They spoke to him six months ago and he probably said if you qualify for European football im up for joining you ..... Then the wheels fell off
And just like that ..... bubbles burst
Lots of bubbles at west ham that get burst
We will never improve until the complete management mentality changes at the club and we actually hang on to the players who will make the difference. As long as I can remember the West Ham way is :
1. Get a great player
2. "Top 4 " club get that player and then beat us with him.
Cole, Lampard, Ferdinand, Carrick, Tevez, I could weep.
Yes indeed. Add Di Canio, Payet, Rice, Scamacca to be followed by Paqueta and probably Kudus maybe? I could weep too.
I wasn’t going to believe it until it happens for this reason. However… I don’t think this is over yet… I think there is more to come so let’s see…
Ok,so it may be unlikely to happen, but it's a good start. If we are serious enough to fly over (I assume we paid) a top manager, then hopefully we are being a bit more ambitious in finding a new manager than just looking for a Moyes Mk2. It at least gives me a little bit of hope that it's not just Sullivan and his agent cronies who are choosing potential replacements.
So my hope and excitement didn’t even last 24hrs!!! 😢
Well Sullivan scared him off
Stinks of the usual Sullivan MO. A leopard never changes its spots. Can't wait for Lopetegui or Cooper to rock up, out of contract and free. If we thought the football was bad now then I can't wait for the horrific football we'll have served to us next, especially considering the rebuild we've got ahead of ourselves. Oh the joy of being a West Ham fan.
Lopetegui ain't that bad? Granted he's a diva and more of a manager than a coach not sure how well he'd pair with Steidten also? But he got Wolves playing good football on a tight budget? We'd certainly be more attacking under him than Moyes as for Cooper yeah he can do one.
@@kristiangibbings8082 I just can't see it working with Sullivan. I also think he is yesterday's news. Considering we are going from seasons of consecutive Europe, is this all we can really aspire to? A bloke who did okay on a poor budget with Wolves. I'd rather us go left of field and get someone young.
If he doesn’t join, so what no one man bigger than the club. Al least he came for a visit, lots of other candidates but they have to work under Tim Stiedten.
Smoke and Mirrors he will be coming to us
Thru Amorin's lens a) half glass full .....this could define my career b) half glass empty ...this could define my career
Damn
What was that Billy Connolly quote again?
Maybe Amorim wanted to see the work environment, when he saw the portacabins that was it. or maybe Brady for got to put her make up on. Potter or Lopetegui it is then
Nobody knows yet, i hate getting my hopes up too be told he aint joining, i wish everyone would just let nature'take its course, hopefully moyes does leave and we get a young manager that plays fast attacking football , not gonna believe anything now until its official 😢😢
What do you think about Sergio conceiceao? He's out of contract this summer i think that he will be a good appointment
One thing for sure that David see definitely leaving the club and the fans can get ready for next season happy days
As I feared. He will use us as a lever to get what he wants from Liverpool
Steidten wasn’t photographed. There is nothing to say he was not on the plane. If Steidten was pictured with Amorim then West Ham are bang to rights if Moyes should wish to pursue legal action.
You don’t negotiate for a persons replacement when they are still in post. Also the replacement in this case Amorim is still in employment.
I’ll give you double or quits on that £50 bet that we don’t get Amorim?
His compensation or salary shouldn't be an obstacle to such a critical appointment, just as important as player signings, if not more, especially given the big summer rebuild. But Sullivan more likely to shop cheap.
I knew Sully would feck it up, we will end up with Cooper ffs. I didn’t believe it would happen but I’m still disappointed, typical West Ham.
No point having all this money if you give it to moyes, look at money we've wasted on his signings.
He could have met any club in London. He could have met us to push Liverpool to up his wages, players do it all the time.
Season ticket renewal time? We tried…
basically steidten is leveraging fabrizo to crystalise our offer to amorim is final via the public sphere
I think we are realistic looking at either Fonseca or Lopetegui
Me too mate, which do you prefer?
@@HammersChatI can’t say I know too much about either but I’m going to say Fonseca.
From my understanding Lopetegui achieved nothing at most of his clubs, was horrendous at Real Madrid, but won the Europa with Sevilla (the team that’s won it the most in the competition’s history). Didn’t he also lose to us? His style of football is definitely an upgrade on Moyes’ though.
Fonseca, however, has been a bit more consistent relative to the clubs he’s a managed. Always in and around those European spots and either meeting, slightly exceeding, or just falling short of his targets - he hasn’t been a disaster at any club. His football is also extremely good, one of the most impressive in Europe, and he’s been quality with Lille this season. He’s also the younger of the two so hopefully that means more adaptable tactics and more ambition to incorporate the youth?
@@HammersChat To rank all the managers we’ve linked to by who I want most:
1. Arne Slot (very unlikely)
2. Amorim (very unlikely)
3. Tuchel (very unlikely)
4. Marco Silva (unlikely)
5. Fonseca
6. Hansi Flick (wildcard)
7. Lopetegui
8. Moyes
He used the meeting to get other clubs interested.......a pr excercise ........i would love to see someone like the Ipswich manager get the gig
In Tim we trust cos we don't have any other options, where the duck is noble always very quiet, I don't like it, unless he knows somethings going on but not telling anyone
Sullivan should be not allowed to talk to anyone.
Moyes new 5 year deal incoming
Yeah along with London stadium empty and season renewals at an all time low
If he actually took the time to fly to London and meet with West Ham's representatives, then there is firm interest on both sides; otherwise, it would have been a Zoom call and a polite no thanks from Amorim and he moves on... Doesn't mean he will come, but physically presenting himself does mean he entertains/ed an interest in us despite other clubs being in the mix. There is no evidence that Steidten has not already visited Amorim...but it likely all fell through when he met one of the porno twins...
poison dwarf strikes again??i didn't see him buying Amorim out of the contract
Just like I said
People forget who our owner is and get their knickers damp far too easily
It’s more likely to be Rafa than Ruben
Nailed on to announce he’s signed a new contract with Sporting on Saturday
Why would any self respecting head coach come for an interview whilst we still have a manager in place. I don't think they would as it would be disrespectful. If they told him Moyes is leaving then why won't they tell us.
Perhaps they told Moyes already but not the fans? Who knows maybe the club are trying to be more professional and keep others guessing? Sullivan leaks most stuff about the club anyway and the fans hate it
Moyes’s contract is up and hasn’t been renewed (yet), it’s not like the club are going behind Moyes back prior to sacking him. There has to be a new manager in place by 3 June.
Let’s face it with Sullivan at the helm the best we will get is Potter or Roy H.
"talks not expected to advance" doesn't mean it's a no. He won't be going to Liverpool.
Gonna go through steidens list of candidates, they’ll come over, meet them all, then meet Sullivan and…..we’ll end up going with one from Sullivans list of has been cronies
And like my dreams…….
Amorim wants Barcelona its so clear, rejecting and stalling all deals.
Well he won’t have much of a transfer budget with them.
I told you yesterday this will not be happening he's way to good for us .
Tbf Garry, I think majority felt like that
That excitement lasted...
Most fun I’ve had for a while with West Ham tbf
@@HammersChat very true and whilst I didn't think we would get this one over the line I'm hoping it's the start of a ambitious summer.
Maybe he wanted to see the training ground 😂
😂😂 perhaps the big smile was a laugh
I reckon Sullivan promised he would sign him Carlos Bacca
Breaking news, sullivans off on his jet to Paraguay to sign, lwb Mario dildong...... Class
Íd love to be a fly on the wall in the Moyes household. I bet he is apoplectic. Will any reporter dare ask him about the rumours of a new manager next season 😂😂
A meeting don’t mean he’s sold. He prob also had a meeting with Liverpool maybe even Chelsea
Reality bites again!! Oh well..
I told you all Amorim wouldn’t come to us we might aswell keep Moyes because there’s no one else out there that’s an upgrade
If it was Sullivan what would Tims take on it be?
All the talking heads at it again.
Was never gonna happen? All this was a show by Amorim and his team to force bigger and better clubs to hurry up and also benefits Sullivan because he's crapping himself with the lack of season renewals. We'll end up with either Fonseca? Lopetegui? or maybe Potter?
Remember trying to sell season tickets
The wages should he unlikely come, should be contingent upon how well he does, a basic of 10M a year would be okay and should he get europa league qualification be ratcheted up to £15M and Champions League £22.5M. This is part of the problem in football nowadays, everybody seems to get top drawer basic wages without any incentives. If he came and got us champions league footy then £22.5M as much as it sounds would represent excellent value for money!
Couldn’t agree more with this, always found it strange there isn’t more tiered pay structures involved.
Likewise when a player comes in, signs a 5 year deal on £Xthousand a week, has a really good season and asks for a new deal. What do they think the first one was for, to be average?
@@HammersChatGeo, its called 'Have your cake and eat it'
Crazy considering how much some of these pretenders are on!
José Mourinho here we come
At least Jose Mourinho really is a consistent winner of the big matches; not like David Moyes. 1 cup in 2000 matches.
Cos it's Sullivan's money. It's not rocket science is it? Steidsen won't be paying the £12m signing on fee so will have nothing to do with negotiating a manager's contract.
It was all going well and then he met Sullivan 🙄😡
Gutted 😔
They are just using us to get a bigger club
Bring in potter or mckenna
Am not sold on Potter but a yes to McKenna
@HammersChat the potter from Brighton I think chelsea was too much for him
I live in felixstowe next to ipswich and mckenna is an absolute god up here, they sell out home and away every game play great football and he does not believe in playing for a draw it's positive tactics and subs every minute of every game
@@lewisdowsett8390yes to McKenna
Yesssss
I'd go for Arnie Slot.
Turn into the shambles that will emulate our transfer windows. Wouldn't get involved in the fantasy to sell season tickets
Well at least I had a few hours of excitement geo, I guess we had better prepare ourselves for either more drudgery under Moyes or yet another underwhelming sulli special. I have a terrible feeling it’s going to be potter or Moyes as the only alternatives, oh god
I think Gonzo is moer likeky to be our nanager than Amerin! 😂 4:51
Sullivan is the reason and not West Ham !! dont ever forget that .
