First of all, I would like to thank you because I am a law student in my 3rd year and I really appreciate the fact that you practice what you "preach". This is so inspiring. I do want to be an international lawyer but I know I have a long way to get there. But thank you for your vulnerability and transparency.
Loiis Etonde ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm working on my BA and have been pondering what I want to do with it... The idea of international law came up, and I found your videos while trying to decide if it'd be a good fit. The more I learn, the more I think it is, but it's intimidating AF!
such an inspiration!! thank you for sharing. im about to become a lawyer. and the i would love to do a master in public international law! thank youuu for sharing your journey
I truly wish you all the best. Let us know when you start your masters.
This is a really amazing and brave articulation of your experiences and what made you who you are, your work as a barrister is really inspiring!
Thank you so much. I am so happy that you enjoyed it. All the best, D.C

I loved your journey. So many doubts and challenges in my life as a 22 year old resonate with you and I’m so grateful that you decided to share this with all of us.❤️
Thank you so much

What a great beautiful mind. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Diana for this video and all the good energy that you spread through this channel. I just finished a BA in International Relations but IHL and Human Rights have always been my passion, that's why I have decided to pursue a Law degree now so I can later on pursue a LLM and become a Human Rights Lawyer. I think now is the time to invest in education because it seems like the labour market is definitely in a bit of a crisis. Watching your videos is encouraging me to pursue my dream, so thank you!
Well done on tour graduation! Many congratulations. Wishing all the best
i finished my LLB and wrote my dissertation on self-determination international law. ive always been so interested in human rights but people around me always told me not to as its not good money but this is what i want so bad in life. im glad i found your channel
Me too!!!
Dear Helly, close your ears and do not listen to those people. The international community needs you and if you are good in what you do, money flows. There are of course steps to be taken in your career to ensure that and i hope that i provide some assistance through this channel.
i believe @Princess Sofia HRH also liked your question and i hope she get to see the answer from here.
You should make a video of your favorite books, please! You have an impressive library behind you- would love to read the books that inspired you. xx
Dear Erin, thank you so much for your beautiful comment. The video idea has already been noted. Watch this space. D.C
Hi thank you so much for this video,I am a South African llb student and Human rights is my passion, you are absolutely right this is a calling.
Dear Janice hello from London. Thank you so much for your kind words. Is it your calling too?
@@DianaCon yes it is,and like you said in your videos, I took the time to 'save myself 'that highly resonated with me,thank you so much
I want to be an international human rights lawyer.
All what I need to know is how to start.
I am a law school graduate.
You need to qualify as a lawyer and then practice in the field of international criminal law. Wishing you all the best, D.C
Hi Diana! It may have been a while since you first posted this video, but I still want to say thank you for sharing this beautiful, inspiring life story about how you began your career as an international human rights lawyer! The two things you learned from that tragedy at the age of 5 (1. life is not given to waste it and 2. fear is the creation of imagination) did strongly resonate with me. As a college student majoring in philosophy and psychology, I am still trying to figure out what my future career would be and standing between two divergent paths, psychology or law, of my graduate programs. Would you mind sharing more about how you made your decision of choosing law instead of psychology at that time when you applied for graduate schools? Thank you so much!🥰
Dear Christine, thank you so much for your kind words and apologies for the lateness of my reply. I have been on maternity to give birth to my second daughter and recently resumed work. What made choose law over psychology? Psychology addresses the needs of an individual but law can address the needs of a nation by correcting the history and the record. For example, the Sudan case at the ICC, i cannot change what happened but through my work i can ensure that the history says what happened is wrong. Through my work i believe and feel that i address the tribe/community trauma. This is my personal reflection and i hope it helps, if not please drop me a dm on instagram @dianalousia to discuss. All the best,
Triumph through tragedy..... what a story!
Thank you so much. Very kind of you :)
I am so glad I came across your video as it has reignited in me the passion to do something in the field of human rights. You are a very strong person and I admire your courage greatly! I am actually in the US and would like some guidance in pursuing it as a career for I feel that it is my calling as well! I hope you see this comment and we are able to connect :)
My dear Fatima thank you so much for your kind words. Please email me to arrange a call or DM on Instagram 🌞
@@DianaCon Definetly will
Hi Diana, hope you are doing well
I want to start off by saying that u truelly are an inspiration! Your stories are so motivation.
I'm from Belgium and it's my first year of law. I wanted to ask you if it's possible to combine international law and human right practice with working abroud and travelling. It would be amazing if you could make a video about that :D
Hi Amina, yes it is possible and I already taken a note of your video idea. ❤️❤️
😍🤩
Thank you so much for this video.😁
My hope is to also become an international human rights lawyer. I’m currently completing the LPC and working as a legal assistant. Do you have any tips? X
How is LPC going? I have many tips... if you wish to book a session and discuss it, this is the link www.rolesa.org/legal-clinics
Let me know on instagram @dianalousia that you booked it.
Love your video and your story. I aspire to be a human rights lawyer. I tried clicking on the links but all of them are unavailable or say there's an error.
Thank you for your kind words. Some of them may have expired. Which one are you interested and I can send you the updated ones.
What an inspiring story. You are such a beautiful person💜💜
Question: Do you need an LLM to become an international human rights lawyer?
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. No you don't need a LLM but there are positions at international institutions that requires and or are considered to be an advantage. All the best, Diana
The city of billings. Mhc alternatives moses and more plus child support and walmart plus more
Uh what?
Wow, interesting story about yourself. You definitely need to hear about my story and case. Could maybe give me the good advice I need, on how I take the National Lottery to court so I can sue them. I would win my case for massive compensation and change the lottery, if I can get them in court, but don't really know how. You also wait till I finally get round to writing my book about it all as well. You'd enjoy that. I'll email you a brief outline of what happened to me in a couple of days time if that's OK?
My dream is to be an International Human Rights Lawyer, hun
Pochangemotion and your will be :) ☀️
I need help in billings mt. Im being called methman and need to start suing
hello , i was serching for the perfect career and got it ... can i know how long does it take to finish the course
I am so happy that you found your call. You will definitely need a law degree and it depends in which country you will decide to complete your undegrad the years will vary between 3 - 5 years and then you will need to qualify as a lawyer. All the best with your career. D.C
I'm currently studying a bachelor of arts in international relations and diplomacy, I am interested in doing my master in international law, what guidances and wonderful advice can you help me with please, is being international lawyer a very lucrative job please clarification on that questions
Congratulations on your studies and pursuing international relations and diplomacy. I would suggest to do what you believe it gives purpose to your life. If one does that, then everything else follows, such as money. All the best and let me know how it goes.
Hi Diane! I'm in high school, and I have made the decision to study law in the UK. Wanted to know about your work-life balance. Do you get stressed out? Do you feel as if you don't have a fulfilling family life? Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Dua
And by the way, extraordinary life story. I would love to be a support for those who do not have any support. I would really appreciate to gain your guidance on me becoming an international human rights lawyer, Diane. Also, it's a weird question, but how much do you earn through your career?
Dear Dua, well done on your decision. I truly wish you all the best and flourish within your choices. To answer to your questions:
- Yes, I do get stressed but it is mostly creative and to make sure that I have done all preparation that is needed. I do not stress appearing in court or speaking in front of the public.
- I believe we humans are many things and we (I) have to appreciate it. There is time for everything but it requires discipline and determination. I am trying to have a fulfilling family life, and so far, I want to believe that I am doing well, but it may be too early to say anything ... since I do not have children. :)
I hope this answers to your questions!
If you follow your heart eventually, it will pay you well, because you will be doing it well, because you are passionate in what you do :)
@@DianaCon Thank you very much for your response! It's quite enlightening! May you prosper even more!
@@DianaCon Of course. Thanks!
what uni did you go to?
Hi D an Newman, I went to University of Leicester. What about you?
Hi I'm also looking to pursue a career in human rights law , but I'm having trouble choosing an undergraduate degree .........can you let me know what u studied before law school please it would be so helpful!!
In many countries (including England) you study law as an undergraduate degree. The US is different in that regard. Major in whatever interests you, cause your undergraduate degree really doesn't matter for law school!
@@jennamarcus4283 thanks !!may I ask wat you majored in
@@remiellis972 I majored in political science and history! :)
I majored in Ancient & Modern Greek, Latin (language), Advanced History and Maths. All the best with your career. D.C
I need to sue the United States of America because 2 days before I started working at the City of Delray Beach, Florida, they cut the brake line on my car and my sons died. They also trespassed on my properties and put the same holes in the brake line in my kitchen plumbing. I have evidence and documents of ongoing abuse. I was BULLIED OUT OF MY JOB WITH THE CITY LATER after the woman there 37 years retired. Then I had police abuse and false arrest..... it is because of police mechanic cut the brake line on my car, POLICE ABUSE BY STATE TROOPERS, SHERIFF AND BULLYING....

Great question! I believe as international practitioners, the next step, is to find preventative enforceable ways for invasions and wars!
