Why does emmure get so much hate? I'm a dedicated metalhead that likes Cannibal corpse, dying fetus, suffocation etc. and I think emmure is great.

Whether you love Emmure or hate them, one must admit that Mark Castillo is arguably one of the best drummers out there right now. His technique is superb.
This song almost makes you want to cry. The bitterness, the coldness, as he stands in a room full of friends and colleagues, yet speaks of being alone. Anger, and then the guitars come in, reminding us for a moment, how painful it can be, to be alone.

I know Victory kinda forced them to push out Speaker of the Dead and Slave to the Game but I always thought both albums were super good.
For sure. SotD is a total banger. I don’t think SttG is as consistent throughout but it still has some standout tracks, especially this one! Protoman is in my top 5 favorite Emmure songs.

Castillo's a fucking beast. one of my favorite drummers ever. he really has command of a lot of different styles of metal drumming, and he has for a while. he recorded between the buried and me's "the silent circus" almost 10 fucking years ago, and I think that that's some of the sickest material that he's ever written

The flavor of these comments on their videos can easily be reduced to "why the haters" and "fuck this bullshit". Musical tastes are just like food tastes, people need to get that. Emmure kicks ass, you dont have to be super technical to sound good, i dont think they sound like the acacia strain, tas vocalist only uses one tone of voice, franki does highs lows and mids and sings at some points, therefore i say i like their sound and originality, listening to all their albums i find different sounds and styles on each one, i can be inspired an uplifted by one song and ready to fuck shit up with another
