Such a great commentary, - one example after another of gentle praise, not going mad, nobody showing off, just kind acknowledgement of things going WELL lots of times. No wonder snooker feels like a religion! Simple kindness in the face of perfection! John Windsor-Cunningham

When Shaun bites his finger, he switches to "The Magician" mode.

Does anybody think that when these shot work, it is just a matter of luck whether it works or fails, I do.

i think there is a lot of luck involved in the specific location the balls land, but many of them are played in a way where even if they didnt go perfect it would still be a decent position, like most of the shots where they were knocking reds in off other balls, were fairly safe even if they didnt go in (Williams put the white up a baulk, Robertson had the pink for cover). or Selby's cannons on the blue/black if he missed the cannon he would probably have still been ok, just maybe have to play a safety rather than continue the break
i feel like thats the thing that makes most of these shots clever, rather than that they happened to work out

@@custard131 The point is that although the player may well have played the shot but the fact that it worked out is a matter of luck, most of these shots could be played twenty times and only work out once and if you watch snooker you will see that mostly they fail but when it works the people commentating say what a great shot that was but the majority of the time it does not work because the luck was not there, even when they demonstrate the shot with a professional player even the simpler ones take several attempts to get it right and most times they don`t.

@@honestchris7472 did you even read my comment? i agreed that the exact result had a lot of luck, but most of them were played in a way where even if it didnt go right things would still have been ok
getting out of a snooker as long as you dont leave your opponent a pot its ok, playing a low % pot is ok as long as you dont leave it for your opponent if you miss, playing a clever positional shot is ok as long as you pot the ball and dont snooker yourself
to me what makes these fancy shots clever is finding a way to play them that doesnt give the match away if they dont go in

@@custard131 my point is that the commentators do not comment on the safety aspect of the shot but the result where they actually pot a ball as though that is what they played for and if they did play for it, then the vast majority of times they would not get what they played for. he commentators, especially Dennis Taylor states things like "you will never see a shot better than that" but the result was just luck that it worked.

Hardly mind blowing, brain surgery is mind blowing, not snooker.
