My first "track car" that I learned on was a 06 DINAN stage 2 Mini Cooper S and it was a riot to drive, despite having only around 200 hp. The earlier Minis like the R53 are the ones to track imo as they're small, light and handle well. The modern Minis have grown in size quite a bit these days, I'm unsure how good they are drive on track, maybe they're still fun. I'll always have found memories of that car.

That mini looks a right handful to drive, very tight gears which does take a lot of getting used to but you still smashed that lap 🤙🏻
And it’s right hand drive which I’ll bet is a little more difficult for you? 😅

The gears in a Mini are so tight and close together that even in a stock model, It's a mission to get used to
Not much of a driver myself, but after watching hundreds of your videoes, then it really makes you see and feel how well build and amazing that setup on that car is! Truely amazing!!

I did a lap last night and I just wanna say that GT3’s are absolute weapons. You cannot grasp how fast they corner until you get passed doing 140kmh and you still feel like your standing at a bus stop. Popped my head into Apex for a look earlier. Great set up.
The pure look they shared after passing the gantry at 12:24 is one of the best moments I have seen on this channel.

Just lots of uneducated people that will label all minis unreliable because of the first gen turbo engine

That car is all about a good time. From what I saw and heard, I don't think it needs a smaller turbo. If anything, maybe a slight bump in low end torque, but that can be compensated for with greater familiarity of the trans as well. I love the drive!
