- Making a stand in Emerald Isle NC, against unconstitutional laws that prohibit swimming. On Tuesday April 14, three local surfers were arrested for not leaving the water following the town's decision to join the tyrannical federal and state government's abuse of power. The town declared that it was illegal to enter the ocean!Today April 16, Retired Chief Rife entered the water in uniform bringing a sign along that read "Land of the Free." The police chief was called as back up, he asked him if he would leave the water, to which Rife responded "No." They then left and said that Rife could remain in the water.
He's a 1st amendment hero in my book. Way to go Chief!

My understanding and what I read is they opened the beach 3 hours later. A mistake to close beaches. They should have stayed open with social distancing. And special thanks to Chief for sticking up for our rights.

Looks to me that the guys talking to the cops are more of a threat than the guy in the water. No social distancing on their part they were standing very close multiple times.

Legend has it he is still there today, his feet are buried to deep to move with out getting his dress coat wet at this point.

I don’t see the problem you’re just standing in water.
I believe it was a response to another man, a surfer, being arrested before, though across the country in Malibu CA earlier in April.
